I think he would have been fine if not for the injuries, maybe not a starter but good enough to be getting serious minutes in the less stressful games. He was indeed getting minutes right before that injury and I'd dare so the coaching at Chelsea would have been more beneficial than wherever he has been at loan. Another missed opportunity but it happens.

Everytime he has dived with the ball in the penalty box. I can't think of any exactly (I could be remembering wrong, from last season), but I'm sure that he has chances to at least get the ball on target but he has fucked up by taking a touch or diving. I disagree with that entirely. Diego Costa could easily have the same amount of goals as Mahrez or Igalho if his form were better. He has had the chances, he has screwed them up. Costa gets ample service for a player of his 'calibre'.

He got enough chances last year to score 20+ goals. So I imagine if he and the team ever get back on their feet he'll be scoring again.

There is nothing I hate more than seeing someone trying to justify a striker's bad form and performances on the rest of the team. Well, guess what? A bad striker affects the rest of the team just as much; it makes wingers look bad for instance, if their striker isn't finishing their crosses and passes. Diego Costa has been terrible and it is not because of the team, it is because he has been terrible. It doesn't help that the team is pretty bad too. He gets his chances and does nothing with them.

I watch WWE on the odd occasion because it is mindless trash and it is hilarious. They are in Colorado right now and a Mexican wrestler and an American manager have the gimmick of 'Meximerica'. They basically preach equality and love but the crowd seems confused as fuck. They are booing the cheating, dirty fighting bad guy but are also booing equality.

Wages must also be taken into account. Shame we don't know how much the club wasted on him on a weekly basis. Then there is agent fees, who knows how much the club lost on this fella.

It's a truly soccer/football inclusive phenomenon where the supporters will be enraged/angered/belligerent against the manager. From what I've witnessed in other sports people really don't care about the manager as much as a football fan does.

I'm not saying that isn't true but what clubs are interested? What clubs do need him? I don't think any do and that is why he won't be sold. If clubs were interested in him, they would bid regardless of transfer listing. As I said earlier, he doesn't' fulfill a need so no club wants him, regardless of transfer listing, most smart clubs don't buy players just because, maybe PSG. City, Real, Barca et al aren't going to buy him, they don't need him. He isn't going to be transfer-listed so that is a pointless hypothetical.

Exactly. Right now, he isn't worth it for any club. He doesn't improve them with his current form, hence the reason he won't be sold in January. Summer is a clean slate, clubs are more likely to make moves for players like Fabregas. He is a big commitment; a huge player to transfer in. He expects huge wages, CL qualification and the whole 9 yards but his current form just isn't justifying of that. He might go in Summer but not January. If he does go in January I'll be very surprised and put my hands up that I was wrong. I'm big enough to admit when I am wrong Mata was sold when he was playing terribly (much like Fabregas is now), but the difference is that he fulfilled a need for Manchester United and wasn't starting for Chelsea. Fabregas is a starter and doesn't fufill any needs for top clubs.
