  1. Really, really stupid by Bran. If the FA act fast, he could miss the FA Semi, couldn't he?!
  2. Hope barca win the title. Jose will be so pissed off that he will stay at Real even longer. He cannot possibly leave Real to join City until he's won the title there.
  3. yeah... but that's not saying much considering how rubbish Essien was haha I agree though he's been very good since returning from injury, fair play to him! No way is he a 'top class' player though or ever going to become one, and I can see where the OP is coming from. He is the defensive-midfielder after all. I have had the same problem with him. This is a post I made after the Spurs away game in one of CarefreeChronicles' threads His positioning sense can be awful at times. And I agree with that Wigan situation that the OP illustrated. He is the DM therefore it is job to cover the midfielders. The defenders have to worry about the other players who are near or in the box. In an ideal world we would have a better DM and he would be a squad player but for now I guess he will do.
  4. Yeah we've gotta agree to disagree on that! but I definitely agree he's looking very lively recently and doing well whether played up top on his own or on the wing but I just don't know if it is worth keeping him at this club if he isn't going to become that goalscorer that he was at Liverpool. How do we know he isn't going to go on one of those dreadful runs like last season where he couldn't be bothered at all?! It's a big risk imo. The club should be trying to sign a quality striker so that if 6 months into next season it still isn't working out for Torres as a regular scorer, either he can leave or he can permanently move to the right wing
  5. whoa that's an awesome site. Cheers for that!
  6. Personally I disagree with this. A lot of his 'team play' stems from the fact that he was so afraid of taking shots, running at defenders. He's better now, these last few games in terms of confidence but the Torres at Liverpool was a sublime, stunning player. The way he would run and defenders would not know how to control him. He would take one shot and because of the confidence he had, he would score. No thinking twice, etc. He is nowhere near that standard. He has compensated this by improving his all round game, and also because he receives very little support from the midfielders here. It's mainly mata who tries to find him. Our midfielders are abysmal and not a single one of them has the quality to pick out a pass. And it is not true at all that he just scored the goals at Liverpool. He was VERY MUCH involved in their team game too. They just relied on him too much because of that idiot Benitez but he was no way just a goal scorer there. That's a serious serious misconception. He worked hard too, tracked back etc. it's not as if he suddenly developed these 'skills'. So let's not credit him for that because he's always done that. I'm glad he's gaining confidence and as long as he works hard and TRIES, I will support him. For now I'm still very much in doubt over whether he will be good enough to be a striker here.
  7. Don't really think Kalou has been working with them... he's been doing work for the team but hardly think he links up well with anyone lol
  8. Agree. Maybe Bosingwa/Ferriera instead of Ivanovic though if he's feeling jaded.
  9. Said it in the "New Chelsea Manager?" thread but we need a strong personality to come in and stabilize things for a while and sort the egos out. As I believe you yourself have said (please correct me if I'm wrong), RDM only has to think about the present right now, whie AVB was thinking about the future. Yeah he got plenty of things wrong but you cannot possibly compare their situations.
  10. Over Kalou, Sturridge (as a winger) and Malouda? Heck yes.
  11. Biggest mistake we made (if you believe the stories) was backing JT over Jose. That moment (again, obviously choosing to believe the stories just to guess at what happened) showed the players what they could be capable of
  12. Of course I didn't mean that. but the point is true eh? He's a representation of the club, very different from a normal fan and it's annoying to see him doing that. And I'm not just picking on him, if it was Torres or Ivanovic or JT I would have reacted the same way. (not the "get the fuck out of my club" comment, that was a slight over-reaction but his performances have been dreadful and he offers absolutely nothing to this team anymore)
  13. Okay. Thought you were one of those blindly showing him reverence after these results. Agree he's doing a good job with player motivation but most of this "good form" is not because of him. He's doing all he can atm with this group of players so I'm pleased but for me this season has still been fucking awful.
  14. He's been playing shit for months now, clearly letting the team down (and costing us 3 points at City). Even if he feels like smiling, he should fucking pretend to be upset over it. He's a player who represents this club, not a fan sitting at home. It sends the wrong image, especially when he's being paid millions and millions of pounds (through 3 fucking seasons of sitting on his bloody arse too) And I thought Torres got a lot of stick after that Liverpool game for doing that? If he didn't then he should have.
  15. haha. So you think things are 'perfect'? okay.... Performances still god awful. More effort but that's nothing to be happy about. They should be showing 100% effort all the time, not only when they feel like it. Unbelievable.
  16. His confidence is still extremely low. The slips, the few times when he ran into defenders and lost the ball..... Can't deny that he was lively, but he still can't reach the final stage of his recovery into the player he was at Liverpool. He only seems to be able to overcome this problem when he's pissed off and chasing a goal after a drought or when he's really motivated (like the first game of the season at stoke)
  17. Quite disappointed that villa didn't manage to hang on at anfield. Would have been HILARIOUS if the bindippers had lost that. It would have been 8 losses in 9, right? Sigh.
  18. Also, Meireles made some mistakes today but lets not forget that Essien was so utterly hopeless that as someone's said a few pages back, Raul was doing the job for two people. Jesus how bad was that Essien performance???? Every tackle he made was mistimed, most of the passes were poor. Just utter shit.
  19. And hugging and smiling nasri (?) at the end of the match. Wanker. Get the fuck out of my club
  20. Essien was a fucking disgrace. After wigan scored they showed our bench to see what rdm's reaction was and this twat was smiling away in the background. FUCK OFF
  21. English players are simply not as good as their European counterparts. We shouldn't buy them just because they are English. Look at Liverpool.
  22. It's over-the-top, yes, but it's not scapegoating. It's just a recognition of what a horrible footballer he is and I don't think that's unfair. He has no footballing brain and he screws a lot of moves up due to his lack of ability or common sense. Most people recognize that he works hard for the team and I think most people, like me, would rather see him playing than Malouda. But it's not a Malouda v Kalou debate, because both are utter shit right now. And to be fair to Malouda - for two seasons he was one of the best wingers in the world. Kalou has always been Kalou. Usually after games I go a little crazy and say things I don't mean but I still stand by what I said re: Kalou. I like him as a person and he has scored a lot of important goals for this club, but it's truly unbelievable that he's still here at the club. Can you imagine us giving Sinclair, Tore or some other youngster these chances? Or buying some young, talented and hungry player to take his place.... He's just an awful footballer who has compensated for his lack of actual football talent (ability to make passes, etc) by developing the skills that he does have which is instinct on where to run, pace, and... thats about it lol.
  23. What?! And his passing isn't as good because he actually attempts difficult passes which don't come off because of other players not making the proper runs. The passing stat can be very misleading. Our midfielders may have a higher passing percentage but they could be (and most of the time are) sideways or backwards passes which are ultimately useless. Not saying that Juan was "amazing" or anything yesterday. He was good. He tried to get involved but some things didn't work out because Kalou and Torres weren't on the same wavelength that he was on.
