  1. THIS i like! Edit: Hes got black arms yo, its that Kalou?!
  2. Much appreciated! This could go on for quite a while so lets say he can do either, which is true! But if he was to come to Stamford bridge where would he play? In our 4-3-3 we have two established wingers their pretty much the only constant feature of the team this season so far, Matas been pulling the strings and orchestrating the play and Dannys been banging in the goals and practically leading the line by himself so, again, where would he fit in?
  3. Still going to have to disagree, I'm sure you've got your reasons for thinking so, but I've also got mine so I can't really see the point in debating it, you can scour the internet if you like but I'm fairly certain you'll come across him being listed as both or either. Just because he plays on the wing doesn't make him a winger, same as Mata.
  4. Am I the only person thats a bit worried about what kind of commitment hes going to have playing for the club? Especially if he doesn't get his £100,000 a week wages (which he seriously doesn't deserve) this is being dragged out alot longer than expected, i thought a day or two into Jan we'd have him kitted up and on the pitch since we need cover in that area pretty desperately. That goes to show me the Chelsea board must be making alot of effort to sign him and hes trying to drip us dry for every penny he can, which as a football (they all seem) entitled to do, because they know they can, but do we want a man whos more interested in the money than playing in the champions league and joining a club of our stature? I was well on for this deal at first as he'd be a great long term replacement for JT, but this money grabbing attitude has made me think twice personally.
  5. Yeah i'll second that actually, Sturridge has looked good cutting inside and darting around and Ramires goal against city last season shows hes got some samba skills!
  6. I know alot of people will probably say Mata, yeah he's quite mercurial and he can slip past a defender but hes not really a DRIBBLER, at least I wouldn't say so, also Torres pointless stepovers don't count! Any thoughts? I think its an area we could improve in, its become a pretty vital part of the game now, not to mention this "sexy football" Roman wants us playing its a pretty key element.
  7. Which I don't think would be a bad idea at all, but through his time at Porto AVB played with a wide and high 4-3-3, We've played with a 4-3-3 since Mourhinio and even today are still using the same principals he set out (apart from the defensive ones leading to a lack of clean sheets) so I can't see us going to a 4-2-3-1 at least not halfway through the season and end up with disjointed performances.
  8. Read above ^ Hazard can play on the wing, but is not a natural winger, just google "Eden Hazard Position" and you'll see and by putting him on the other wing (if its the right your referring to) then your suggesting taking Sturridge off?
  9. One last time .... Eden Hazard (born 7 January 1991) is a Belgian international footballer who currently plays for French club Lille in Ligue 1 and the Belgium national team. He primarily plays as an attacking midfielder and a winger. Same as Juan Mata, hes an attacking midfielder who plays as a winger, simples.
  10. Hes a player in the same mold as Mata, he can play on either wing (as you pointed out) or In a CAM role but hes not an orthodox winger hes more of a playmaker and most of those are from through balls and flicks not the standard wingers cross, so again, I think hes at his most effective playing in between the lines. I still don't understand where your getting this CAM position from, the only people that we have playing that high up the pitch at the wingers and the center forward, Lamps is the closest thing we have to a CAM and hes playing as a central midfielder bursting up from deep, not sitting high up and orchestrating.
  11. Nope, I apologize Its force of habit to hit that big ol' B
  12. I'm 90% certain Hazard's prefered position is a CAM but since Lille play a 4-3-3 hes playing out on the wing, similar to Mata, so the same as Mata he's given freedom to roam inside and hes at his most effective on the inside pulling the strings, and playing in a 4-3-3 we don't have a CAM position we could have a more advanced CM playing between the lines but that effectively leaves us with two deep midfielders making the formation a 4-2-3-1, so again, I can't really see where he'd slot in.
  13. I'm all for this one but where would he play? In our 4-3-3 the closest thing we've got to his favored attacking midfielder position is the wingers and I think we've got pretty solid first XI wingers in Mata and Danny, I'm not saying he couldn't drop to central midfield but I'm not sure that he'd be as effective. I can't see him opting to go to Real Madrid, he wouldn't have many chances to push for a first XI spot with Ozil and Kaka playing in the same position and the two wide roles occupied by Ronaldo and Di Maria, I really hope for his careers sake he doesn't go to Serie A so I think the Premier League interests are probably going to be the most appealing to him so I'd say that gives us a bloody good chance in the running for his signature.
  14. I've watched Serie A matches and i can't name a team thats not completly defensive and far playing at far too slow of a tempo (Napoli being the exception and a bloody good team) , if you want to talk about an unbalanced league look at La Liga, that's where you get your 6-1 thrashings, my point is that Serie A is (with all due respect) boring to watch in my opinion.
  15. Yeah I slipped up on that one, but none the less we want players for the future and to help challenge for the title in FUTURE seasons, not a bandage to help up stay in the top four, if we can't achieve that with the squad we got then somethings got to give
  16. Personally I think it is, more coverage, more competition, more world class and world renowned players, more support, faster, more physical, more attacking (Italians got the whole defensive stereotype for a reason, look at Mancini's first season with Man City) but again that's just personal perspective but I'm fairly sure its a commonly held belief, but again, just saying bro!
  17. A player who can't get into the first team of a Juventus side that finished 7th last season? I don't think I'd want to bring him into a title chasing squad in a MUCH stronger league.
  18. First off! Hulks a compete prat agreeing to an £83m (?) buyout clause because as RZA said, two of last seasons top men have just left and Porto is looking more and more desperate. I like Hulk, hes got strength speed, trickery, clinical finishing, DEADLY shot from range and a powerful free kick. But we've got Sturridge on the right and people saying he can play on the left, yes he can, but that almost completly nullifies the threat of him cutting onto his left and unleashing those shots, same as if we played Danny on the left hes an inside striker who needs to cut in onto his stronger foot to be effective. I'd go so far as to say AVB has done the same think we Sturridge as he did with Hulk, classic striker pushed out wide left to cut in and cause havok, its worked wonders for Hulk and you only need to look at Dannys goals this season to see its working magnificently for him too. So what it comes down too is we have an excellent home grown, young talent whos broken into the team still has bags of potential and is practically leading the line on one hand. And a £80m (close enough) buy for a player in a similar mould who both do the same job playing as inside forwards, play in the same position. My advice? Stick with Danny.
  19. I'd love to see Cavani leading the Chelsea line, hes got aerial strength, clinical finishing, hes strong and quick, reminds me of the Drog in his prime. It'd be a bit of a worry that hes used to playing at a pretty high tempo, since Napoli tend to play on the counter attack and our tempo lately has been really slow with alot of sideways and back passes combining him with a playmaker (Like Hamsik) would be bloody effective. To the people saying we can't have him, I think come the summer AVB and Roman are going to make one last big push in the transfer market bring in some young top name, world class players before FFT takes place and everyone's got their price so I can't see why this COULDNT happen.
  20. Anyone read that AVB's being very... how do I put this, distant? from the players. Completely unlike Jose who was an unbelivably good man manager and had the whole team playing as one, obviously some of the old guard ie. JT, Lamps and the Drog are not taking too kindly to this and there's been a fair bit of concern on their part. Fair play to AVB for coming into the team and having the backbone to put Lampard on the bench, who, while hes still a quality player is really getting on in his years so shouldn't realistically expect to be playing every game. You don't hear complaints from Mata, Meireles, Ramires no unrest there, they've come into the side and have taken to his regime and have performed well (Christ only knows which side Torres is on) so I think we're going to see a gradual squad overhaul, which in all fairness is exactly what was needed, but I'd like Lamps to play a Scoles/Giggs type role with us. My question is, do you think the way AVB is managing the squad is going to work? In the long term, its extremely patchy at the moment but I think personally if we stick with our man give him a few seasons to put his mark on the club and we'll get to reap the rewards! :cfc:
