THREE MORE FROM TORRES!
-
Wastefull wastefull passing they get the ball and don't know what to do with and we've got ball constantly going to the opposition. Plenty of chances but no one can put them away.
-
Happy!
-
That crazy haired man can KICK A FUCKING FOOTBALL what a goal from a center back!!
-
Alot of our attacking movments are coming down the left I've noticed alot of overlapping with Malouda, Mata and Cole alot of crossing coming in not a whole lot of connections thing Sturidge has defiantly laid claim to a first team spot attacking wise he's looked the most dangerous with Mata and Merieles both getting the ball into good positions. Also, I know alot of people say Torres if mis-firing but to me he just seems to be unbelievably unlucky which really isn't helping him get back on form, lets hope the old proverbs true "Form is temporary but Class is permanent"
-
In fairness he is another box to box midfielder of which we have a few but hes got pace strength a FIERCE shot from distance hes creative as he is hardworking hes more a jack of all trades with a great engine and if he can continue his form from the end of last season (being voted Liverpools player of the season not forgetting) then I welcome him completly. Not to mention that awesome tattoo and mohawk, maybe he'll add a little more personality to the squad eh.
-
I think theres a real possibility of us grabbing him in the 11th hour think about it, hes obviously willing to move to the EPL (regardless of what god says) Man united are playing it far too cool so lets dive in and take him, hes in the same mould as lampard, goals from midfield, deadly freekicks, good link up play and a proven playmaker and if we can get him for £27m+Malouda.. DO IT YOU BITCH DO IT!
-
Cant see It doing any damage bringing him In, I mean he can't be that expensive as It stands on top of which he'd help Romelu settle In and from the little I have seen of him he does look like a more "Athletic" version of his older brother we really do need to start churning out some top quality players from the academy though.
-
All around great play and defiantly going to have taken Maloudas starting spot by the the end of the season scored one and came damn close to an assist (If Branna had hit his free header on target) Lets just hope he can link up with and get the best out of Torres!
-
That says to me that Mata NEEDS to be our first choice 100% I think given him and Torres a little more time to together could have produced a bit of magic happy to see Lukaku making all the right moves and fingers crossed on Drogba, although if he is out for a while it'll make the whole striker situation ALOT easier to handle.
-
You know I've always liked Kalou I've always considered him as the closest thing we've got to a tricky winger on top of which he seems to be kind of the class clown in the changing rooms and he seems like a genuinely nice bloke and he scores some vital goals look at the Tottenham game last season, but he just doesn't have the kind of return you'd expect from a winger playing for a world class team, sometimes he seems a bit lost up the pitch If he tried to get past the fullbacks a little more often then I'd be happier. But as long as he's willing to play a bit part role as a kind of super sub i suppose, then I welcome him to stay but starting him in the front 3 is noooooot the best Idea hes just not a natural finisher he chips in with assists but hes no playmaker hes kind of a jack of all trades but I wouldn't give him starting berth personally.
-
I'm pretty sure you could call Lampard Terry and the Drog as "Untouchable" no managers going to come in and take them out of the team because of their age as their Chelsea Icons but Benayoun being a bit part player I can't see the need to keep him being quite as strong
-
Mata was always going to get the number 10 this we know, I don't think Benayoun is going to leave but I have to agree with a comment up there somewhere ^ about him not slotting into our 4-3-3 he can play on the wing as a number of attacking midfielders can but I can't see him being deployed up there with all the competition I can't see Lampard dropping to the bench to accommodate him he could play as the more advanced of the three in the middle of the park but again there's plenty of competition for those spots and with AVB stressing the need for a new midfielder he looks to be falling down the pecking order even further. Hes a good player don't get me wrong, but I believe he was only bought as a bargaining chip to get Torres onside so hes kind of outlived his usefulness, on top of which I get the sense AVB is trying to lower the squads age a bit and with Yossi out there at 31I can't really see him being used much if at all if he goes the other way in this bloody tiresome Modric saga I think persoanlly it'd be the best thing for him.
-
Pretty sure he ment on the left or right, although he can play behind the strikers yup
-
Yeah exactly with Crouch infront of him playing the target man role usually, Drogba could fill that gap but I can't see him playing a whole lot this season so with Torres up front it looks to be a single striker formation with an inverted winger, so he'll be on the wing all season long in our trusty old 4-3-3 me thinks.
-
Well techincally hes an Attacking Midfielder more so than a winger but he plays up the left and right and can be played in the center of a 4-2-3-1 Midfield but he can't play from a deeper position like our 4-3-3 so he's best utilized on the wing... yeah
-
Yup I'd expect to see him taking Malouda's spot on the left the majority of the time. But AVB likes his Inverted wingers so playing him on the right and having him cut in on his left foot is a strong possibility, we won't be seeing him in midfield though.
-
I'd say we've got every chance to getting our man In this situation, Arsenal are just shite and won't stump up the £30m Valencia want for him after they missed his Buy Out Clause, we've got the financial muscle in this situation ontop of which he said he didn't want to move to Tottenham because he wants to play CL football and challenge for trophies and I'd say you can't get much more challenging than Chelsea, ontop of which I think Torres playing upfront with a fellow Spaniard out of the wing would be a big help. Hes a natural left footer but he can play on the right side of the trident cutting in on his left so so hes got versatility too and at 22 hes going places as sad as it is to say Spain are the dominant force in world football at the moment and for good reason talents like Mata need to be snapped up quickly and hopefully it'll happen!
-
hes really not going to get alot of first team playing time but i think it'll be a good chance for him to spend his first season developing under Drogba's wing anyways
-
I found my matches :pwned:
-
I think its far from impossible to see Johnson playing In the Chelsea blue (not that horrible baby blue ) this season, or possibly next, he'd gel into the team fantastically, hes scored 3-4 goals in pre season including one against Inter earlier but you can be certain hes still going to be used as an impact sub If anything which he can't be happy with. If I remember correctly he actually lost his spot in our last international, probably due to a lack of game time so he can't be satisfied with that. Guys you seem to forget sure Man City are rich but we've got our own billionaire and as you can tell with Torres if he wants a player he damn well gets them and If he gives AVB his full financial backing I'm certain we'll rip it up this season. On that not Ron Gourlay said earlier that other than Courtious and Romeu there isnt going to be much if any more transfer activity which is worrying because after last seasons injuries and the slump its obvious we need a few more squad players
-
We do need a new midfielder I agree but I don't acquiring one of those is going to be the sum of our transfer window activity I'm pretty certain our lack of a reliable RB is pretty common knowledge, for two seasons running really, so Its a hole that need plugging we missed out last season and the kind of Right back AVB would have good defensive and attacking capabilities
-
I know we have to solve the RW problem before we can focus a RB because we need to know what we've got upfront to determine what we need at the back, but again, I don't see alot of movement on this either, everyone's focused on who's coming into midfield
