  1. Wtf, I moved this from the Announcement section to the Mathew Harding and now it appears in both, only just from the main page!
  2. I agree. But that type of players is an endangered species nowadays. Not many JTs, Drogbas and Cechs left in football.
  3. Weird, I read some saying he was our best player tonight. Even weirder those were the same people moaning about him during the match!
  4. 1. No worries. Gives me something to do! 2. Didn't mean you in particular, but our fans in general and even the way other fans and the media are portraying us as this favorites in every match. I don't like that. I like us being the underdogs. I think we will lose and it will most likely be against a team that we are well favorites to beat.
  5. Like I said, I genuinely really like the League Cup and I want us to win it every year. I think the fact that you can win it in February can really give you a much needed boost for the rest of the season. But the general consensus does not seem to agree with me and so the players always seem to be lacking motivation and concentration in it, especially against lower league teams. That has always been the case for us in this competition, at least for the past few years.
  6. No, don't think it has any significance at all, unless a bit psychologically maybe. Baker is not in the same group as Salah, Shurrle and Oscar and he won't be regardless of whether or how he plays tonight. I understand that you are probably upset by tonight's performance of those players (can't understand why, though, it's the league cup!) but you need to put this into perspective.
  7. I will. I will stop you from posting this in the completely wrong section Moved. On topic, I don't like at all when we get arrogant, because that is usually when we fall.
  8. Not surprising. In a league cup match against Shrewsburry, the senior players are either completely nonchalant or very selfish because they are desperate to score to get into the starting XI in the games that matter. Whereas the youngsters see this as one of their biggest games of the season! I like the league cup, and I really hope we win it, but it's just not important for the players.
  9. Meh, It's just the league cup. It's basically just a chance to give a couple of youngsters false hope that they could make it here! Very hard to motivate players for these kind of games and keep them concentrated.
  10. Won't relax until I actually see him on the field. Must not tempt the curse of the November slump!
  11. Cheers. Damn those are some scruffy goals! I guess anything will do in the cups.
  12. Are you on your period? As if making an appearance off the bench against Shrewsburry would have affected his future! He still has a looong long way to go if he wants to make it here which has nothing to do with tonight's game. He'll need to go out on a couple pf loans, do exceptionally well and then hope that the circumstances are right for him to be given a chance and that we don't already have several top-class players in his position. And that goes for all the youngsters.
  13. First game in November, against a team that we are supposed to beat, and a derby as well. I'd be lying if I said I'm not worried!
  14. Anyone got highlights? Vines of the goals? GIFs? Anything? I'll put up a poll, just need to find the lineup and subs first.
  15. So, Christensen starts instead of JT. Sue me! I think I was actually the closest one to the actual lineup.
  16. Hello, there. Don't usually get many reasonable QPR fans around here, so we'll try to savor the occasion! In all seriousness, welcome to TalkChelsea. We always love input from opposition fans around here. Typically, your team has remembered how to play football just before the match against us! That was some performance against Villa yesterday, I must say. But like you said, all bets are off for a derby game, could be a very close match. Looking forward to your contributions in the match thread.
  17. No, he traveled with the first team along with Brown, Ake and Baker. Boga and Solanke stayed and played with the U21s.
  18. Technically, Zola was not let go pre-Abramovic because Roman had already taken over when his contract was not renewed. In fact, a couple of years ago, Le Saux said in an interview that both him and Gianfraco were promised new contracts by the club if the team made it to the CL but Roman's arrival is what changed those plans.
  19. Played for the U21s yesterday. They still lost for the first time this season against spurs.
  20. He has an almost telepathic relation with Pirlo. Most of his goals are Pirlo putting him through with inch-perfect passes.
  21. That will be shaving it real close. Remy doesn't return for at least 10 days, add to that 6 weeks and you'll arrive at around 20 December. But what if his recovery takes a week longer than expected? Can we take the risk of having him miss the Christmas period? I'm not sure what our fixtures are but I think it is better to do it in Jan were the fixtures are usually thin and he'd be back before the knock-out stages of the CL.
  22. Sturridge the most because I feel bad about how the club and managers here treated him. Wouldn't call it regret, but I think the decisions to sell Kalou and not extend Ballack's contract proved to be mistakes.
  23. Neil Ashton is usually pretty reliable when he does not have an agenda behind his articles. I reckon it's probably true.
  24. Best attacking RB in the world at least stats wise (12 goals and 14 assists in the past two seasons). Why in the world would he sit on the bench? I can see why Jose would go for him to replace Ivanovic if he wants to continue with his current tactics of inverted right winger and the RB becoming the winger in attacks. But honestly, I would prefer someone younger, even if not as good as Stephan.
