Just stumbled over this pic.

Both of us can only speculate what the problem because ultimately we don't see the players train, we don't know what goes on behind the scenes..etc But I feel that whatever the problem was/is, the club has to take at least part of the blame (even if the problem is player mentality then that is something we should have helped those players with). It can't be a coincidence that all of the top prospects that we've had here have failed to transform their potential to actual ability.

Interview with CTV:

How would you know they would not have become good players had they gone to a club where they would have been a proper chance? It is just an assumption that their quality would show later because when we usually let them go they would have missed a huge part of their development. Admittedly it is also an assumption that they would have become great players had they been else where, but since we've had some of the highest rated youngsters in all of Europe like Josh and Kakuta and all of them have failed to become "good enough", I think it is only a fair conclusion to say that we are doing something wrong with those kids. On any account, this whole discussion is a bit irrelevant since we've recently been making much better use of the loaning system as is evident from the the players that are joining our first team squad this season that were on loan last season.

Will be interesting to see what kind of loan we'll be sending him on. I reckon he'll be very much in demand after his performances in the AFCONs and confeds. Can we possibly get him a PL loan?

Can't really remember much, but I had a feeling Hamsik and Holtby would have bright futures before a lot of people had heard of them.

Good choice by the board seeing as we already have Essien, Lampard, Mikel, Van Ginkel and Rami as central midfielders.

Yes Josh is a special case but it was still a huge mistake sending him out to Swansea. I don't think he would have been picked over Allen and Britton even if he had been sent from the start of the season, not at 18 years of age. Feruz has never played a single game at the top level, I think it is better to be safe than sorry because all this stuff we said about Josh only came in retrospective. Most of us thought it was a great loan for him at the time.

I was talking about rumors not when the media reporting when a transfer is done. All rumors are baseless. There are no such thing "sources" and "reported interest", the media has no idea when a club makes a bid unless the club decides to disclose it, it is all made up BS.

They are more reliable because they mostly report stuff after it's done. When they make predictions they are as unreliable as anyone else like when Sky said last week that we were bidding for Cavani a day before his move to PSG confirmed by the president of Palermo.

I'm rather glad that this is on Wednesday and not the weekend as I wouldn't have been able to watch it if it were. That is if you call a looking a lagging steam with about 4 pixels "watching"...
