He played near enough 90% of their games last season. Starting most of the time. Hes on huge wages though I think. Around €300k ish.
-
Deserves some good fortune? Fuck me Matt Law is off his head. He is not good enough. Period
-
Yep thought he played very well, again, like every other game this season but the match thread was still full of folk bashing him again for being “not good enough/shit” which is the complete opposite of how he played 🤣 Further proof that doesn’t matter how well you play here, if your one of Alonso, Mount or Jorginho, you’re going to be written off or criticised anyway.…

What I don’t get, after selling Zouma for £25m, is why we aren’t going a bit closer to Sevilla’s valuation for Kounde? If he is that good and Tuchel wants him, it is disappointing. I know there is playing the game, I get that but still, its a bit of a strange one. The links and interest has been concrete for a while now. We played the game with Inter for Lukaku, but we wanted him to sign and were more than happy to pay Inter their valuation. I mean if we don’t offer the full release fee or even make another bid that is a bit closer to it, it gives me the impression there are some pretty conspicuous doubts on our side regarding him from other people at the club more than anything.
-
True enough but still, its a position we are weaker in now with the sale of Kurt, even if he isn’t the best player out there. Chalobahs done well but we have to expect that he is not the finished article and may have games in midfield also this season if we don’t go for a midfielder.
-
So selling Zouma and not getting another CB? Well that is, well… daft.
-
I am just too lazy to change it/request to change it. I see the funny side of it too.. and the irony as well as annoyance when he scores against us. Not sure what being British or not being British has to do with anything. Potentially derail the thread or lead to a petty argument about a flag on a forum when really we should be talking about Thomas Tuchel and the good work he is doing.
-
Been a forum member for years mate. The thing is, ironically enough, I made my name this when Salah rejected Rodgers and Liverpool to come here under Jose from Basel. Was accused of being a Salah lover over Hazard 2 or 3 seasons on here over this though but cant be bothered changing it 🤣

What I like about him is even at full time, despite the circumstances and his praise of the team to the media, you can see he still wants more. And tactically, would say that again, another big game, another good showing. The second half, you can see the intensity and desire he’s instilled in the players to defend and be solid. I mean someone said tactically and as a coach in general he is better than Conte a while ago and I felt it was too early but I think he so far 3 games in this season (4 including the Super Cup) after a pre season which wasn’t necessarily easy due to the Euros, there are clear indications this team can go and win the league. Maybe getting excited but I just get the feeling that we can and will be right up there. Yesterday proved that. Sarri or Frank’s teams would of crumbled and conceded a second goal. Even Conte’s second season we probably lose that.
-
Yep. Even then the minutes he played, after his game v Arsenal, he was disappointing. But its only one game, still got plenty to offer after this summes attempt to sign Hakimi and pretty confident once he finds the right intensity and drive in his play consistently he will kick on again. Bit of an enigma at times.
-
Ironic you pick a game where he played bad and didn’t get any assists to bash him, only a week after going missing from this thread after his assist last week v Arsenal…. Am actually starting to doubt your even a fan now, just one of these individuals who is only ever here to criticise folk, which is even more ironic considering we played over a whole half with 10 men against a top top team 🤣 honestly what a load of fucking dross
-
Few weeks hopefully that irons out. But you can see how the two tens will play off Lukaku, particularly in big games. He wasn’t always involved yesterday but his movement free’d up Kai and Mason, who got some good positions that on another day they’d do more in. Rom also showed he could roll van Dijk and Matip despite the whole ‘VVD is not Pablo Mari’ point. He is the real deal, even if he is not Haaland or Mbappe. Give him a few more games and I think he will easily go on a run of scoring. In a few weeks time, when fully integrated and he has enough match rhythm, I think that front 3 has huge potential to be very impactful on games.

Andreas Christensen. Thats the post. Thought he was superb all game. Excellent performance. Especially after the shit he got after the game v Liverpool last season when he got sent off. Also 10 men or not and Anfield crowd or not, first half 11 v 11 for sure we had the best clear cut situations to score, just were missing the final ball. Then after the red, real resilience, most teams would probably crumble under that pressure and with that crowd driving them on. We didn’t. And we looked as if we knew that we wouldn’t drop the points as well. Another massive game where TT got more or less everything spot on I felt tactically. Slow start but generally solid and imposed ourselves on the game without being too over the top which for a big away game, thats how it should be. Wouldn’t normally celebrate a draw so to speak but ultimately, with everyone talking about title challenges, title winning teams can defend when the backs to the wall, playing with real personality and guts, I seen that in an abundance yesterday.

Make me one ill do it I keep forgetting
-
What was Reece doing? Absolute stupidity even having any notion of thinking about flicking his arm out there. Mental. It is about as deliberate as you can get even with the deflection he still moves his arm to the ball…. Cannot believe how shocked half you seem to be as well, I mean if thats not a penalty, then what is?
-
Brilliant header from Kai. Even watching him, I know we’ve not created much but watch Havertz. The runs he’s making, the positions he’s getting in, just needs to iron out the final pass or shot.
-
Fabinho not booked by now? fuck sake?
-
Is he not an attacking midfielder? Its not as if he is breaking in ahead of the guys we have already as well as the fact a buybacks undoubtedly going to be in place. Probably a smart move and 8.5m £ for someone who’s hardly kicked a ball for us is a good deal. Don’t know why but people seem to losing their mind when we sell academy players who had a grand total of maybe 3 first team appearances between them in Bate, Livramento and now Anjorin.
-
True enough regarding his strengths and then weaknesses such as on the ball and reading the play at times but I do think for a 4th choice CB, he is not exactly the worst option either. I mean the boy Kounde looks talented but who’s place is he taking? Azpis? Rudigers? Silvas? Even then we have Christensen and Chalobah also. I don’t think he’s necessarily coming straight into the starting 11, which is why I find it odd we are moving someone out who is perhaps more likely to be content as a 4th choice and buying a 50m+ CB when we still haven’t addressed midfield yet.
-
Don’t fully agree with this move, still think he has plenty to offer here although its clear he isn’t first choice. Plus we lose another aerial threat in the squad. Lets hope Kounde is as good as everyone makes out….second coming of Maldini reading some of the comments here.
-
Really? Other than the sentimental side of him coming through the academy there is no argument for him being here (even coming through the academy is not a good argument because he isnt at the level the others were).
-
They already have 5. Shane Long, Adam Armstrong, Che Adams, Michael Obafemi and then Broja. Plus Hasenhuttl has also used Redmond as a striker in a 2 in the past. So it was always a bit of a weird loan.
-
Crazy. Although he would undoubtedly be worth the outlay despite the outrageous sums. I think bar maybe PSG and Real, nobody is going to pay that sort of wages or fees though and this may scupper any moves. Even then, if Madrid are still fucked financially whilst also trying for Mbappe, they wont manage both unless they sell a lot. Bayern are interested but certainly will not pay that money, they had issues getting Kimmich, Alaba, Goretzka to resign/want to resign and their on considerably less. We wont go for him next summer for sure and I don’t even think United or City will be that stupid either to pay 50m wages or 40m fees to that Raiola on top of £68m release clause.
-
There is a lot of misinformation on this going round as if the clubs have enforced this. It is not as if we are the only club and the likelihood is it is not exactly the clubs who pushed it either but I would imagine they are also very happy with this as the club v international football has always been a problem. Its more to do with the FA, PL and the government not wanting exemptions for footballers travelling to and from countries on the red list as opposed to the clubs pushing it, preventing the risk of COVID outbreaks. For instance, Mo Salah cannot join up with Egypt next month. Plenty others who play for Brazil will also not be going ie Alisson, Ederson, Fabinho, Fred, Richarlison, Firmino etc. https://www.premierleague.com/news/2231483/?sf248863027=1

The same Neville who makes out his mate Ole is the right man for Man United and that their squad are still short/a better manager couldn’t win them the title. Normally agree with a lot of Neville’s points but the Lukaku one was daft. End of the day, Lukaku was a success at United. He was a big part of their last team/group to win a trophy. Even for instance, re not fitting in at Liverpool or City, a big criticism last season at times for Liverpool was not scoring enough goals outside of Salah and Mane…. so how would a strong, mobile 20+ goals a season CF like Lukaku not fit in that team? I mean he was talking like Lukaku is Peter Crouch here.
