No idea where you got that from but it's the first I've heard of this.

I wasn't even aware of such a thing as a homophobic gesture! How the hell to you call someone gay with your hand?

I was talking purely on ability and not price, but I don't want to go off topic here.

You do realize when I say stuff in a discussion about a debatable issue where the opinions are divided (i.e. there are no absolute facts), it makes them my opinion. It's like when I say for example "Sturridge is better than Torres", I would not be claiming that is a fact but merely stating my opinion. It is the same as saying "I think Sturridge is better than Torres" but the "I think" part is omitted to show my confidence in my opinion but it is still an unproven opinion. It's just my opinion but I would rather have Cavani, Ibra or Van Persie in my team over Radamel. But this is neither the place nor the time for this debate.

Fucking Spike, always has a point!

Best striker in the world? Matter of opinion. It's still A LOT of money on one player which makes it a massive risk. Exactly what I'm saying. We won't sign him because we can't afford to. All the rumors are probably media bullshit, so don't get your hopes up.
-
Yes I did, you can go back to the threads and check. And what do those deals have to do with this? Are you saying that because we over-paid and were ripped off for many deals in the past we should allow ourselves to be ripped off and pay over the top for Falcao as well?!
-
Obviously very few numbers are known for sure, it's all estimates. By that same logic, how can you want Falcao here when his cost could be 10 billion pounds? But what we do know is that we made less than 1m profit last year despite the huge CL money and despite spending much much less on transfers than we already have this season, which would make it a fairly logical conclusion to say with some certainty that can't afford Falcao unless one of the numbers involved turned out to be far from from the logical estimate such as the Gazprom deal being for hundreds of million of pounds or the actual price of Falcao being something like 5m instead of 50. And the success we had, as amazing as it has been, does not mean that the board has done everything perfectly. Would you say that it was a good job to pay 50m and 175k/wk for Torres because we managed to win the CL eve though he contributed next to nothing to that achievement? Point is there are countless variables to our success and it does not mean that we got every one of the right. There are some decisions, especially financially and in transfers, that have been terrible, at least in my opinion.

Why does someone have to curse at the other team whenever I do Opposition Views?! You make it impossible for me to go back to their forum the next time we play them

Jayemdubbya, Sacro, and AVFC nigel from http://avillafan.com/site/'>AVILLAFAN were kind enough to answer a few questions ahead of our match on Sunday: First off, how long have you been a Villa fan? Jayemdubby- Since 2006 when I started following football. Sacro- All of my 26 years.. AVFC nigel- Since around 1968 What have you made of Villa's season so far? Where do you think you can improve? Jayemdubby- Its about what I expected. A building process. I think we're moving in the right direction, and a potential trip to Wembley is proof. Sacro- Up and down so far, just starting to find our rhythm. AVFC nigel- Pretty much as I imagined. A topsy turvy start, due to all the changes, but we're beginning to get it together now. How do you rate your chances of survival this season? Jayemdubby- 100% we are staying up. Sacro- Never in doubt, it was always going to take time for Lambert to get a group of kids and 8 new signings to gel. AVFC nigel- Never been worried. Who has been your best player this season and who should we look out for? Jayemdubby- Bent.........TEKEEEEEEEEE! An absolute gem and top class player. Sacro- Benteke and Weimann have been quality together. if you play Luiz in the midfield Holman won't give him a seconds rest and he's liable to lose possession for you quite often. AVFC nigel- There have been a couple of standouts for me. Obviously Benteke will be number 1, but Guzan, Westwood, Baker, Clarke all deserve a mention. You are in good form after an impressive win at Anfield last week while Chelsea's form has been up and down under Rafa. Do you think this is the best time to be coming to the bridge? Jayemdubby- Yes. SImilar to last year when there was a bit of turmoil surrounding your club. You all seem to despise Rafa, and I have no idea what to expect from the form of your club. Sacro- Chelsea are the kind of team who will either run away and win 5 - 0 or collapse and lose it completely, I don't think there is a good time or bad, I never expected you to do Leeds the way you did, I thought you'd lose that game. AVFC nigel- Still got shed loads of quality at the Bridge so it's never an easy time to come. What do you make of the current Chelsea team? Good enough to be challenging at the top level in the next few seasons or not quite? Jayemdubby- Talent wise? Absolutely. I think the way your owner runs things kills the progression though. I never thought RDM was great, but he didnt deserve the sack, just like Ancellotti didn't, although Ancellotti was more than twice the manager RDM was. Sacro- Easily good enough to be challenging for the title if you look at the squad sheet, your biggest downfall is the Russian upstairs, egomaniac who can't let the managers manage without constantly looking over their shoulders. But yeah, top 3 for the forseeable future. If you could have one Chelsea player at Villa, who would it be? Jayemdubby- We could bring Sturridge home, or make up for MON's idiocy and bring back Cahill, but my vote would be Mata. Great player. Sacro- Mata. AVFC nigel- Go to be Mata What line-up and formation would we most likely see from Villa on Sunday? Jayemdubby- 3-5-2/5-3-2 whatever you want to call it. Sacro- 3-5-2 AVFC nigel- 3-5-2 Finally, please predict the result. Jayemdubby- I never pick us to lose. 3-2 Villa! Sacro- 2-2 AVFC nigel- Can see us getting something 1-1 or 1-2 to the Villa http://www.talkchelsea.net/_/opposition-views/aston-villa-opposition-views-r184'>Click here to view the article

I made a the comparison of our expected income and expenses a few pages back but I can't find it now. Bottom line is, taking into consideration everything, the most important factor being the departure from the CL, there is no way we can afford this unless that Gazprom deal is worth at least 40m/yr which is not possible because that's barely what we get from Samsung. LOL seriously? We have a bunch of a few of the most overpaid athlete's in the world, that is not taking into account paying over the odds for almost every deal not the least of which was the 18m for Bosingwa and obviously the 50m flop. So you must be an accountant who works for UEFA because you know that we can afford to buy Falcao, right? I am as entitled to my opinion as much as you are. And have some respect to the person you are discussing, you're already one slip away from a ban. EDIT: This was the post I was talking about: A few logic gaps: 1) The transfer fee does not have to be uniformly divided on the length of his contract neither do we have to give him 5.5 years. But let's over look this point because both could be possible. 2) Josh and PVA are not adequate replacements for Lamps and Cole, at least not at the moment. 3) Our squad is very thin and we need reinforcement not just at ST but in several other areas. 4) Our expenses this year have been far more than last year. This year we bought the likes of Moses, Oscar, Hazard, Marin and Azpi who cost a whole lot more than last season's signings who, apart from Mata who cost 23m IIRC, were relatively cheap deals. 5) Last and most important, we got 47m for winning the CL last season but we'll only get 3.9m for making the group stages this season. And even if we win the EL we will only get 3m. That is 40m less than we made last season! There is no way that the deals we made can cover the this deficit, we'd be lucky to even be getting 15-20m a year from those deals. That is still a 20-25m less than our income last season unlike the article that assumed that we would have about the same income. Sorry boys, but this is written in hope rather than logic.

Tone it down a bit please. I know it's a joke, but it's getting over the top. We do have underage and conservative members who don't want to read stuff like that.
