Probably the main reason to give him a chance, if any. At least one summer transfer window. Even if someone said that the signs were there with Arteta, I won't forget the turgid football they used to serve for weeks on end during his first two years. On the other hand, this season has gone to shit. Unless the world cup provides a weird reset (probably with the number of players we have coming back)., it's going to be a downward spiral he won't be able to control.

would be a dumb reason, if true. Especially after how he played in the last game

I don't care about our form. I don't even care how we play. We absolutely must shithouse a win here, even if it means playing big Sam football, and parking 11 players in front of the goal., to hit them on a counter. After all the wins shitty Arsenal sides have stolen from better Chelsea teams in recent years, this is one occasion in which I absolutely want us to return the favor. For all their merits, they still have a weak belly. And if Man Utd was able to put 3 past them, we should still be able to put at least 1.

Raises questions as to how this could've been avoided. There must be some complete fuckwits at the club to allow these level of hamstring injuries to occur on a regular basis.
-
Our only WC attacker since Drogba. Ever since their departures we haven't challenged for the league
-
The clubs physios must be downright awful.
-
And it's almost always hamstring. We're having 3-4 hamstring injuries every year. Ridiculous management of the players.
-
When did we turn into Arsenal? They used to have this on a regular basis in the Wenger years.

I am not going to say 'I told you so' here. Before the Sterling transfer, I had expressed my doubts about this move and whether he was a player that could lift the team like Hazard or just someone who make the most of a good support system. However his start to the season was really encouraging and he showed why he could bring an x factor to the team., so it's odd to see it trail off this way (although it happened to other attackers like Morata and Lukaku to be fair). And this has coincided with Tuchels departure, a change in system and playing position. That's why I don't want to make the first statement. It's sad that at the start we had Sterling in form and Mount off form, and now the opposite is true, with James out for weeks.

It would have been better for Spurs to be in the Europa league. More fixtures, and Thursday nights. Don't see how this is better for us when we're in the same exact competition Also agree - it's annoying how they keep sneaking in at the last minute despite being woeful.
-
Which is exactly why I was surprised at some of the reactions on here to Tuchel, and now Potter.

Absolute mindfuck considering how the tables were turned the opposite way this time last year. We were on top and they were in the mud. Fuck the UK government that basically shot us at point blank to kill our prospects this season.
-
I missed this game entirely (for some reason thought that the match started 2 hours later than it did), but in hindsight, I'm glad that I did. I don't even want to look at the highlights. But looking at the starting lineup can I say that we shot ourselves in the foot by going crazy with the fullbacks? Entrusting both Pulisic and Sterling with defensive duties at the same time is bonkers, especially with no solid DMF. If anyone could give a short summary, would really appreciate it. Cheers!

Nay, this is the guy I was referring to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roko_Šimić

Simic. What a thug. Seemed determined to take Thiago Silva out. Especially with that stupid Harry Kane like move when he tried to back into Silva who was rising to head the ball. The cunt went onto foul him afterwards.
-
I guess my point is that a side doesn't play the way they did against us,and then go on to lose badly playing the same way
-
I did say that Spurs are the fraud side in the top 4 this year. Doubt this will be the last you'll see this kind of shitshow from them.
-
To be fair, Brentford were also poor today. Just another one of those sides that raise their game when we play them, doing team huddles before the match begins and do their damndest to not lose. Just like Leeds earlier this season.

Cucurella at LCB experiment has to stop. Better off playing Koulibaly there. Cucurellas sole purpose is to deputize for Chillwell to keep him fresh
-
On a side note, did you guys sense the hatred from the ex-Madrid boys of Casemiro and Varane? Varane punched the flag on his way out (although to be fair, he was wrongly booed off for an unfortunate injury) Casemerio got into a tussle with Mount and was acting like he was possessed by a demon after scoring the equalizer. Felt like slapping his face through the TV when that happened, lol.

A win should secure qualification with first place, right? Milan will not be able to pull ahead then based on the head to head record.
-
Maybe agree to disagree, but I don't see how his approach was ultra negative. Not when we match them on the pitch in term of energy and aggression. To me, ultra negative is what Conte did with us playing against City in the Etihad in his last season, doing nothing but ball watching. Potter has been making adjustments in the game right from the first half with Kovacic. If that isn't the sign of a proactive manager then I don't know what is. Like @ZAPHOD2319 mentioned, one of the subs even had an impact. I'm not sure what more he could have done with personnel we have available., without throwing the match away. Our back 4 needs protection, and if he had gone for a more gung-ho approach, I am sure we would have punished by United.
-
What were you expecting to be different? Just genuinely curious about what upset you in this game.
-
Nobody expected United to pull Arsenals pants down either, lol. But it happened. I wouldn't be surprised. For once Arsenal won't have the underdog card, and our players won't take the game too lightly.
