  1. I guessthe value would be not having to endure another Torres performance.
  2. Mikel is still banned. Oscar has to start, he and Lampard are our only available options at CM. Azpi will start as well since Iva and Luiz are our only available CBs. Marin could start, though I think Rafa will be under too much pressure to win this to bench hazard or Moses.
  3. Looks like Danny is fit. I hope he starts, can't tolerate seeing ladyboy in our attack again.
  4. No chance of any coming out with idiots like these still around. Still a long long way to go to get rid of racism, especially when something like this doesn't even get 1% the media coverage and public condemnation that something JT said in the heat of a match.
  5. Dawn?! You win. I'm not getting up at dawn.
  6. I was hoping for a good discussion about formations and tactics and sadly got yet another Mikel 'debate', if you can call it that. No offence to the opening post, but I stopped reading when you said Tiote is better than Mikel. Luckily @Rmpr, managed to steer this topic back on track. Thank you! I agree that there are very small differences between formations like 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-1-4-1, 4-3-2-1...etc When you get on the pitch it's all about the players and how they move and where they like to play. The shape changes completely depending on the players and the situation. Our current problem is not the formation. There is no formation that can magically solve all of our problems. Our problems are lack of squad depth, lack of quality in some areas (I'm looking at you Torres!), injuries and suspensions and mostly absence of team spirit since Robbie left.
  7. I reckon Rafa will be under pressure after loosing the WC and will go with his best XI for this one, which with our current injuries and suspensions would still be a patched up side. Probably this: Cech Azpi - Iva - Luiz - Cole Oscar - Lampard Moses - Mata - Hazard Torres

  12. The Loan Report: December 10-16 Nathaniel Chalobah celebrated his 18th birthday this past week and did so in style as he grabbed his second goal of the season for Watford. He headlines the latest edition of the Loan Report. The England Under-21 international hasn’t been in the best of form lately with some shaky and sloppy performances, but it was always prudent to remember his tender age and overall excellence throughout the season. He offered a timely reminder of his capabilities away to Burnley on Saturday with a stylish and well taken strike to open the scoring for Gianfranco Zola’s Hornets. A cross was only cleared to the edge of the box, where the Chelsea man was waiting to steer a low volley back into the back of the net. A booking followed two minutes later for kicking the ball away – something he’s previously been carded for this season – and unfortunately he was forced out of action at half time with a knock picked up shortly after Burnley equalised. Elsewhere, Tomas Kalas also had a storming weekend for Vitesse in the Eredivisie as he provided a pair of assists from right-back in a 2-2 draw with RKC Waalwijk. The Czech international planted two absolutely beautiful crosses onto the capable heads of Wilfried Bony and Simon Cziommer, who duly converted. It was the latest in a series of impressive performances from Kalas and at this stage, he really isn’t being challenged by the level of competition in the Netherlands and may look to take the next step in January, having been linked to a Bundesliga move earlier in the season. Patrick van Aanholt continues to come along well at left-back and was in fine form against RKC himself, almost grabbing himself a second-half goal. Gael Kakuta made it three Chelsea starters for the Gelderlanders but after being so impressive in recent weeks, he had a quieter time of it and was substituted during the second half. Amin Affane saw a handful of minutes off the bench in Roda’s goalless draw with NAC Breda, whilst Kenneth Omeruo and ADO Den Haag battled bravely for 90 minutes but lost out by the odd goal in five away to Feyenoord in the closing moments. Romelu Lukaku got fifteen minutes off the bench for West Brom in a dull 0-0 draw at home to West Ham United. Josh McEachran and Middlesbrough continue to roll towards their aims of promotion back to the Premier League as they beat Wolves 2-0 at the weekend. McEachran played the full 90 minutes having been afforded a midweek rest as Boro exited the Capital One Cup in the Quarter Final stage away to Swansea City. Sam Hutchinson remains sidelined through injury and Ben Gordon remains sidelined through choice at Birmingham City. He didn’t even get an Under-21 game under his belt this week as their trip to Leeds United fell foul of the weather. Patrick Bamford has still not been able to return to full training after a hamstring injury and so missed MK Dons’ win over Hartlepool United, whilst Conor Clifford (unused sub) and Todd Kane (not selected) were also out of action in League One weekend action. Archange Nkumu has also left Colchester United and returned to Chelsea ahead of schedule. Sam Walker continued in goal for lowly Bristol Rovers in League Two and watched his team’s wretched defence help gift York City four first-half goals in a defeat which leaves the club in the relegation zone and cost manager Mark McGhee his job. After playing twice in two days last weekend, Jeffrey Bruma was back on the bench for the duration of Hamburg’s 3-0 loss away to Bayer Leverkusen this weekend. With midfield options slowly coming back to fitness, Dennis Aogo was able to return to left-back, meaning Thorsten Fink had no room for Bruma or no need to use him in an emergency situation. He is another contender to shift clubs next month, with widespread interest from Holland reported last week. Kevin De Bruyne has had no such problems in finding playing time at Werder Bremen and took his usual place against Nurnberg on Sunday afternoon. He provided his fifth assist of the season as his shot deflected in off striker Nils Petersen for a very, very late equaliser. Thibaut Courtois has also never lacked action at Atlético Madrid but faced his biggest test of the season so far as Diego Simeone’s team headed to the Nou Camp to take on Barcelona. Regardless of his world-class potential, such a fixture is rarely likely to be kind to any goalkeeper and four excellent finishes from Barcelona ensured that the Belgian ended on the losing side for just the second time this season. In La Segunda, Ulises Dávila started yet again for the season’s surprise package Sabadell and played his part in a 1-0 win away to Racing Santander. The Mexican played 90 minutes again and is looking increasingly comfortable in European football, something Vitesse noted was a big reason for his lack of first-team minutes last season. It’s a shame the same can’t be said for Jhon Pírez. You know the drill by now… The same fate continues to befall Matej Delac, who is serving as backup goalkeeper for a third consecutive season and must wonder why he ever agreed to leave Inter Zapresic a few years ago. He watched on alongside Milan Lalkovic as Vitória Guimaraes lost 2-1 away to Pacos de Ferreira, and again, both could do with a change of scenery sooner rather than later. Our final stop is Belgium, where Thorgan Hazard helped Zulte-Waregem to a 3-2 win over Genk in what must now be classed as a title challenge campaign. The creative midfielder played half an hour in the midweek cup fixture played between the same two teams – won 5-0 by Genk – but laid on a pass for Franck Berrier to lash in from the edge of the box to help Essevee on their way to three more league points on Saturday, cementing them in second place in the Jupiler League. The Loan Report: December 10-16 http://thechels.net/2012/12/the-loan-report-december-10-16/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

  16. Yesterday felt like the girl I love broke up with me. Chelsea broke my heart

  18. hedgehoguk, Leeds all the way, Spudface, Metalman, dunny_lufc and Carlos Fandango from Leeds United Fan Club as well as NottinghamWhite, Simamu, 18longleeds, sheepy and Pecky10 from LUFCTalk have all kindly agreed to answer a few short questions ahead of our match against Leeds on Wednesday. Here is some of what they had to say: - Firstly, how long have you been a Leeds fan? hedgehoguk- All my life! Though first game and so the first time I really followed it was 1990.Metalman- Since the late 60'sdunny_lufc- my dad almost missed my birth for a leeds game, then my first game was at 3 so all my life basically!!spudface- 34 yearsSimamu- 10 years (I'm 15) - What have you made of your season so far? And where do you think you can improve? 18longleeds- solid start and to be honest the way the summer was , it has been better than i expected and hopefully it is a platform to build on with some good additions in January. Pecky10- I actually am quite happy with where we are at; I think there's a danger of teams at the top being targets for lower teams "they're top, let's do them" and we get enough of that motivation for just being Leeds so I'll be more than happy with loitering outside the play-offs and a charge from April. We will be this season's Reading. We're a bit dodgy at the back in places though NottinghamWhite- Bates won't spend money and hopefully GFH will spend in the January window. We have a great manager for this division and given the funds will get us promoted. dunny_lufc- hit and miss. at times we have been world beaters and at others looked like relegation fodder!! i think an improvement would be to add some more depth to the squad - not just numbers but real first team contenders.Leeds all the way- Dissapointing on balance. Think Warnock has made some costly mistakes. Midfield is mediocre, needs sorting in Jan. We also need to get Peltier away from left-back and captaincy. - How do you rate your chances of making the playoffs this season? Pecky10- Good but this division doesn't have a stand-out team this season and there's plenty of average clubs capable of taking points off one another so if anyone can put a run together they can get play-offs or higher. We can definitely do that. Sheepy- It's do-able, after all, anything is possible when its only December. Just look at Reading last season. Carlos Fandango- Making the playoffs is within reach, automatic promotion is doubtful. Promotion via the playoffs? I'm not putting any money on it, though that might change after the January transfer window.dunny_lufc- if we keep our current form going till after new year we will be in with a real chance.hedgehoguk- If were in touch come January then I think we will make them. - Who has been your best player so far this season and who should we look out for? Leeds all the way- Young starlet Sam Byram. Despite playing most games at right-back, he is a dangerous player and is forming a strong partnership with right-midfielder Paul Green, also connects very well with El-Hadji Diouf. Diouf and Ross McCormack, depending on whoever plays, are both good players with unique attributes. Expect Thomas to threaten with his pace and Becchio can always score goals.Metalman- Have been impressed by Sam Byram so far. One for you to be aware of? Luke Varney! NottinghamWhite- Sam Byram, a youngster that has the makings of a great player Simamu- ? El-Hadji Diouf has been our best player but Sam Byram has been our breakthrough player from the academy. Our best mifielder, Rodolph Austin, is injured (lucky for you). 18longleeds- as above i would say Diouf is up there but Byram for a young lad as come in at the deep end and been immense has to be one of the first names on the team sheet. (go away Abromovich) - Do you still consider Chelsea as rivals despite playing in a different division? Sheepy- Historically yes, but since we are not in the same division you are off the radar really. Pecky10- I'm not one of those fans that hate a number of clubs, I really couldn't give a toss what other Yorkshire sides are doing and only regard Scum as proper rivals so in all honesty, I want to beat you guys no more than any other team (apart from Scum). NottinghamWhite- Yes hate Chelsea, went to both the FA Cup Final and replay in 1970 and have never liked you since. Your 2nd in the teams I hate but still some way to go to overtake Scum, man utd to you Carlos fandango- No, it's about time that the press stopped dragging up the 70s nonsense.Metalman- Chelsea have not been rivals for years. Though there is still a lot of historic anti-Chelsea feelings at ER which will be evident on Wednesday night. - Chelsea are likely to be tired and jet lag on Wednesday from their trip to Japan do you think you can take advantage of that? hedgehogik- If there ever was a perfect time to play you, now is it.Leeds all the way- Hope so, we need something to go our way. I think Benitez has too much to prove to take this game lightly.dunny_lufc- you would hope so. I always think that championship teams have the advantage over premier league teams when it comes to fitness and work rate for the simple reason that we play more games! for example the league 1 team (leeds) that beat man u in 2010 out worked them in every position and ended up playing something like 50 games that season in total.NottinghamWhite- Your team of over paid super stars will not know what has hit them when they go on the pitch. Our crowd will be our 12th man Sheepy- No, we are talking about professional footballers. When I was a young un I would play 7 nights a week and never feel tired. - If you could have one Chelsea player at Leeds, who would it be and why? Pecky10- Torres. We need another striker who can do more than score from the six-yard box which is Becchio's strength. The days of players like Lineker getting 20-30 goals a season from less than 12.01 yards are long gone; we need a player with movement, pace and football intelligence to play alongside the likes of McCormack and Diouf and he'd do nicely. Sheepy- Lampard - he would bring us experience and international quality. Perfect for us, perfect for him I reckon. Simamu- Ramires. dunny_lufc- not a player but the phsio. an actual player though, i would have to say juan mata, he is world class!! the type of play maker every team needs and he can finish too, whats not to like?hedgehoguk- Hazard - has the flair we lack, looks immense and can win games on his own - What lineup and formation is Warnock likely to put out on Wednesday? Will he rest players or start his strongest XI? Metalman- I hope he plays a strong team. To put one over on Chelsea sould give us the confidence for that play-off push. Mind you, when we knocked ManU out of the FA cup the other year, our league foorm suffered. Wierd things, footballers...Carlos fandango- Colin wants a trip to Wembley and some silverware so it'll be the best team available and 442NottinghamWhite- Kenny Byram Lees Pearce Drury Green Norris Brown White Diouf McCormack He won't rest players will see this competition as something the team can progress in 18longleeds- Ashdown Drury Lees Pearce Byram Thomas Norris Tonge Varney Diouf Mcormack rest Becchio and Kenny and possibly Peltier Pecky10- He says he'll rest some players; I'd feel sorry for Ashdown if he didn't play as he's played all the other cup games (keeper) and I live in hope he might think Peltier might need a night off. Tate is cup-tied so Pearce will be back in with Lees. I don't see massive changes but he might start with Diouf and Macca leaving Becchio on the bench (for reasons previously outlined) - Finally, please predict the scoreline. Sheepy- 1-2 defeat. 18longleeds- narrow 1-2 loss although after seeing them today chance of an upset has been made more realistic. Simamu- 2-1 Leeds Carlos fandango- I'll go for a draw as you're knackered and a battering at your place in the replay.Metalman- 2-1 Leeds. A battling performance and a semi final against the mighty Bradford.
