Let's be honest here for a second, Iva is what? 29 now? The peak of career is behind him, so to get 25m for him would be great business and he will probably be getting twice as much in wages. It's a win-win situation for both parties. I would take Monaco's offer.
-
Biggest game of his career so far. Best of luck Nathanial!
-
Great prospect and very versatile, he can play a B2B role as well as a DM role. Would be a good signing although he would be another slap in the face to our academy and the likes of Chalobah, Ake, RLC..etc
-
Did you really think you'll get a silver star before Juve?! Silly Roma fans...
-
^^ If we're going for someone from Lazio, Candreva would be my first choice. Excellent winger who offers something different than our current options. Would make a great squad player.

At least Frank was not injured so there was really no harm in him going to the US. I have nothing against the club selling shirts and making money, that after all is what football is about today, but when we chose selling shirts over the best interest of players, that is when question marks should be raised.
-
I lost the link now but I read several sources today saying he's going back to Belgium to work on his injury. I'm 100% sure he won't play against the US.
-
JT and Bertrand didn't go because they're injured, Eden went because he can sell a lot of shirts instead of resting and healing his injury as well. No he's not.
-
Exactly, I like the current system too despite all that was made in the Cole and Lampard sagas this season, I was honestly not too bothered because I believe that this system is taking us in the right direction. I honestly don't think that the Wenger and Ferguson models cannot be imitated nowadays even if we do give him full control over everything. I can already foresee a problem between Jose and the board regarding the contracts next season.
-
Another stupid money-driven decision to take Eden to the US when he could have been in Belgium healing from his injury. Smh.
-
I think I asked this once before, but since this is looking very likely now, I'll ask it again: How much power would you give Jose in the team? Personally, I have major reservations of getting him involved in player contracts. He completely screwed Inter over with the wages and length of contracts he offered for a group of players who were reaching the twilight of their careers.
-
Not fair! I know Jaimin is a Roma fan and Jason a closet inter fan, but I have no idea who you support in Italy so I can't tease you back! Sooo...how are you feeling, Jai?
-
Can we please stay on topic? Please, take the Essien debates to his thread and the petty fights to PMs. Thanks.

Intense pre-season to cost us next season?

And Torres with the arm band I said this in the match thread yesterday and I'll say it again: I realize that football is mostly about money these days, but I find it absolutely absurd that whenever the clubs financial benefit conflicts with the footballing benefits the club seems to always choose the first! -
Will be very interesting to see how Jose handles it if he really is coming..
-
Don't make me dig up those embarrassing tweets, Jay!
-
Hey, it's not my fault that your team would rather play UFC than football!
-
Thank goodness Jason is supporting Roma, now I KNOW Lazio will win it! He tipped Inter to win the Scudetto back in November :lol2:

The problem with Torres's first touch is more mental. He shows that he can have a great first touch when he gets the ball on the wing or in the half way line, it's just that when he's close to goal he shits himself and messes everything up. Even his passing and dribbling are technically excellent when he does them right. I never said that Hazard is not a good passer, just that his technique in passing is not perfect which are two different things as I attempted to explain in the Ramires example. You are mistaking technical ability for flamboyancy. For example, Claudio Marchisio and Niko Kranjcar are for me two of the best players I've ever seen when it comes to technical ability, but they are by no means the 'fanciest' players around.
-
I am a bit worried some players will die on the pitch! Going to be feisty! I have a feeling 'dirty' Roma are going to win, though
-
Technical ability is the how well players can execute skills on the ball such as passing, shooting, ball control, first touch...etc according to certain references that have come to be defined as the perfect way to execute those skills like how to execute a half-volley, or first time control or long pass..etc For example, Ramires does not have 'traditional' goo technical ability but he can still execute stuff, even at full speed but in his own style. (Tbf, Ramires is an exception to the rule because he was never part of an academy when he was young). Naturally, any player at this level must have good technical ability, but the players that have overall world class technical ability in our squad are for me Mata, JT, Lampard, Luiz, and to a lesser extent Oscar and Cole. Hazard has world class technical ability when it comes to ball control and dribbling, but I can't say the same for his passing. Mikel has world class technical ability when it comes to passing, but I can't say the same about his shooting and dribbling. PS: For all his faults, Torres still has excellent technique on the ball.

I'm more excited about this final than I was for the CL final last night. Should be a great match. Come on Klose, come on Lazio!
-
Go back to the previous page, Jaimin posted quotes of him saying that he would rather not go out on loan..
-
Played 3 different positions in one match and was excellent in every one of them! Very excited to see his involvement with the first team next season.
