  1. The way a huge number of clubs are apparently queueing up trying to snatch Tel you’d think he’s Florian Wirtz and is the most promising AM Prost left out there. I just don’t see it. He doesn’t look special at all to me on YT where anyone can be made to look awesome. He looks like yet another raw attacker who doesn’t have a natural position. I feel like if he came here he’d be in the exact situation that Nkunku & Felix are currently in. He’d come on for a few minutes here and there, fail to impress in that limited time, and then rot on the bench.
  2. 🤢🤢🤢 Just what we need, the English Nico Jackson who will run and look pretty good until it comes to actually burying chances. Wouldn’t put it past our jokers in charge, though, you’re right.
  3. Is there not some other under the radar striker tearing it up in some other league in a similar way that Marmoush was before City bought him?
  4. Really is the only reason I can think of. Neither is at the age where they could be flipped later for more than we paid for them if they don’t work out.
  5. With both Osimhen & Gyokeres having set release clauses I really wonder what is preventing us from triggering either of them. Players have told us they aren’t interested? Both clauses are well below the £100m mark that any super elite striker like say Isak would cost. So why the hell don’t we try?
  6. Tells you everything about the character of Duran that he’s jumping at the chance to go to Saudi at his age despite being coveted by a bunch of the very biggest European clubs. I asked yesterday before the Saudi stuff popped up whether he was actually what we need. Now seeing this I’m even more glad we didn’t spend stupid money on him.
  7. Kind of crazy how silent it is with just 2 days left in the window. What we do or don’t do this week can really decide our season. If we don’t bring in a goal scorer then it will be made 100% clear to us that the board/sporting directors aren’t bothered about reaching the UCL places this season.
  8. Every report that comes out about Tel PLUS the fact that I don’t think he’s got a place in our team makes me really hope we don’t push for him. Avoid at all costs.
  9. I suspected when we first recalled him that we just wanted to give him a head start training with the first team for 6 months before being ready to contribute here next season.
  10. Honestly, missing out on both Garnacho and Tel would be a big time blessing in disguise. I’m glad it seems as if the Garnacho situation just died suddenly after everyone and their mother had reported it was happening. Neither player is what we need at all right now. Especially Tel, a player with no defined position and who is too raw to be a major contributor in an already young team. At this point I’m done even thinking about the this club bringing in anyone this week. I don’t trust them. So now my focus is on hoping they don’t do anything stupid. Signing nobody is better than them making some stupid deal for a player like Disasi who we’ll be trying to sell off 6 months from now.
  11. Replacing a dude who barely played with a teenager who can’t get a game at Bayern just seems silly. Garnacho was a stupid target but at least he has a load of PL matches under his belt.
  12. What exactly does Mathys Tel bring to us? I just don’t get it, man…
  13. Our complete ineptitude at bringing in any players that we badly need has kinda of overshadowed the fact that we’ve been just as incompetent at getting rid of a bunch of players who should be sold.
  14. The club will panic and do something I feel. But it definitely won’t be someone any of us want.
  15. I just can’t escape the feeling that if we spent mega money on Duran he’d come here and flop.
  16. Both Felix & Nkunku are quite clearly players that need to be playing constantly to show their levels. Coming in for 5 minutes here or 10 minutes there or not even playing at all for multiple matches in a row is never going to lend itself to these guys showing anything. They’ve both gotten fucked over, really. But honestly, I can’t even put complete blame on Maresca. He quite rightly thinks that Palmer should always be on the pitch in the PL and he occupies that same area that Christo & Felix like to. Sticking either of them out on the wing makes them ineffective and despite not being in great form we have plenty of natural wingers. So they’re kind of just unlucky that our best and most important player is a #10 and without him on the pitch we ain’t scoring many goals. So where does that leave Felix and Nkunku? Not playing as we see. As much as I really, really wanted him back and as brilliant as I think he is as a footballer it was clearly a mistake to bring Felix back. I could still imagine a scenario where he could thrive here but it would require Maresca to drop one of his favorites Madueke and play Palmer out on the right which he did to great effect last season. I think Felix in the 10, Palmer on the right, and Neto or Sancho on the left would be amazing but we haven’t even seen Enzo try it. As for Nkunku, his situation is just so disappointing. When we signed him I genuinely thought he’d take us to a whole new level. But watching him these days he just comes across as completely disinterested, lazy, and as if he’d rather be anywhere else. He just jogs around half-heartedly. Which I really can’t even blame him for because he gets used in positions he doesn’t like and in the lesser competitions nobody cares about. I can’t see how we don’t take MASSIVE losses on both of them considering the fees we paid.
  17. Already braced for us to sign some attacker who most of us ask “who the fuck is that?” in the final days of the window. Then when we buy yet another player who isn’t Chelsea quality we’ll be flogging them in 6 months time. That’s if we sign anyone at all.
  18. Palace wouldn’t sell him surely.
  19. “Setting up a move for the summer” in regards to a #9 does us a whole lot of good when we’re desperate for one now. 🤦‍♂️ No club is going to sanction their elite striker being sold in the last couple of days of the window. So we can completely forget about any of those at this point. If we do bring in a #9 this week it’ll be some insane panic signing like Evan Ferguson on loan. The club have fucked it up terribly.
  20. Tbh, I think I’d rather have Delap for our team specifically. Works and runs his fucking socks off and is a nightmare for opposing defenses as we witnessed firsthand. Duran seems more like a “moments” striker, right? Someone who can score absolute bangers out of nowhere but is he a #9 who is going to be a constant menace to defenders? Someone would have to tell me.
  21. All this talk about sending out all these players while there isn’t any talk about how we replace them. Veiga was our only viable LB cover since Maresca doesn’t fancy Chilwell. Felix and Nkunku have been perfect rotation options in the other competitions.
  22. What an unmitigated disaster this last transfer window (and this one as a result) was. And as for Duran who people keep bringing up, I know he was scoring some bangers to start the season but hasn’t he been super quiet in recent times? Is he actually what we need at all? A young, still very raw striker when that’s what we already have in Jackson? I’m not sure he’d be a smart signing at all.
  23. Just feels like the Sterling loan move. Like yeah, he’s out of sight and out of mind for a few months which I guess is a benefit to us. But also like Sterling, Did]sas I will now come back in the summer and be extremely difficult to sell unless he kills it on loan which is unlikely.
  24. How the hell does sending Disasi on loan benefit us at all? 🤦‍♂️
  25. I hope it’s not just a loan. Because if he goes somewhere on loan and stinks up the place like he has here it’ll be even harder to move him on in the summer.
