I hope he stays, have a part in our rotation. I would like to see Lampard mentoring him the same Cole has taken Bertrand under his wing. That would be the best case scenario. Josh is an amazing talent, his vision is probably the best i have seen at his age.

They really don't have an issue and don't really need a plan B. Take our game for example in the CL, this is a good video of the many chances they created. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=O-gq7zqpFLY I think we should acknowledge how lucky we were to win that game, and in any other nights they would have finished those chances. Which makes our CL even more improbable and amazing.

Not this shit again. I personally haven't rated Modric, since Redknapp brought VDV and accommodate him in their formation. He also goes missing big games, can't remember anything notable he has done against top sides, not worth the fuss spuds make.
-
The games i remember watching Bremen is him off the bench or being subbed off . I Can't recall seeing him play 90minutes in any of those games. But my sample size is 7-8 games, so i maybe mistaken. Either way i am not expecting much from Marin. All i gathered from him is that he can dribble and has good movement. But other then that he is a poor finisher and end product leaves a lot to be desired. I will reevaluate him once i see him in a Chelsea shirt of course.
-
I think people need to lower their expectation on Marin, he was a bench warmer at Bremen so don't expect him to be very much used at Chelsea. If he plays a pivotal role for us, that would be a pleasant surprise. If he give us some quality minutes as a sub and as rotation player then i would be very happy. Meh that is not happening, it sound good and all but it is not happening. I remember i made the argument against buying Modric and we should give Josh his chance. But what happened is that we didn't sign Modric, and ended up seeing Meireles instead of Josh. Same thing will happen so if we don't sign Hulk expect a lot Slow Flo Malouda. It is easy for me, if the question is who i would rather have Hulk or Ramires at RW then it is clearly Hulk. Ramires gave some 1-2 good moments in each of those matches at RW, but not a consistent threat offensively. Hulk is the better player, with the uncertainty of Torres goal scoring ability that makes Hulk even more important on the right. RW is the biggest glare atm, there is not another position that needs more improving.

Its great to know we have so many Nostradamus on this forum. Apparently they have spoken, Sturridge will never be good enough to make it at Chelsea, even though he has never been given the opportunity to lead the line. Even though he was arguably our best player for the first half of the season playing out of position, and lets not forget he is only 22 and only been a consistent regular for the senior squad for only a mere season. Quite honestly it is disturbing that more people here believe Torres will come good rather then giving Sturridge any hope. What kinda of logic is that when we have seen Torres given numerous opportunity only fail time after time. It would be nice to see what Sturridge can do as CF before we deem to be never good enough for Chelsea standard. I'll admit Torres deserves his opportunity post drogba to show what he is capable of, but Sturridge rightfully deserves the opportunity to compete against him.

I would say Witsel is going to be expensive, espically when it is a Benfica player and Real Madrid is sniffing around. Probably in the range of 18-25m. He is an excellent player and would prefer him over his compatriot Fellaini. I can see why Jose is interested; He is disciplined, creative, versatile, and good work rate. Very fitting for Real Madrid, i can see him going there if they decide to ship out Sahin. Shame we are not being linked.

How is Henry and RVP an example of busting the Position inflexibility myth? Henry was a bench warmer at Juventus, and only succeeded when Wenger turned him into a ST. Same with RVP but to lesser degree.

I kinda completely disagree. I rather have one style of football, it makes hiring managers, integrating youths, and signing the right players for your team a lot easier. So we don't have to go throw another AVB or a signing like Torres, and have a player come through the ranks one that is not named John Terry. Having an identity and playing style is a way we can achieve stability, and stability is a key to constant success. Constantly changing your style is a recipe for failure. Bold part: What you are basically describing is a small team mentality, kinda like most of the mid table team that plays us.
-
I think we can go into next season with Hutchinson and Ivanovic as our two RB's. I also think Ramires can play in that position if needed.
-
I can already see Daily Fail sensational headline " Hazard tells Chelsea he wants 200K and Terry's number 26."
-
But i do think he prefers to play behind the striker.
-
Hulk was impressive as always, but the player Chelsea should also look at is Oscar. He is a very good talent and always has caught my eye when when watching Internacional. He is going to catch the eye of Europe sooner then later.
-
The only reason Malouda is staying is because he has one year left in his contract, its not really a vote of confidence by the board or anyone for that matter. Moving Essien will be problematic, especially with his injuries and high wages. I think he might force a move because of the limited playing time. Turnbull is mainly here because of the homegrown criteria, and somewhat decent as a backup.

How reliable is Times? Seems like they are behind those rumors.
-
Ivanovic is average going forward, i wouldn't say he is good. Van Der Wiel is excellent going forward, and defending is an upgrade over Bosingwa. Also to be noted that VDW is much better with Holland, and seems to play better when surrounded with a better cast. I would say Azpilicueta is more likely going around 20m then 10m. If we are going to spend on a RB, i would go for Lukasz Piszczek. He is a player who has done very well for Dortmund, and saved them a few times with critical goals and assists. Its not fans, more mangers and the game. Even the most defensive minded managers like Mourinho prefers attacking fullbacks and just rather shield them with a DM.
-
We have Ivanovic who can defend first, but not the best going forward. Van Der Wiel is the opposite. It is not a bad fit. Azpilicueta is going to be expensive, and would not want to share playing time with Ivanovic.
-
Pretty sure that Aguero would want that no.10 if Dzeko leaves, and also most likely United promised him their famous #7.

I see us approaching Pep after his last game of the season, i don't think anything has been planned. I don't think he is leaving Barca because of the constant pressure. More to do with his relationship with the new Barca regime. I found what Johan Cruyff intresting

Wanted to replay for a while but didn't get the chance. Meireles being sold had nothing to do with AVB arrival at Porto, more to do with the fact it was perfect opportunity to make a profit and Meireles was linked with a exit for a while. We just have to agree to disagree, because i don't think Chelsea would have been interested Meireles or he would have joined us if it wasn't for AVB. Remember he left Pool because he wanted more playing time, his relationship with AVB sold him to join us. I don't have any sources before their switch, only articles discussing how Romeu was heavily linked to Porto the year before. I would imagine those articles would be in Spanish or Portuguese if they do exist. I think you are mistaken about Ramires for example. He actually fitted very nicely into AVB system, because last season at Porto he used Guarin the same way as Ramires. In his system the RCM are used to move forward and help the attack. Ramires wasn't effective as Guarin, because he doesn't have the passing or vision like Guarin. What didn't fit the system was Lampard, because he was very attack minded. The LCM in his system are asked to stay disciplined and not move forward. With the exception of the RCM in AVB system midfield doesn't have a major role in attack and very dependent on forward. Mata and Sturridge didn't press well, it is not just them the whole team is not really good at pressing as a whole. Particularity you can't have a highline defense without pressing, it is which why we struggled in the highline. AVB made a lot of changes here at Chelsea but what he wanted was his system and players. I also disagree with Lukaku as the next Drogba comparison, and i always thought of it as absurd. He is more Torres if you ask me, both would prefer the ball ahead of them and run behind the defenders for it. Drogba is more comfortable with the ball at his foot and droping back to connect the midfield with attack. I guess we have to agree to disagree because i believe a manager role is more then tactics, and it is why have gone through so many managers. Lets see what happens who get appointed.
-
Who is the one that has played out of position again? I remember Sturridge has played exclusively as wide player this season, with the exception of the last game of the PL season. While Torres has been exclusively as a CF. Need to come up with something better.
-
Why? in all likelihood we will go into next season with Torres, Sturridge, and Lukaku as our CF. I have faith in Torres, but there is no guarantee he will hit on all cylinders. Sturridge can take his chances and prove he is the best CF on the squad. Fuck off, every comments of yours is shit as the next one.
