The only thing i agree with is Willian was/is unnecessary. He's clearly played his better football here when he was #10, but with Oscar on the team, he's going to spend more time than none on the wing and not do much. As for Moses, idc he's a EL quality player. If he stays here only a matter of time before everyone complains about him, and wish we sign Di Maria...

He's been consistently shit since after last Afcon. Needs to join some relegation side and get back to the basics that made him so dangerous at Wigan.

Remains to be seen how PL teams play that 3 def. There's always space to exploit on the wings in that formation, and wing play is one of the strong points of many teams in the league.

Preseason or not, we need someone to get the ball to the attacking players. Fabregas can do this. But if Fabregas plays higher up the pitch, then we have the same problems of slow build up, no creativity from deep etc that we have always had.

Lol Drogba was already bad enough in his last season here (granted he really turned up for CL) I don't know what he's meant to do now 2 years older. I already said it in the match thread, but Mourinho can't complain about striker problems if he goes into the season with 2 past it strikers as backup.

What I know is, him at 10 doesn't improve our play. We might as well have kept Mata for that. What he can offer us is that build up and ball retention from a deeper role, a la Alonso. His defensive problems are up to Mou to cover, like by having Willian or Oscar act like a 3rd midfielder when we're not in possession. Whatever the case, we can't play 2 defensive midfielders like Rammy and Matic, then expect them to start attacks against defensive teams.

I have been thinking of this also, but some of the goals have come from sloppy tired defending that can be forgiven in preseason.

Preseason is a good way to spot obvious problems. For example our ST situation is still shit, Mou can't complain when the season starts because Torres has been showing his true nature in the preseason. Also, Fabregas at 10 doesn't help our build-up.

Wouldn't read anything into us playing 2 strikers. Hazard just joined the team, and we still have 3 AM's not here yet.

This to me pretty much confirms Romeu will leave on loan. Mikel/Matic as DM. Fabregas/MVG/Ramires for the other spot in the pivot, or 2 of them in 4-3-3.
