  1. Can't judge today because I've missed most of the match, but on his past few performances, if he's been as bad as you claim, how come he keeps getting starts and has established himself as the main rotation player? Weren't you just saying: Well, Jose has put a lot of trust in the past month in Mikel.
  2. You couldn't even let a small praise by Jose go without making a comment that really added nothing (because Jose mentioned Mikel as an example of a squad player so he is actually saying that he is a bench player, but you just had to say it in a mean way) but insults the players abilities and efforts. If that is not hate then what do you call it? Dislike? Over-criticism? Obsession??

  4. As always, so much hate! I do think he was the best payer against Newcastle along with Didier and so did a lot of people, including, obviously, Jose. Obviously we have better options than him in that position in the team and so he is not going to be more than a squad player, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he was excellent in that game and has overall done good in the last 4 matches for us. You, and everyone, should be absolutely delighted that we have squad players who are willing to accept minor roles, cause no trouble about it and still train hard everyday, and then come up with good performances when called upon in the team. That's practically every manager's dream!
  5. That's an understandable opinion but it's certainly not a fact. I think Eden is indeed our best player followed closely by Cesc. Even now despite all the talent we have in the team, he is still, more often than not, the main source of danger and the catalyst to most of our moves. Even when he is not contributing goals and assists, his dribbling is still arguably our main method of creating space in the final third and the FKs he wins are invaluable to our attack. Heck, his mere presence just standing there creates spaces for others because teams always have someone marking him and another ready to close down when the ball comes near him. I think we tend to take for granted what Eden does on a regular basis that most players can only dream of. I know stats are never the whole story, but just look at the dribbles/ take-ons, passing in final third, chances created and fouls won stats; they're no coincidence. It is very clear to me that if this has a standout star it's obviously Eden.
  6. The pundits hailed them as "a joy to watch" and called them "amazing" They needed a 95th minute goal to get a point!
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvo-QmHqcW8 I seriously worry about Brendan's mental health....
  8. Rodgers actually just said that the pitch at Anfield is "awful" and "terrible"! Thoroughly enjoying how he's cracking up EDIT: Rodgers: "This was a better performance than the 5-1 last season." Just keeps getting better!
  9. Rodgers to come out and talk about how great they played and how they deserved to win but were unlucky...again
  10. Disappointing. If you're going to do that 'joke' at least go with "Where there's a Walters, there's a way."
  11. Are weekends really this boring when we have a Monday night match?!
  12. No, what matter is what actually happened and we all saw not what was said a year and half ago. Jose said he was ready which is very different from thinking he was ready which in retrospective he obviously was not.
  13. "All down to him" was the wrong expression there, but what I meant is that it matters more what he does than what the club does. He's been going to clubs where he's not far from the quality of the XI, so it's up to him to make his football count. "He was ready". Not really. I don't think he was nearly ready at the start of last season and that has been more than proven right in the past season and a half. If he were really ready at the time he would have taken the championship by storm or at least become a regular for Burnley. Very easy to throw the blame on the club rather than the lack determination and quality (yet) of the player himself.
  14. Problem is, it's a lot harder to park the bus effectively against City because they have Navas and Kolarov and people who provide genuine width with real pace and can put in quality crosses.
  15. This is obviously a matter of different tastes and opinions, but, to me, the home kit is perfection! Love absolutely everything about it.
  16. Still, he's no observer in all this. At the end of the day it's up to him to work hard in training to try to get a chance on the pitch and when he does he needs to take it. The loans have not been great after Watford. Forest was a terrible decision by the club especially that Watford wanted him back, but he still got plenty of time, especially at the start. I think there were some trouble in the background and he did not want to be there but that is still no excuse for his bad performances and disinterested attitude. He got better at Boro whom he chose IIRC, but still not to the level he was performing at Watford. And now Burnley: a PL club where he had a real chance of becoming a regular. You can't put the blame on the club for that. He got a chance early in the season when they were 2-0 down against WBA at HT. It was a real chance to put himself in the XI picture. He was just disastrous and they ended up losing 4-0 (one was directly from his mistake IIRC). Since then he's had several sub appearances but has not shown anything to get more time. Yes, the club has been far from perfect in deciding his loans, but he is not a blameless victim in the stagnation of his career. In the end it's all down to him.
  17. The race to save Peter Kassig This is a very sad but excellent and incredibly insightful piece in the Guardian. It's not a political opinion, just a very interesting revealing story. If you have 15 free minutes today, make sure you read this.
  18. True, though Barca seemed confident they have. Anyway, that was just an example. It happens all the time. They're pretty common in Italy and Spain.
