  1. I understand some people's concerns about this appointment and they have valid points (SeB's post was typically excellent). Yes Robbie has not yet proved to be a world-class manager despite his accomplishments last season, but he surely hasn't proved to an awful manager. I am glad he got the chance to prove that he is good enough to manage Chelsea because I think last season's accomplishments, though may not be due to managerial and tactical brilliance, have justified taking a risk on him and giving him a shot to prove himself.
  2. Although that maybe true, the aim of this thread still is for users to share their opinions on Feranado Torres. And he's as entitled to expressing his opinion as you are. Totalitarianism will not work here. As for Torres he wasn't exactly excellent throughout the game, but he got the all important goals. I'm happy for him, I just hope he can build on this. I fear if he does not score in the next couple of games he'll be back to square one.
  3. Two things: 1) Is finishing above Arsenal good enough at Chelsea? I don't think so. Over the last 8 years, imo, this club has thrived on competing for every tittle and for settling on finishing 4th. If the squad can at best finish 3rd, then it is simply not good enough by our standards. 2) AVB was brought here to try and implement exactly what he tried to do. The owner's plans for the club, which have continued after Andre's departure through the signings we are making, took a blow when some of our players refused to take the managers instructions. I'll never forget our players wasting time in the last minutes of the game when the team was loosing 2-0 against Everton and 1-0 against WBA. It was the player power, spear-headed by Lampard, that cost us those points. Not to say the Andre didn't have his obvious flaws.
  4. You're missing my point which was: We did not loose the EPL because of AVB or luck or refereeing, we didn't win it because our squad was simply not good enough.
  5. We did not loose the tittle in two or three games . I realize that some games had special circumstances, but my point was that last season's squad will never win the league even with better luck and only the league to concentrate on.
  6. Tbf, we didn't do much better under Robbie. Drew vs Arsenal and Twatenham and lost to the scum. As a matter of fact, our league form under RDM was worse than AVB. I think there is no need to blame the refereeing or Andre, we have to acknowledge that our squad just wasn't good enough last season.
  7. Maybe because you were never really away. I kept seeing you're name on the "Users reading this topic" list in almost every thread You even posted a few times when you were "away". Face it cap, you can't live without us
  8. He's a great talent; a technically gifted player, but I question his work rate, especially defensively.
  9. Damn. There goes my plans for the afternoon
  10. ^^ Not to mention he scored some very important goals for us, especially this season.
  11. A bit overrated and unbelievably selfish. No thanks.
  12. Yes, please. The man is on a Hat-trick!
  13. Really? They think they can do better than 4th place?
  14. Lol it's just a thread. We have one for almost every player in the euros in the transfer market section If anything, imo, the "We Hate ....." threads reflect a small club mentality much more than this. Let it go...
  15. Quick question: Who are "They"?! On topic, I hope this means RVP is heading to Juve.
  16. Yeah you're probably right Add to that , it's summer and not every one like international football. I just hope Ron (zolayes) comes back soon, his posts are always enjoyable.
  17. Only time can mend this, but I promise I'll try to forgive you
  18. My thoughts exactly. He can be a super sub, come on if we are holding on to lead and need a winger who can defend, or even if we are loosing and need more energy and pace in midfield. He can still start in 4-2-3-1 in big games if our full back needs help against a certain winger (Messi, Robben...etc). I hope RDM (or the new manager) has Ramires in his plans. He is a great athlete, I'd hate to see him leave.
  19. You don't know how hard it has been without you around
