  1. Flopping? He still hasn't regained full fitness since that illness. We knew that, Jose mentioned it a few times.
  2. Against a much weaker team with a lot less quality. Again we did NOT get dominated at home. They literally had 10 minutes where they managed to pin us back. We played badly but we were not humiliated in any way like Arsenal were when they lost 3-1 at home to Monaco. I know that it's 'in' right now to exaggerate in criticizing the team and the manager even though we've already won a trophy and are on track to completing an excellent season and winning back the league after 5 years, but seriously some are acting we should pack it up and just close the club down after a poor performance and elimination from Europe. And this was only highlighted yesterday with incredible double standards by football fans including our own and the blatant media hypocrisy when dealing with Arsenal's exit to a lesser team as compared to us. They employed insane tactics in the first leg and basically committed suicide and knocked themselves out of Europe, yet get portrayed as courageous fighters.
  3. That's not very far from what I wrote, so how is that "shameful" or worse than losing 3-1 at home to Monaco?
  4. I feel bad about our exit because we had it in our hands and couldn't see it out. If were that much worse than them in both games and still managed to only go out on away goals and through 2 late goals then we were doing at least something right in managing the game. PSG are an excellent side with a lot more quality than Monaco. And "completely dominated" is a huge exaggeration, imo. We played poorly and didn't press our advantage but PSG were not dominating. They had 10 minutes in the second half were they managed to press us back and keep the ball, but other than that they relied on set pieces they got from counters. You forget that we more than matched them in the first half in Paris and were on top in the first half at the bridge even before the sending off. We should be disappointed, but we have nothing too be ashamed of. It's not like we lost 3-1 at home to a team like Monaco!
  5. That has to be up there with the worst penalty shoot-outs ever. Feel bad for Kiessling, though.
  6. It matters in the discussion about the suggestion that was being made that we should feel more ashamed about our exit from the CL than Arsenal. Of course eventually it all means f*** all as we're both out of the competition. But people are acting like we should change the name of the club and move to another league because we went out on goal difference against a really good side while Arsenal are being portrayed as unlucky champions even though they got destroyed at home by a side, theoretically, much worse than themselves.
  7. "Admirable effort" "Great character" "English spirit" They can probably change the names and scorelines and publish an old article from the past few years
  8. I wasn't happy but I was by no means embarrassed, we were twice a few minutes away from going through. The majority of Arsenal fans I'm seeing right now are very far from proud. They remember that the reason that 2-0 away was not enough is that they got humiliated 3-1 at home to one of the worst remaining teams in the CL.
  9. Tottenham played the CL quarterfinal in 2011 against Real Madrid. Arsenal haven't reached the quarterfinals since 2010.
  10. We went out of the competition without losing a single match in it and to a much better team than Monaco.
  11. So, apparently, Arsenal are "unlucky to go out due to the ridiculous away goal rule that needs changing" while we "deserved to get knocked out because we drew at home"! Do British pundits and journos even read/listen to what they write/say?!
  12. Fact: Tottenham have reached the CL quarter finals more recently than Arsenal!
  13. "Brave performance" "Showed a lot of heart" "Proud display" "Heads held high" "Courageous" "Won the hearts" ....Just had a vision of tomorrow's papers
  14. Yeah, I remember because I watched that game. Was a superb performance by him.
  15. Didn't he score against them earlier this season?
  16. Here mate: https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2015/03/16/howthefbicreatedaterrorist/ If that doesn't work, it's an article in The Interacept today titled "How the FBI Created a Terrorist". Very interesting and revealingly. Well worth a read.
  17. On a different note, this is how the FBI literally creates terrorism in the US even though, as this article reveals, they themselves know that it is all an illusion and that the said terrorism would never exist have they not created it themselves: https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2015/03/16/howthefbicreatedaterrorist/
  18. On that analogy, not that is should pertain to the content of that statement, shouldn't Liberman himself be the immigrant? His family, and the families of the majority of people represent the 'us' in that statement, moved there less than 80-90 years ago while those he wishes to behead with an axe are the original inhabitants that have lived there for hundreds and hundreds of years. He and his 'state' are the immigrants in this case. For example, the prime minister, Natanyahu, who just vowed to increase illegal colonization in the Quds and extended the occupation as well as prevent the formation of a Palestinian state if he is reelected; he originally comes from Poland where his family has lived for hundreds of years before immigrating to Palestine in the past century. His father was born in Warsaw. Liberman himself was born in the Soviet Union and only immigrated in 1978. But, as I said, that should not affect in anyway the validity of that ridiculous statement. In the twenty first century that is not acceptable to hear from anyone anywhere in the world, let alone a minister in a country referring to peaceful opposition inside 'his' country. The fact that he was not content to call for the death of civilians but went as far as "beheading with an axe" is not only disgusting but also indicative of a state that, despite all the massive propaganda to picture it as a white dove-moral and peaceful, remains a state that has been induced through brutal violence and can only be maintained by brutal violence. I'd be equally appalled regardless of the political orientation of the person making that statement.
  19. How is the discussion of the goal that eliminated us from the CL unnecessary?! Like I said on the previous page, I voted him MOTM but he was, at least partially, at fault for the second goal, imo. The discussion is pretty valid. Certainly much more than the discussion about the imaginary situation where a player decides to leave because our "style of football" is not worthy of him. Smh...
  20. Our fans chanting "Chelsea" to the Liquidator on a loop? Just to keep you in the mood
  21. Can we forget about the nonsense analysis of 'buying and selling' which obviously is not just Jose's call, and go back to the EPIC press conference? I mean:
  22. As per usual, Pat Nevin is the only pundit in the media defending us:
  23. Honestly, the 'stews' are just hospital food Advice: Try the labne and Batata Harra (just not together )
  24. The scout that recommended it needs firing. To be fair, he showed some glimpses last season (even if utterly inconsistent even inside the same match!), but it turned out that that was his peak! Back to his usual at best average self this season.
