Look at Ozil, Cazorla, Silva, Coutinho. None of them have to do any extraordinary defensive duty, i can understand when you pick Oscar over Mata against Bayern, but we won't play Bayern every week. We should be dominating possession most games, getting the ball to Mata for him to create chances for others. Sigh.

Also, i wonder why Mourinho didn't say this during the window, because this isn't anything knew - he just hadn't publicly admitted it. If he had, Mata could have been sold for a substantial amount and he'd be somewhere else enjoying his football instead of sitting on the bench here while inferior players play - not just Oscar, but whoever else plays at RW is not better than Mata.

We have 4 goals in 4 games, we should be looking to improve attack instead of focusing on defence. It's ridiculous to even compare Mata and Oscar when it comes to attacking, because the difference is night and day. Mata is a genius, and one of the best creators in Europe. Oscar? not even close to that level at this moment. Hazard has not been playing well, but if Mata was at his best and playing every game it wouldn't be such a big problem. He carried us for long spells last season when Eden was 'adapting'. I really can't think of one CAM attribute Oscar is better than Mata at. Except defending of course, and we all know how freaking important that is for a CAM

No offence, but fuck potential. Mata is not an old man, he's 'only' 25 and can still be on top of his game for another 4-5 seasons. So will Oscar be better than Mata in that time frame when the latter is entering his prime? i think not.

Fair enough. But what about the remaining games where we don't play on the counter? Oscar not even up to half of Mata when it comes to creativity, and breaking down a parked bus.

Then who will be our manager? Mourinho not going anywhere for a long time. He will get whatever time he wants to fix the squad, simply because a manager of his quality deserves just that.

We don't have a lot of width in the attacking 3, but that should not be such a big problem if you have fullbacks who are good going forward. But then Jose uses Ivanovic and Cole who are well, limited. Our attacks will be better if we have fullbacks constantly overlapping, and not just that, able to provide quality. Instead we go through the middle all the time, and when we try to play wide only Ivanovic is an option, and all he does is low crosses to the opposition. Something also has to be done about the speed at which we play. Because there's never any kind of urgency, and only Luiz tries to change it. I think Oscar can do a good job playing deeper allowing our best player to play behind the striker, like only he can.

I miss Torres-Mata combo, at least Mata would always score lol.
