  1. I think the lack of hype around him is because he does not have the natural talent and technical ability of the likes of Chalobah/Josh/RLC doubts inevitably rise about his ability to take these performances to in the Reserves to the next level.
  2. Sounds like a great loan for him. Hope he takes his chance.
  3. Rationality is not welcome in this thread, sir!
  4. Of course no one can dribble past him, he can just blast the ball from under their feet: Seriously though, I haven't seen him enough to judge, but when it comes to these "one-season wonders" I'd rather wait to see if he has a similar season next time around.
  5. His signings (and general decisions regarding the squad for that matter) wasn't that bad before Roman either. Although I admit I don't remember everything from back then so I might be mistaken.
  6. Was when I started following Chelsea and football in general. Here's a statement that probably belongs in the unpopular opinions thread: Ranieri did a much better job the transfer market than Jose did.
  7. No one has ever tried to buy Cech during hisChelsea days. Let's start calling him shit as well
  8. No that is completely different. Whether or not we signed Eden, Moses would have been a squad player and Piazon would have been loaned out regardless. This is like we should not sign Rodallega because we already have Moses.
  9. Oriol will be 22 by next season and he is not always injured. He literally had 2 injuries since joining us two seasons ago but he was unlucky that one of them was so long term. I won't go into the Josh debate here. Chalobah has had a pretty good season with his team too. I'm not saying that he is not currently better than all of them, just that we have our own young prospects who could become better than him. We can't just throw them away just because some young player had a good season with his team. What if we bought him and he found himself mostly rooted to the bench and young player X has an incredible season with his team. Do we throw him away too and get player X?! There will always be players having better seasons than your own players but you can't just keep spending to get the most hyped talent out there. I'm not saying you should not try to improve your team, but at some point you have to put faith in your players if you are to succeed as a team.
  10. 1) That depends entirely on the defensive system you plan on playing. 2) Of course you pick the best player but you just don't sign an incredible over paid striker when you already have one in your team because it would mean that you would paying someone ridiculous money to just sit on the bench. Instead, you try to fit them both into your team. 3) Rooney edges it for me because of his great defensive ability and immense work-rate in midfield. Mata is mostly a spectator when the ball is in our half.
  11. We have Oriol who's 22 and Chalobah who's 20 (and Josh who is 21). We can't always be the spoiled brats who throw away yesterday's toys whenever we see a new shinny toy in the hands of someone else..
  12. Mata played much of last season on the right wing. He can play and be just as effective on the right wing in 4-2-3-1 even though he can't play on the wing in a 4-3-3. We already have two strikers getting pain a combined 260k/wk, why in the world we get someone and pay him 250k/wk and put 260k on the bench? BTW, I disagree about who is better as a central attacking midfielder between Mata and Rooney but I realize that won't be a popular opinion here.
  13. Yes let's ignore both the official site and official twitter account (as well as several other reliable accounts) saying he is not fit on the day of the final. You sound like you're trying to convince yourself of your theory and not other people.
  14. I don't think Rooney will be coming here to play as a striker. Had we signed him I am pretty sure he would have played in his best position, imo, which is just behind the striker. We wanted an attacking midfielder who can cover at ST and we already got one in Schurrle.
  15. So we were never trying to pay 63m for one striker even though we already have a 50m striker in our team and even though we just bought a striker in Jan and even though Jose said we won't be spending big in the market and even though he went on to talk about how you need to be careful how you spend with FFP rules?! Shocking!
  16. You really think he'd just walk into the Madrid starting XI?!
  17. I can't see this happening now that we (more or less) signed Schurrle. It was always going to be one of the two, imo.
  18. He looks like a good prospect but we have a few youngsters about the same age as him who play the same position. We don't need another.
  19. His movement was clearly better than Villa who was playing against the same back line.
  20. Well they once scored 30 goals in one match, so does that mean they only scored 53 in their remaining matches since?!
  21. He did not say he would leave. But yes he wants a new deal which, tbh, he deserves. He is Juve's 'spoiled' little prince. Trust me, he'll get the deal he wants.
