What is there's an even bigger twist and we call back Mourinho 3.0
-
I just hope Spurs don't go after Tuchel next.
-
The fact that we got Aubameyang as top striker, a player much derided by his former team and manager, only to have him lose his first match against them, and then go on to see them leading the table by 7 points, with Aubemayang relegated to the bench - just shows the state we are in.
-
He might still join - but I'm worried that he'll also just end up playing mediocre football.
-
Back when we signed him in the summer, I saw this article from the mail comparing his stats against other CBs. How does Koulibaly compare to Chelsea stars and Big Six stalwarts? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11010037/How-does-Kalidou-Koulibaly-compare-Chelsea-stars-Big-Six-stalwarts.html At the time, I was a bit shocked because he was objectively worse in nearly every department. (Especially the number of times he has been dribbled past by) I mean, a defender who has been praised to the moon by his former managers. And now, reality hits. Terrible at tracking back, unimaginative in attack. The only thing he does is press upwards to defend, and almost gives up a foul in the process. And he is just gassed every game. Silva is nearly 6 years older than him and plays with great tempo.

Yeah, I doubt they will replace Potter without giving him at least one transfer window. Not unless he gets into loggerheads with them like Tuchel did, and Potter is not the person to do that.
-
Even if Tuchel went off the boil.., at least he seemed to do something on the touchline. Giving out instructions, changing shape, etc.
-
I think the way it happened just makes it worse. A war we had nothing to do with and a vindictive government combined forces to strip the club of everything.
-
Forest 12 shots 5 on target Chelsea 7 shots 2 on target.
-
The second half performance had shades of that horrible match we played against City in Contes second season. Insipid in attack and defense. You could see players like Pulisic desperately trying to invent something, but no one was in the right place to even retain possession. Barely any touches in the opposition 3rd for the majority of the 2nd half.
-
It will be a shame to get stockpile talent like Enzo and other youth prospects only to have them play crap football like this.
-
You don't have to be biased for or against Potter to see that this was an absolute shiteshow. Nothing to break up play, nothing to create in attack. Just nothing. Players just couldn't do anything to work around the Nottingham forest press in the 2nd half team. All this against a bottom half team.
-
Miserable fuckers, if true. Probably also to do with how Argentine transfers work out well due to their current economic condition, like someone said. But I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case
-
Or Ziyech at RW, which is his best position. Maybe give Sterling or Pulisic a breather, especially with a game in midweek.
-
@Tomo's point about Haaland not making City a better team is becoming more evident. the guy is an absolute goal machine, yet City find themselves 7 points behind Artetas Arsenal who have Nkitiah playing up top.
-
Yeah the fallout is going to be terrible. For us. Not them.
-
Ugh...this season is going to be embarrassing, especially if we end up outside top 4. Them winning the league is bad enough. IMO, Arsenal fans become more insufferable compared to Pool and United fans after they become a winning team again.
-
Without taking a hit on Potter, you have to ask whether we should've done the same with Tuchel (even if his dismissal had nothing to dow with performances., and just general disagreement with the owners)
-
Will be interesting to see how they fare today though. Two in-form teams with Brighton & Arsenal
-
Sigh. Really hoping this time we actually get what the press claim we're in for. Too many times this year, we've been strongly linked with superstars, only for things to end up taking a complete U-turn. If this keeps happening, it will feel like the club is only instigating these rumors just to keep the fan base appeased, and not actually accomplishing anything.
-
Just like Bournemouth, I'd still fancy our chances because it's a bottom ten team again, even with James out. The games after this one could be a bit painful., unless we step up big time.
-
Well, there were times when Ronaldo and Messi outscored better Chelsea teams. Not really an interesting stat. And don't need to show that we need to improve our miserable attacking stats.
-
It's official now
-
Just hope the 3-4 weeks is also not a another case of rushing him back. In any case, even if he does come back., he needs to be eased back in. 20 mins per game or something similar. Obviously there's nothing like a fully competitive fixture, but the fact that it took just 50 mins of real game time, as opposed to weeks of training and friendly fixtures to find out his knee wasn't ready, raises questions.

Forget new year resolutions, all you Chels fans out there should make a new year wish for an injury free Chelsea team and a speedy recovery for our already injured players.
