Even if Chelsea are in a period of 'transition' the older players have/can still play a part. Only recently, Lampard for example scored a superb headed winner against Blackburn & has been a solid performer. Yes,their best days are behind them but maybe the crux of the reason behind recent displays is AVB's man management skills?. Maybe he struggles to bond with the current players,to comunicate without patronising,to show senior players of the same age that he knows what he's doing? to adapt to his ideas. Even in the world of sport, personality clashes can be a big factor in team success,(or lack of it).

Sack Boas?,no not yet. However,Chelsea F.C. is at a certain level in world club football,it took years of graft & millions of pounds to get there and expectations are now, understandbly high. It's simply not exceptable for a club who 2 seasons ago won a double to be content with the Europa League, that's just the way it is. I've wondered how well his Europa League winning Porto side would do in the Premier league?,how would the players adapt?,more importantly, how would AVB use them?. My point is,if he's stuggling to impose his beliefs on the squad he's inherited at Chelsea, then doesn't he then have to adapt his beliefs to something that works even if it's for the short term?,isn't that what management is about?. I want him to have the chance to learn how to be a great manager in the harsh world of the Premier League,he could be brillant for CFC,but he needs to be a bit more 'savy' with his squad IMO.........its evolution not revolution thats needed.

I think Berlusconi has enough grief on his plate as it is,if Pato was allowed to leave there'd be riots in Milan.

Last season showed how much we missed a player like Ballack & how far Mickel still has to go.But being caught out for players to choose from last year because we had let them leave isn't a management high point for the board at CFC. Biggest disapointment for me was Joe Cole,if Ballack tried so hard to stay with his offer of a pay cut, why didn't Joe make a similar effort about his demands?.I'm not going to slag off a player who at times was an utter joy to watch,(remeber his goal at Old Trafford ,2009-10 season),but the move to the dippers proved that the grass isn't always greener elseware.

If Sanchez want's to play for Barca but they are to skint to buy him, then that's to bad.Playing for Chelsea should not be a 'second choice' for any player, so join us if he really wants to,or stay away mate.
-
If Boas is to survive at Chelsea he has to win & win quickly. Its been said that he should get time to build a dynasty at Chels but he'll only get that time if he wins trophies, its that simple really. Success = stay. Failure = sack. That's just the way it is now at our club,(not that I think It's right),it's just how modern top flight football clubs are nowdays.

Villas -Boas takes to long to print on a replica shirt,he has to go.

Luiz to Barcelona?,yeah and I've got a 10" c**k (actually 9 1/2"),where the fu*k do these stories come from?.

You may not find any polar bears on Copacabana Beach but you should see lots of beavers :eyebrows:

Yeah I heard that to Randall, the bloke said he has 2 agents to deal with, feck me!, talk about complicated.Shame really because everytime I've seen him play,he looks a good fit for CFC.

As i've only been a member of this site for five minutes, I feel it's not really appropriate to vote on this election. But in the true spirit of Westminster democracy,I'm fully open to any bribes, favours, cash for votes or any other gratuity that comes my way,

I'm not saying this Neymar transfer saga is dragging on a bit,but by the time he arrives,(if at all),he'll be the first player in Premier League history who's entitled to a testimonial before he's kicked a fecking ball!.

£30-40 mill for a young guy unproven in the Premier League!,feck me. Been told he is the'new Robinho',well I f*cking hope not if we are to buy him, that guy proved to be as flakey as an albino jogging in a desert.

Daniel Sturridge Next Season
skcollob replied to John Terry lovechild's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I wonder if there's a problem for Studge,(or the other strikers in the squad)its the power that Drogba holds at the club. We all know he's top draw, but even the best have off-days & if he is dropped to allow another player a chance in the side and that guy struggles, then his position as 'irreplacable' is strengthend. The team play to Didiers strengths, that may not suit the styles of the other players, and if that is the case then as we've seen with Nico, they are forced outside on the wings to get a game.Having to change your style & not playing to your strengths must make you look an average player instead of a good one, surely. -
Mind you,if appointing Scolari was my idea,I wouldn't want to own up to it either.
-
Just read in The News of the World,(well someone has to!),about Guus being Roman's chioce all along and that Grant,Scolari & Ancelotti were just 'stop gaps'. What a load of bollocks that paper writes, mind you, they also wrote,(not for the first time i've read this),that Carlo had lost the respect of the players due to it seams, the Ray Wilkins affair. Thing is didn't they do the same with Grant & Scolari?,and if Guus becomes the next guy in hot seat won't he go the same way?,what the feck is it with modern footballers and their do what we want attitude?. Sorry about that, felt like a rant was about to start!.

If Lamps, Essien & Torres can get anywhere near back to their best in the close season, I reckon it will be like having 3 new players just by itself.
-
Now Arnesen's left the club and picked up some of the kids for Hamburg,it will be interesting to see what the quality of future youth players will be,unless of course he gets that choice as well. At the very least,we'll have some idea of what sort of job he was doing at CFC.
-
Personally I find the idea of Ron Gourlay in charge scary,I wouldn't trust him to flush a kharzi without cocking it up,but Roman must have faith in him or why else would he be there?. I used to think the suits that run clubs such as ours were dedicated, skilled profesionals who knew what they were doing and acted in the clubs best intrests............what a plum!. Previous posts point to what looks like a 'scatter gun' approach to decession making with what appears to be a 'well I hope it works this time' attitude amongst the suits in charge instead of a long and carefull thought proccess behind the clubs plans & long term goals. One good point is Roman's love for Chelsea can't be doubted, just wish we could say the same about some of the 'advisers' around him.
-
I guess you could say that plan hit a dead end.

Different Perspective Towards Chelsea, Hamburg, and Arnesen

Second point about young players,if, say Arnesen spots a top young german kid and recomends him to us but not his current,(german employers)then quite rightly,he'd be up sheet creek. So etiher way it ends up costing Chelsea millions. -

One other point on the subject of young players,I doubt that any club, whatever the ties between them and Chelsea are, would let top talent leave on the cheap. In this modern age of the cash rich Champions League club, any quality young player would demand a top price, such is the nature of the game, irrespective of who's in charge. -

I guess the main problem with younger players is unless you're a 'once in a decade' talent like Messi,if your at a club like Chelsea, you are going to find it a hard task to break into the first team. Such is the pressure for results, not many managers would put their necks on the line with youth players,(unless they are the next Messi),so for most,it's a loan deal & once the player and his agent has had a taste of that, then going back to Chelsea's reserves must be a bit of a let down. I only hope,(and so far,the signs are good),that the chaps in charge of making those type of decisions about the young players, get more right than they get wrong. -

I can't imagine any top class german youngsters going anywhere else other than top german clubs, why would they want to?,(or be allowed to). It wouldn't suprise me if at some point in the future we find ourselves bidding big bucks to bring the latest 'star' player to the club only to realise that he was originally a product of our expensive youth academy in the first place. Hopefully,(but I'm beginng to doubt it),the board inserted some future 'buy back' clause when they agreed to let these as yet unproven young guys leave.
