I just watched the match vs Blackburn, and I have to say I do not understand all the criticism he got in the match thread. I thought he did very well with his dribbling and movement and was very unlucky not to get on the score sheet on several occasions. The lad is turning into the new scrapegoat

If Malouda, or any other of our players, can' make this match, we won't have a full bench.

NO. Essien has lost the pace to play at RB. Besides he has only played well there in a single match (against Valencia in the CL) out of many times Mou tried him there.

Choosing the right loan for him will probably define his career. It is absolutely vital we do not send him to a team where he will not start.

I hope the comming pre-season has the same effect the last one had on him. I hate to say it, but he has done nohing since AVB left to justify a place in the CL final starting XI.
