We had a problem vs Newcastle and Jose was going to work out a solution. The best manager in the world knew that we needed to bench Frank Lampard. Trust Jose and me on this, we need someone who can pass and that is why Mikel will start every single game from now till the end of the season :D :D #PostLikePhill This is really fun, Phill, now I get why you do it!

You have to be kidding! Schalke are ten times the team that Newcastle are and let's be honest, the scoreline really flattered us. Schalke played very well and defended excellently while the game against Newcastle was probably the easiest match (bar Steaua) that we've played this season. There was so much spaces, no pressing, it was just so easy to go and score but we just failed to perform. Jose himself said so.

That save at 1-0....can't even describe how good and important that was! With Petr, it's like you're allowed a mistake at a crucial time in every match.

Made a couple of mistakes, but was fantastic otherwise. Excellent in the air today, as well.

He picked up a knock in training yesterday. Not sure if he will be fit for the weekend.

Willian created half our chances today. (3 of 6). Just brilliant.

Should never play the holding role again. He's so much better when he has the freedom to go forward.

A couple of mistakes in the first 10 mins when the whole team looked shaky, but was excellent apart from that. Him and Rami retrieved the ball very well something we've missed when lampard plays in the pivot. Another thing I noticed is that he was very good in the air tonight. Won a lot of headers. Keep it up John.

Great win, especially if you consider that Basel drew. And our striker actually scored! Some very good individual performances. Willian clear MOTM. Mikel and Rami retrieved the ball very well, especially in the first half. Apart from the first 10 mins, we never really looked troubled, theough Cech's save at 1-0 got us the 3 points. He made two big mistakes, though. One at the start of the game and one around 75 mins that was rectified by JT. Both could have lead to goals. But he did very very well other wise. Just can't be MOTM for me. He definitely can. He showed a glimpse with that sublime ball over the top for Schurrle in the first half. But I prefer him in the holding role handling the pressure.

Apart from the first 10 shaky minutes, we've looked very good defensively. Struggling a lot to break down a team that has 11 players behind the ball like we always do.

Not sure he's injured, though. Could be just dropped.

I'm guessing everyone who had to suffer through that performance vs Newcastle!

Can you tell me "objectively" who you think will start tonight? And this is the team I expect to start because Jose is expected to make a shock in the selection after his comments after the Newcastle game and expect that shock to be KDB.
