He's not worth £40m. You guys really think he's worth more than Aguero? I definitely don't. If he played for any club other than Porto he'd probably be a £20-25m player.
Just think of it this way: They played their strongest side and were at home. We played with Schurrle up front and without our best player and they still couldn't score. Cech didn't even break a sweat. We come away from that game with the same mindset. We're still 2 players short of having a complete squad. A striker and a CM.
We need a ball winning CM with presence and composure who can still play a pinpoint pass and offer something going forward. Like Carrick for example. Someone who would allow Ramires to do what he does best. It's really hard and annoying watching Ramires and Lamps together who both want to bomb forward and leave our defense exposed.De Rossi would've been perfect.
I think some of you are just so desperate for a striker that you'd take anyone. I agree with Skipper. Martinez isn't the player we need. We should just wait until January to see if we still need someone and play Lukaku. Buy a CM now.
And just as I suspected a few weeks back, no matter how bad it looks, no matter how obvious it was that he was unhappy and wanted to leave, the United fans cheered him like sheep as if nothing ever happened. Just like the last time he wanted out.
Torres reminds me of a Golden Retriever these days. Sees the ball, runs to it, does a couple of nice tricks, then brings it right to the opposition. Like a good dog.
Even if United matched Real's bid or exceeded it by £5m Spuds would reject it. Don't think any amount of money could persuade Levy to sell to a team in England. He'll be a Madrid player any day now.
He probably looks at his Belgian teammates and Benteke at Villa thinking "why am I not playing like they are?" He knew he'd be in for a fight for a place in a club as big as this, but you can't help but feel sorry for him after the preseason he had and the top notch attitude he's displayed.
United played their strongest possible side and were at home while we played without our best player and no striker and they still couldn't win. We played pretty poorly and still get a nice point. Defense was immense.
Was really hoping Lamps would be a sparsely used player this season. He's just not good enough to be a first choice, every match player anymore. He hinders us more than he helps us.
Just like last season, we have all of these flair and possession players yet we can't string together more than 2 passes. We need Mata on to get Hazard into the game.
