Why commit a needless foul in your own box. trying to outdo the teams good work
-
serious question. is Eto'o retarded?
-
Oscar is so shit at taking corners
-
And there lies the problem. we shouldn't be using such term in relation to the squad after spending over 270m over the past 4 seasons. I have often maintained that emenalo has done a terrible job as far as building a balanced team and addressing the needs and weakness of the team/squad.. . . poor use of resources. Man city have spent roughly similar amount as us in the same time frame despite us having atleast a decade head start on building our team and yet they are still in a better position than us squad wise.
-
I can't say I'm surprised.
-
Playing Luiz in midfield is a damning evidence of the poor state of our central midfield. A club with our resources shouldn't be facing such problems without a major injury crisis.
-
And predictably he drops mata for oscar despite how well he played against swansea
-
£40m plus £2 should do the trick. we have to go one better than arsenal
-
You must have a very low criteria and standard for your definition of technical ability.

Read the first couple of pages of the Torres thread after watching this gif for comic relief. He reminds me of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emxI-nRGWBE

Somewhere in Holland, Peter Bosz is secretly hoping there's some truth to this rumour and it does indeed happen. He fits the emenalo transfer policy of stockpiling AM,s and youngsters that we may never see feature for the first team or add any value to the squad before they get shipped out, nicely. And people wonder why we have not being able to challenge for the title for the past 3 seasons despite being the second biggest spenders in the league in that period. If you do what you have always done then you will get the same results you have always gotten.

David luiz the regista sans playmaker. He's not totally useless afterall. It would have been a tad nicer and more beneficial to the team if the accolade he receives is more about his defending rather than his playmaking abilities and style of play.

The 2013 version of Vidic (when fit) is still more reliable than Luiz same way JT has outperformed him this season. for some players, class is permanent
-
Well we just seem to differ in our interpretation of the most important characteristics of great centrebacks which to me falls into two category. Mental qualities: Determination, concentration, temperament, courage and decision making Tactical awareness: positioning, anticipation, tackling, communication, organisation skills, aerial ability .. . . technical ability falls below those qualities everyday of the week for me and like I said before, I will take a technically average player that possess the characteristics listed in abundance over a "David Luiz" everytime. For example JT was never the quickest defender even in his prime, Vidic has never possessed good/great passing ability,Hyypia,Tony adams,Thuram, carragher et al were never the most technically mesmerizing defenders nor the quickest and cannavaro wasn't a freak of nature physically but they were all able to dominate due to the fact that they possessed and relied on those qualities which I believe are more important than technical ability and physical gifts.
-
And there I was thinking we are the crown jewel of Europe and possess the best squad on the planet playing the most fluid, jaw dropping and breathtaking football. stop ruining the party you.
-
lol I always knew Zlatan and Ronaldo are world class centrebacks potentially (I will be using this word a lot now). they can play football and physically gifted too. let's buy the portuguese as JT's replacement since, apparently, he has the most important qualities of a world class defender i.e technical ability and built.

Teams depending on its best players shocker. that statement applies to virtually every team in the world and shouldn't be used to discredit their achievement. moreover they are the ONLY team in the league to give MCFC a real challenge at the etihad this season and were very unlucky not to have gotten anything out of that game. we can use some overachieving too as we have been punching way below our weight this season, performance wise.

Our strikers situation and looking forward into the future

A young hasselbaink would be so clutch right now -
On what basis is david luiz world class. what is the definition and criteria being used here. let's not cheapen that word as it deserves to only be used in association with the elite and super consistent and reliable players.
-
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we do. and even if we attempt to play an open game, i',m willing to bet that the scousers will still have more possession and dominate the midfield and attack.we are the antithesis of a possession based team and that's not necessarily by intention but by design as emphasized on your "how do you define technical ability thread" and our performances against the big teams and high pressing teams. Sometimes when it appears as though we are parking the bus, it's just a case of the opposition pushing us back and we simply lack the ability to change the momentum and regain control as we often struggle to even string 4 passes together without turning it over under the slightest pressure. A quote to sum it up is, sometimes the spirit is willing but the flesh is too weak.

I missed the game today but was he really that bad?

And predictably Cahill is mentioned and compared to Luiz for the 1 millionth time by the fanboys who are insecure and feel it's neccessary to put Cahill down in order to make the brazilian look good. If Cahill had cost £21m plus matic (a player now valued at £30m plus) and his performance level and consistency didn't reflect the valuation even in the slightest then I wouldn't hesitate to crucify him.You cannot judge a squad player that was bought for the purposes of being nothing more than a squad player as reflected by his transfer fee to a "marque signing" The same way it would be very unfair and retarded even, to hold Victor moses to the same standard as Hazard. bottomline is Huge transfer fees comes with huge expectations and responsibility and Luiz has certainly not lived up to the billing and is gradually becoming the most excused and pampered player in Chelsea's history. Torres better watch his back cos Luiz is coming after his elusive crown.

TBF every tom and harry has better ratio than our strikers this season. They couldn't finish their dinner plate even if their lives depended on it.

And then shit gets real as we pay £50m for him in jan
