  1. Scapegoat? Come on, his thread is one of the least active from our first team players. In fact, if you go through this thread you will mostly just see praise and comparisons with JT. If anything his mistakes are usually overlooked by the vast majority of Chelsea fans.
  2. It was said that he'll be out for a month so he's probably still a couple of weeks away from recovery.
  3. Why does his name become "Abd El Razak Traore" in Arabic?!
  4. How about you discuss with some respect and not call my opinion crap?
  5. He said that we made the bid of Torres plus cash for Cavani which we obviously never made since their president said we never contacted them. And yes he does make predictions just like all other journalists. When he says that Jovetic to Juve is a done deal and a couple of weeks he moves to CIty, or Isla to Inter is done and the very same day Conte says that Isla is going no where, then he was making a prediction that the deal would go through and he failed. He is just a journalist, just like Palmeri. When clubs or agents want to reveal information, they don't do so to one journalist alone. He is just puts 2 and 2 together and makes a prediction like the fact that Eto'o is likely to leave Anzhi and that his former manager is at Chelsea who are in for a striker and he comes up with stories and adds his "inside sources" or "his agent said". It is no different than you and me making predictions. You are free to believe him though if you want to. But personally I choose to believe what Jose actually said publicly to all the media: It's Rooney or bust.
  6. I can't really argue with that, tbh. I was near the border last week, and you can literally tell where Lebanon ends and the occupied part of Palestine starts by how much more it is organized The Lebanese side is made up mostly of a forest, half of which is burned and a few random houses. The other side is divided into neat squares. You get, for example, a square that is all planted with Orange trees, then a square of wheat, then a square with identical houses..etc.
  7. Yes he did say it. I distinctly remember he did. He also got most of his "predictions" wrong this summer. Especially in Italy regarding deals like Jovetic to Juve, Isla to Inter..etc.
  8. I've only read "A Brief History Of Time" before this. And even if it is outdated, it is brilliantly written and explained. A book doesn't become the most sold popular science book in history by accident. I've also watched his documentaries on Discovery and they were very good as well. In "The Grand Design", he's not talking about a theory of his but rather one of the latest theories in cosmology: The M-Theory; and he speaks about the 7 "hidden" dimensions as they are an integral part of it. But, tbh, if I did not already have a very good idea what M-Theory is, the book would probably have left A LOT of logical gaps for me. For a book about M-Theory, it talked a lot about other theories and very little about this one. To be honest, I'm still not very convinced with the implications of the "Relative Realism" which is at the heart of the theory. It just sounds to me like an over-sophisticated way to say "I don't know"
  9. Looks at some of the squads in the PL, I guess I'm going to have to settle for 3rd or 4th place again. Just can't compete with the squads of X-Rated and Blues Ultras.
  10. Well that settles it. They're definitely going down!
  11. Very overrated. In terms of contribution to the field, he's no where near the top 10-15 in the past century. I think even he'd admit that. I don't think the fact that his theories have been disproved says much; countless theories have been disproved in the past 50 years. Sometimes you feel the field is moving a bit too fast. I was actually expecting more of the book not because of his theories, but rather his reputation of writing great popular science books. Hawkings is overrated because of "A Brief History Of Time" and, I don't want to sound cynical but, his disability as well. But he has contributed to the field and he certainly has played a big role in making cosmology as popular as it is today. I am firmly in the middle ground when it comes to Hawkings.
  12. I have to say, the panic on here is rather hilarious This is an ongoing saga and these type of stories in the news are normal. Last week the news was that Rooney told his teammates that the deal is done and this week the news is that the deal has broken down. It's completely normal, everyone wants to sell papers.
  13. Some banter is always welcome on TC, but let's keep it under control and away from personal insults, guys.
  14. Hopefully it's just a bruised knee and there is no ligament damage.
  15. Completely agree. I see him more of an Eto'o than a Drogba.
  16. I didn't see it, but read about it on twitter. Was it that bad? I hope it's nothing serious or it could mean that he won't go on loan till January.
  17. Thanks, mate. It's my pleasure Off topic, but I actually think he would. Rooney loves to get on the ball and get involved, and he'll be able to do that much more if he plays just behind the striker. He also likes to link-up with another striker at the edge of the box rather than play as an isolated striker alone. I think he'd cherish the chance to play that second striker role. And among our current strikers, Lukaku is probably the best to partner him. Ba prefers to be the lone target man and Torres is...well Torres!
  18. Finally got my hands on Hawking's "The Grand Design" a couple of days ago and just finished it. It is ridiculously hard to find good books in Lebanon! It was a decent read, but a bit if a let down for me to be honest. I expected it to be a lot better. It did not at all convince me of the validity of the M-theory.
  19. 12m that would reach 18m with addons. At least that was what was reported by the media.
  20. Agreed. But signing Rooney might change the whole equation. It will mean that there will be less games for Romelu to start, but it might also mean that he will get more time off the bench because I signing Rooney will give Jose a better chance to change to 4-4-2 as his plan B. Hopefully Romelu will be given the playing time he needs to develop.
  21. Could see them start one of the game the two games each with Romelu coming on as a sub in both games. I personally would like Lukaku to start against Villa as they usually leave more spaces behind them. Hull will park the entire city, let alone the bus, in front of their goal. I'd rather Ba starts the Hull game.
