Great shout. He would make an excellent squad player as long as we can get him for less than 12mil.

Besides, he didn't exactly have a good season. I doubt he will ever be able to replicate his form of the 2009-2010 season with all the injuries he's suffered since.

Yes, I see your point, but whom would you suggest? We can't get yet another 30-40mil signing like modric.

My first choice RB would be Lechtsteiner, but I can't see Juve selling him. There is a serious shortage of quality RBs in the market. We won't know that for sure until he is given a chance in the league and not just the odd carling cup match.

When Lamps needs resting we'll have to settle for Raul, although I personally would like to see Josh given a shot. The creativity will have to come from the front four. When we pay an estimate of 143mil, surely we expect them to have the quality to break down almost any defense.

I agree but I don't see us selling Raul as much as I would love to see him go. As for the second part, I think Lamps is more than capable of finding any of the front four and playing them into space as he demonstrated best with Drogba's and Ramires' goals vs Barcelona. Mikel, btw, is just as capable of finding passes that split defenses, his long range passing is unbelievably underrated.

I'm pretty sure De Bruyne is going on loan to a PL side. I even remember reading that he said so. Ramires I really don't think he can play CM in the 4-2-3-1 especially along side Lamps. Frank, despite his excellent performances there, is not a DM, he cannot cover for Ramires' runs forward especially that he will be looking to make forward runs himself. The Lamps-Mikel partnership turned our season around and, imo, was the key element in winning the two cups. I'd keep it for another year.

I am pretty sure de bruyn will be going on loan next season so we can take him out of the equation. Let's weigh up our options for each position assuming we sing Hulk and let go of Kalou Bos Essien and Malouda: ST: Torres, Danny, Hulk RW: Hulk Marin Danny Rambo CAM: Mata Hazard Raul (for extreme cases only) LW: Hazard Ramires Marin Kakuta (I don't want him sent on loan) CM: Mikel Romeu Lamps Raul Josh ( if not sent on another loan) RB: Iva Hutch CB: Terry Luiz Cahil Iva LB: Cole Bertrand Honestly, if we do sign Hulk, I'd only buy another RB to rotate with Iva. Modric or Anyone else would be an absolute luxury buy.

Yes I was thinking that he'd be perfect for the role that Lamps played this season in the 4-2-3-1. Though I was thinking more of De Bruyne and Mikel/Romeu.

It's not about who's available but rarther what we need. With the Hulk deal likely happening, do we need another forward? As for modric, we needed him when we were planing on playing 4-3-3 which I don't see us going back to with the signings we've made. We don't need him now.

Yes I've heard about this many times, I'm pretty sure it is true. So now if Hazard is really getting 200K it would like we're actually paying him 225K since we'd have to increase Terry's wages by 25K as well.

^^ I think Kevin's future is at CM. He has the vision, passing skills, and defensive abilities to be great there. I haven't watched him for full 90 mins excpet against us, so I can't judge his positional and tactical awareness yet.

Doesn't Terry have that "highest paid player" clause or something? I'm pretty sure Torres and Terry are on the same wages.

Agreed. If we are going to loan him, we should do so from the start of the season. It's very difficult to break into a team in mid season.

I hope he impresses during pre-season so he can get a chance to get league football with us. But my point was , can we afford to take the risk of another loan? This stage of his development is crucial, we can't keep getting it wrong.

But a loan is always at a risk of turning into something similar to what happened at Swansea and would be a total waste of time.
