We almost always have to leave one or two players out of our CL squad list, and I don't think this year will be different. Too lazy to look over the rules again. But if we are going to leave someone out, the obvious choice would be Zouma.

I think all of central midfielders yesterday, him, Matic and even Cesc, were rather poor off the ball. The pressing was not coordinated and organized which left massive gaps in our defense which wasn't helped at all by all 3 of them making wrong positional decisions. It's still early days, but our pressing in this new 4-3-3 has been very dodgy so far.

Jose was referring the PL squad list. There are no "homegrown" and "foreign player" list in the UCL. There are "A lists" and "B list" with different criteria (such as "club trained" instead of "homegrown"). The UCL squad is usually more "exclusive" though I have no idea how we're doing in that regards, I think it is very likely that we'll leave players like Zouma out of it. But I am almost certain that we don't need to hand in the final list until after the end of the transfer window.

Are you talking about yesterday? He didn't lose a single 1vs1. In fact, in the first half, he came out several times and made crucial tackles and interceptions. I don't think any of our back four are to be blamed for any of the 3 goals we conceded yesterday, except maybe Iva for the third goal as he was supposed to be marking Eto'o.

The early indications are rather worrying for him. He hasn't made the matchday 18 squad in any of the matches so far. He should really take the loan to get playing time. After spending almost all of last season sidelined by injury, he needs regular football this season.
