  1. I don't think it's about being relentlessness but rather how to conserve a lead and reduce the chances of conceding with the least effort. Jose proved that to be a very effective tactic in the PL in his first stint here. Whether or not we'll see that often this time around, we'll just have to wait and see.
  2. Thought he was good today. Very good movement and hold-up play.
  3. I won't make predictions as to what will happen, but I'm not at all surprised that this is what we did today because that is vintage Chelsea Mourinho. The EPL is completely different than La Liga. Don't expect to see his Madrid tactics being implemented here too often.
  4. But that's the whole point. You are more likely to concede if you do go for the 3rd.
  5. I think 4 or 5 players at most of the players who started today will start on Wednseday. If anything, the game against united will tell us more about who Jose prefers.
  6. Well his Chelsea team played exactly like that. We'd score a goal or two and kill the tempo of the game and deny the other team from creating chances which is exactly what happened today. Apart from that mess in the box after the corner, Hull didn't have a single real chance.
  7. Are people really complaining about the second half? Do you even know Mourinho?!
  8. Brilliant first half. Could have scored 5 or 6. In the second half we looked to close the game and kill the tempo and we did just that. Good performance overall. Oscar my MOTM.
  9. Players are chosen into the team of the week based on their performance skill level.
  10. Blue Ultras drew with Eva Carneiro but still got the manager of the round award! Crazy. And I got a player in the team of the week!
  11. The pen was harsh, but the right call even if made for the wrong reasons. I think Szczesny should have been sent off for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity. That's the rule. Shearrer may not like it but that's the rule. Laurent deserved the second yellow. It was a late tackle and yellow card all day long. And that's exactly what the ex-international ref said in the Jazeera studio. I didn't see the Vlaar or Westwood challenges so I can't comment on them.
  12. The thing is, both refs made the same mistake. If a challenge merits a straight red card, for whatever reason, then you can't play on and need to give it straight away.
  13. He did get the ball with his left foot, but before that he got Agbonlahor's foot with his right knee. It was a pen. In fact, if anything, the ref helped Arsenal in the game because Szczesny should have been sent off for the first pen.
  14. This is completely uncalled for. Kojo was just expressing an opinion which he is perfectly entitled to. This kind of personal insults, in response, is unnecessary. You're a better poster than this, Weckerz..
  15. Venue: Chelsea face the newly promoted Hull City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 13th at 15:00 UK time. About The Match: The match comes in the opening week of the Premiere League 2013/14 season. It is Hull’s first game in the PL since May 2010; but more importantly it will be Jose Mourinho’s first time back at the Bridge as Chelsea manager since September 2007. All the eyes, on Sunday, will be on the Portuguese manager, whose return to the Bridge is likely to create an unbelievable all around atmosphere. The spirits in the Chelsea camp are so high at the moment, that many pundits nominated Jose’s return to be the catalyst that propels the Blues to the title this season. Let’s hope they’re right. But first, the journey of a thousand miles must start with the step of getting three points against Hull. Opposition Analysis: Hull finished second in the championship last season and consequently got direct promotion to the PL, after a very dramatic last day of the season. But despite that second place finish, Hull struggled for goals throughout the season. Their +9 goal difference was the worst of the top six teams in the championship and their 61 goals in 46 matches were the least among the top 12! Their best scorer was Robert Koren with 9 goals. But the game against Hull will not be a walk in the park by any means. It is always tough to play against newly promoted teams at the start of the season because, as Jose put it, they’ve just earned promotion and come into the game with winning mentality. They will likely set up for a draw, defend deep and look to frustrate Chelsea. Hull have also strengthened their squad immensely during the summer with the addition of players with premiere league experience like Huddlestone and Livermore from Tottenham and Dany Graham and Maynor Figueroa from Sunderland and Wigan. Latest Meetings: The last time we faced Hull at the Bridge goes back to 2009. Chelsea fell behind in the first half to Stephen Hunt tap in and required an inspired brace by Didier Drogba, the second of which in the 94th minute, to collect the 3 points. Team News: Chelsea are missing Tomas Kalas who got injured prior to the USA tour. David Luiz is also a doubt despite making the bench for Brazil in midweek. Azpilicueta and Moses are also unlikely to feature tomorrow as they are yet to train with the first team due to their involvement with their respective national teams; while Mata, who missed the last preseason game with a knee injury, is expected to be fit for tomorrow. Hull City, on the other hand, are only missing Quinn with a hamstring injury. Expected lineups: Chelsea: Expected to play the usual 4-2-3-1: Cech Iva Cahill JT Cole Ramires Mikel Mata Oscar Hazard Ba Hull: Expected to played a 4-3-3. Their line up from their last preseason match, an impressive 3-0 win over Real Betis, was: McGregor Elmohamady, Chester, Davies, Figueroa Koren, Meyler, Brady Aluko, Graham, Sagbo Stats & Facts: - Chelsea are unbeaten in all of their 4 encounters with Hull City in the PL (2W 2D). - Hull City last won a competitive fixture against Chelsea in October 1988. - Chelsea have won more points on the opening day fixtures of the PL than any other team (44 points). - The Blues have won 12 and lost none of their last 14 PL opening fixtures. - Fernando Torres scored three goals in two previous encounters with Hull City. Odds: According to SkyBet the odds for this match are: Chelsea win: 1/5 Draw: 11/2 Hull win: 16/1 TV Coverage: The game will be live on SkySports in the UK, FoxSport in the US and Al Jazeera in the Middle East. 16. Lol we have the same saying in Arabic!
  17. New season, united still win while performing like shit. Some things never change..
  18. The Jazeera Sport pundits are Mido and Ruud Guillet. Hardly counts for anything
  19. For those price and wages, of course!
  20. NO! Who'd score for us when we play Stoke if he does?!
  21. I have Begovic on the bench in my team :'( Idiot!
  22. Torres was playing because we cannot bench or sell him which is the board's fault.
