Not so sure about him and Ramires together. Just quickly checked Whoscored and Witsel has 0 goals and 0 assists this season. Of course he's a DM, so it's not really a big deal. But when you play him and Ramires together, that is one defensive pivot. I think one of the reasons Lampard has been playing so often is, when you compare him to our other players in the position, he's the one that clearly poses the biggest goal threat - scoring or assisting - (not to mention he's been doing pretty well defensively, and not just bombing forward recklessly as he did so often last season) Anyway, i can't help but feel someone with similar attributes to Luiz will thrive alongside Rambo. Good passing, good on set-pieces and also help out defensively. Still sad Moutinho went to Monaco.

I didn't see the first goal, but can you see him scoring a goal like the 3rd for Chelsea? Most teams will have 9 defenders back at all times, it's why he was sent on loan to a team like Everton - even when West Brom wanted him back - so he can improve his holdup play and not just rely on his pace on the counter.
-
Mourinho said before the cup game, this is the chance for those that haven't been playing to show him they deserve to. Torres fought hard, Mata defended all game, Azpi looked good, Essen impressed. And KDB was the worst player on the pitch. So not exactly harsh.
-
He can leave if he wants. He offers nothing Oscar and Mata don't, so it's going to be hard for him to ever get a consistent run of games. He might get to play more at BVB, but there he will also have to deal with competition from: Mhkitaryan, Reus, Auba and Kuba, so not exactly easy either.

What's that saying: You don't know what you got till it's gone...
-
He should be the first forward on the team sheet. Simple. He just needs to be better rested than last season, when he was fatigued come end of the season.
-
He did better today though. Last few games he wasn't doing anything, just passing backwards. Today he got past people and drew fouls, got 1 or 2 shots off. Not at his best, but was a decent game, better than anything Oscar did or Ramires - on the wings.
-
It was Mata. I remember because i was scared shitless that Mata was all alone at the back.
-
Luiz-Terry was very good. No one will say anything about Luiz till he makes a mistake.
-
We were robbed of a chance to win the game. But i'll take the point.

TERRRYYYYYYYYYYYY

So pathetic, but it's what i expected seeing the line-up. Oscar has been horrible, yet he's somehow considered untouchable. Lampard can't be playing big games when Mikel and Ramires are fit. The only one that looks decent is Hazard, good to finally say that.
-
Oscar needs to do better.
-
We just made this game tougher. Now our attack is depending on 2 players; Hazard and Torres. They both play well, or we're going to be in for a long day.
-
We didn't play Ramires on the right against fucking Bayern, why do it against Spurs? sigh.
-
I agree about his crossing. Seen him do it at Anzhi too, he just beats his man and hurries the cross to the near post. Can work great if there's someone making a run there, otherwise a pretty easy clearance. Finishing, it was one game. But even then, bad finishing is nothing new from our players.
-
Lol no way on earth. The only thing you can criticize Willian for was being selfish in his search for his 1st goal, but at least i knew he was playing..
-
So much bs here, did AVB and Di Matteo also build the team around Mata? because he didn't just excel under Rafa. Like i said already you cant even Oscar and Mata, attacking wise. The latter is more experienced and light years ahead. Immediately he gets the ball he only needs 2 seconds to know where he is going with it. There is a reason he creates so many chances. Only a matter of time before he gets back to his best and starts shutting bitches up - if not at Chelsea, then any club willing to pay 35m for him.
-
Pretty much same team from yesterday can do the job.
-
When you ask attackers to defend, you live with the consequence. Like the penalties Drogba was giving away during our CL run lol.
-
The players that weren't even in the team yesterday will start for sure. Cech, Ivan, Cole, Lamps, Mikel, Oscar, Hazard. I expect JT, Cahill, Schurrle and Eto'o to complete the team. Torres and Essien might have given Jose something to think about, but fresher players will be preferred. Torres especially, has a much better chance of starting against Steaua.
-
He did alright. There was a moment at the end of the first half where a player was wide open in front of the box, and Mata stepped in front of him to deny any pass coming in, which shows how tactically aware he is of situations around him. Overrall he had his usual good passing numbers and made 3 tackles. So while not impressive, Jose must at least have been pleased with his effort, enough to get him back to 4th choice after Schurrle. And it's only a matter of time before he starts showing what he's got at the other end of the pitch also.

Missed this guy. Laughed so hard when he did the stupid foul throw, and as usual, his rape face at the end of the game
