Barnes was never going to get charged. The FA rules don't allow it (although the interpretations of these rules seem more and more subjective with each incident). The system is fundamentally flawed and that is not the fault of the FA alone but the clubs and referees as well.

The fee is normally low given that they agreed to a buy-back clause. Works for both teams. They get a real talent for a steal. For us, on the other hand, 4-5m extra are insignificant, but we do get to save a lot more if he manages to achieve his full potential and turn into a player than can be starter here.

No it goes to show very little because the sample size without him is almost negligible. And even if we had played 37 matches without Matic, those with and without stats are ALWAYS meaningless because there are literally countless factors at work. Football cannot be quantified like that.

The president was attempting to make something last minute, but if he really could do something he would have done so some time ago. They certainly look gone, but you never know, though.

They had a really incredible team between 98 and '00. Btw, this isn't official yet. There is still some slim hope, by my understanding. But their game today is postponed because they can't pay for stewards and security!
