Oh FFS, this is getting beyond annoying. The guys hasn't even put a Chelsea shirt on and he's already said more about Chelsea and what the club and manager "should do" than Petr has done in a decade!

It also makes the league weaker, in terms of quality and more importantly in terms of the image, marketability and reputation of the league. If the league gets weak then so do all teams in it including Chelsea.

I know it sounds very cliche, but I'd hate to see him leave the EPL. He's a great asset and advertisement for not just City but the whole league.

Agree with that. There were games where Azpi and Iva were tired or on bad form (especially Iva) and Ash probably should have come in. But we were doing so well defensively, I can see why Jose was reluctant to make any changes at the back.

Like I said, I don't trust the media on those quotes, so I won't read into what he means based on them. If he means that he wants to become first choice and will work hard to make that happen then that's great, but if he means that he won't come back if there's any competition for his spot then, yeah, I got an issue with that.

I think you're actually right. He did join in 2011. So the link in the OP got it wrong on both occasions: his joining date and his homegrown status. Apologies.
