I love how he handled the Tevez question, he didn't upset anyone. Very intelligently put Mr.Boas.

He's better than Mikel.

Lampard Shutting the media up at Mestalla?

It's the second time this week I read in several papers that we're going for Sami in Jan. We are supposedly considering making a 20m bid: http://www.mirrorfoo...icle806042.html http://www.tribalfoo...chelsea-1913462 I think this all came from the rumor that Khedira and morinho had a disagreement after the Levante game. For me he's a great player, who's a vital part of a great german generation of footballers. Plus he is still young and can improve even more. Opinions? PS: I know there's another Sami Khedira thread, but that one is locked.

Never really noticed before. Come to look at it, I have to say the Blue look more chelsea-like.

Cech was great in several saves, but he did make a huge mistake by coming out and not getting the ball, he was drawn away from his goal and Lampsy had to clear it from infront the empty goal. So I went for Frank instead.

I'm sorry, I thought you were implying that he shouldn't start anymore for Chelsea. -
Phill Jones, Mica Richards, Sagna...spring to mind.

Luiz was exceptional, cech was amazing but I had to go with.......Kalou.

Lampard Shutting the media up at Mestalla?

No but the media would have him retire immediately and claim that he no longer has a place at chelsea. He still has a lot to give to the team, his experience alone is a great weapon. He should be part of our rotation in the midfield just like everybody else; He should start in some matches and be benched for others. I think he showed in Valencia that if he is rested for a game, he can perform well in the next. -
That is exactly why I think Meireles won't play as holding midfielder. If not romeu the surely Mikel will start imo.

I think first half his performance mirrored the teams average performance. I thought he was good defensively, but offensively the whole team struggled because mata, malouda and Torres weren't making runs and proper movement off the ball. -
If you are convinced that a player will under perform, then that is exactly what you will see him do. I suggest you try watching the next match Lampad features in without any prior judgements because you are seeing only what you want to see in my opinion.

I think we will all agree that Fabregas is a great midfielder. He also happens to be Arsenal's pen taker. Here's his stats: 2009-2010 19 goals 19 assists 2010-2011 9 goals 17 assists Pretty close to Lampsy's stats, Frankie's are even a little better imo.

You make it sound like it's war between Josh and Frank. They can both play a fair amount of games during the season. Lampard needs to play less games and help with the rotation in the middle. Besides Josh is still not ready for some games imo, for example against Stoke at britania or yesterday at the Mestalla. -
Not necessarily...he can be another malouda but on the right.
-
He left us exposed sooo many times, if luiz wasn't so quick we would've payed for his inadequate defending. I think if we had a better option at RB, Bossingwa would make a descent winger.
-
The past couple of weeks the media frenzy over Lampard was just ridiculous imo. He's 33yo it's only normal that he gets rested more often. And though his performances so far have not been up to his usual standards, the media insist on portraying him as a player who's not good enough to play in the EPL; And what's even more frustrating is that opinion has been echoed by some chelsea fans. But yesterday our legend had the best way to silence haters. He scored, made 2 great passes that should've been assists, and was probably our MOTM. I think he is a long way from being over at chelsea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7jgKIQCEjI&feature=feedu Eveyone: Agree? Disagree?
-
Yeah but Ruiz really should've finished better..
-
He is our best attacking option at RB.

I don't blame AVB. It is easy to criticize when you have no idea how hard his job is. In a top team like chelsea, the manager has the mission impossible of keeping everyone happy. I bet AVB thought that an appearance in CL would silence kalou who no doubt has been whining about not playing. And it was for 5 mins, it's not like AVB counted on Kalou for the whole match. Who knew he would pull such a bonehead move?! Besides a draw is a good result, and I think we would've all taken it before the match.
-
Except for the Torres-header-save, which was out of this world, I thought all their keeper did was get his positioning right. Our strikers didn't work the angles right and made his job a lot easier.
-
He's simply a legend. Despite being sacked, he's. always the only commentator/analyzer on British TV talking of chelsea in a positive manner.
-
AVB handling the press superbly as always: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09KlBGHuZZY&feature=feedu "The refereeing? Nothing new to chelsea." We were unlucky not to win yesterday due to some very poor finishing and a couple of pens that weren't given, but I think AVB was feeling a bit guilty for his last sub.

Hahaha. I think that's the Daily Mail's headline today!
