Okay. Thought you were one of those blindly showing him reverence after these results. Agree he's doing a good job with player motivation but most of this "good form" is not because of him. He's doing all he can atm with this group of players so I'm pleased but for me this season has still been fucking awful.

He's been playing shit for months now, clearly letting the team down (and costing us 3 points at City). Even if he feels like smiling, he should fucking pretend to be upset over it. He's a player who represents this club, not a fan sitting at home. It sends the wrong image, especially when he's being paid millions and millions of pounds (through 3 fucking seasons of sitting on his bloody arse too) And I thought Torres got a lot of stick after that Liverpool game for doing that? His confidence is still extremely low. The slips, the few times when he ran into defenders and lost the ball..... Can't deny that he was lively, but he still can't reach the final stage of his recovery into the player he was at Liverpool. He only seems to be able to overcome this problem when he's pissed off and chasing a goal after a drought or when he's really motivated (like the first game of the season at stoke)

Quite disappointed that villa didn't manage to hang on at anfield. Would have been HILARIOUS if the bindippers had lost that. It would have been 8 losses in 9, right? Sigh.

Also, Meireles made some mistakes today but lets not forget that Essien was so utterly hopeless that as someone's said a few pages back, Raul was doing the job for two people. English players are simply not as good as their European counterparts. We shouldn't buy them just because they are English. Look at Liverpool.

It's over-the-top, yes, but it's not scapegoating. It's just a recognition of what a horrible footballer he is and I don't think that's unfair. He has no footballing brain and he screws a lot of moves up due to his lack of ability or common sense. Most people recognize that he works hard for the team and I think most people, like me, would rather see him playing than Malouda. But it's not a Malouda v Kalou debate, because both are utter shit right now. And to be fair to Malouda - for two seasons he was one of the best wingers in the world. Kalou has always been Kalou. Usually after games I go a little crazy and say things I don't mean but I still stand by what I said re: Kalou. I like him as a person and he has scored a lot of important goals for this club, but it's truly unbelievable that he's still here at the club. Can you imagine us giving Sinclair, Tore or some other youngster these chances? Or buying some young, talented and hungry player to take his place.... He's just an awful footballer who has compensated for his lack of actual football talent (ability to make passes, etc) by developing the skills that he does have which is instinct on where to run, pace, and... thats about it lol.

What?! And his passing isn't as good because he actually attempts difficult passes which don't come off because of other players not making the proper runs. The passing stat can be very misleading. Our midfielders may have a higher passing percentage but they could be (and most of the time are) sideways or backwards passes which are ultimately useless. Not saying that Juan was "amazing" or anything yesterday. He was good. He tried to get involved but some things didn't work out because Kalou and Torres weren't on the same wavelength that he was on.

Don't think anyone said that for the Napoli game.. We were deserved winners in the end. Nobody can argue with a 4-1 win But for the benfica games..... We did get some luck. JT's handball should have been a penalty. But benfica were crap in both legs in terms of creating actual clear cut chances. They were dominant for about 15 minutes at the start of the 2nd half in the 1st leg and made Cech produce 4 or 5 great saves, but other than that they were simply average. Yesterday it was a bad performance by us considering it was 11 v 10 and benfica were running rings around us at times and had us on the back foot but they were average. It's just that we were horrible. At the end of the day, benfica have nobody but themselves to blame. Maxi shouldn't have opened his big fat mouth to complain to the ref, and the challenge on mikel definitely deserved a yellow. The penalty was obvious as well. After the game i felt a little... Meh because they were clearly better than us yesterday. But now.. Don't feel sorry for them at all, they were diving all over the place - in both legs. Pathetic.

I can't remember them all, have to see it again but off the top of my head... 1) the pathetic header which he should either have not gone for at all, or done something else with it rather than head it 200 yards away from the goal and 2) the one where he took the ball off Mata's feet and shot wide (Juan should have slapped him for doing that) there were a couple more too

I think the entire team is to blame for that goal. They were so complacent! Nobody was marking the Benfica players at all. Shameful, shameful defending. They should be fined for that. Regarding Cech... other teams are clearly noticing that he comes too far out sometimes. They tried to chip him two or three times yesterday. The first one (by Cardozo I think) was really well hit and on another day it would have gone in.

Yes Mata lost the ball but there were 4 or 5 times when he passed and Torres or Kalou had made totally useless runs or not made any runs at all. Mata is always trying to make the difficult pass, through defenders etc where for the pass to be successful, the receiver has to be on the same wavelength and use his fucking brain to know what Mata is trying to do. Oh, one of the players we're talking about here is Kalou! And Torres was hopeless today too. Kalou makes simple passes and fucks it up. He tries stepovers which make me laugh, ends up giving the ball away most of the time. He just has no footballing brain and doesn't know wtf to do. For example, the cross from Mata (I believe) where even though it wasn't meant for him, he jumped anyway and headed it like 200000 yards away from the goal. 1) he didn't know that he should have left it due to this position (!!!!!!!!!) 2) he didn't realize that DUE TO HIS POSITION, there was no fucking way he could score with that kind of header and hence should have tried something else like a flick or try to bring it down (can't remember if this would have been possible) :lol: Love the random "BYE BYE BENFICA" in English at the end there

He also fucks up 4 out of every 5 passes. Most of them simple passes to mata/torres due to his lack of ability. At least with the other players even if theyre not performing well at the time, you've seen some type of above average quality in their play.
