We are always trying hard to believe that there is some greater force that controls major events in the world, perhaps it is because our minds can only perceive events as cause and effect or maybe we are just too scared to admit that some major events such as earthquakes,volcanoes...ect are not under anyone's control. Anyways, if mathematics and probability are anything to go by, it is impossible to foretell such events especially before a long period of time because the variables that are involved in the event are almost infinite. Heck, I can't even guarantee that there will be such thing as The Olympics in twenty years, let alone what will happen in them.
