We will still have most of the ball with our current setup. A formation like that makes sense for away games against top teams.

We played 4-4-1-1 and only Mata was given license to not defend. Again it didn't affect him as much after a couple weeks getting used to it, and was far and away our best player in the last couple months. Then again our attack in general was better under Rafa, remember us hitting 4-5 goals on several occasions.

We didn't have this last season and he still played well. The main difference between now and then is he's meant to be the main man in attack this season, while last year he was 2nd option after Mata.

He's good for a laugh. Ridiculous bias.

He has looked better since returning from injury, played bad against City, but at Newcastle he was the only one in attack in the first half. Not playing like last season, but there are other factors involved in that. I reckon he will be better playing with someone like Willian regularly.

Willian and Hazard please. Closest we have to the kind of double threat on both wings that some of the best teams in Europe have.

Nope. We have too much quality in that position already, and not like we can buy him for the future when we're stacked with 21/22/23 year olds.

And Torres.

I laugh whenever i see him playing. His creepy smile stuck in my mind forever. Anyway he played good again. I thought he'd replace Ivanovic at RB, but since he's seemingly an untouchable, Azpi will have to make-do with games in various different positions.

It's good to see us trying different things. Before we used to cross the ball endlessly for Torres to meet 1 out of 20. Now we rarely cross the ball and instead go for cut-backs or low crosses. Only problem is that, Ivanovic is the only fullback who goes forward and only one who gets into those good positions, and he has 0% success rate. Only a matter of time though before he finally finds someone, i hope

He had another quiet/average game in attack. That type of pass from Lamps to Ba is what i hope to see more of from him, we had this last season from Hazard and Mata and thus didn't have to rely on the counter so much to score goals. But now Mata is off form and nothing close to the level he was, and Hazard is also up and down, so we need him to create more chances. Off the ball though, can never fault his commitment or tackling ability, it's like we're playing with 3 central mids.

Boateng really quiet in both games, surprising since he's been really good since he joined Schalke.

Our attack has gone 500 steps back from last season. It's getting annoying, but hopefully we keep the clean sheet and get this important 3 points.

Someone was going to pay for that performance and not make the bench, but i expected it to be Mata.

I think Willian and Schurrle deserve to start, they both at least got a shot off at Newcastle. Something the starters couldn't do for large periods. The third player will be Oscar. Will be one hard-working trio in defense, i just hope they deliver the goods in attack.

Big game for Juve today, anything other than a win and they will have to win away at Gala. Assuming the latter take care of their business of course.
