  1. Think at this point it’s going to come down to how wide the gap is between our wage offer and the Saudi one and also how ambitious Osimhen is. You would hope that our wage offer isn’t something he and his agent deem “disrespectful.” Like, offer a base salary of just over £200k per week to bring him in line with our top earners and give him incentives to hit which will give him raises. Because if we offer him £120k a week they’ll probably (rightly) laugh in our faces and tell us to fuck off.
  2. Hope so. Really don’t think it would be wise to let such a big deal in such an important position go to the final hours of the window. If anything happens and the deal collapses or PSG suddenly jump in and turn his head it would completely fuck us and we end up with nobody to pivot to. So hopefully the club will have told Osimhen/his agent that we need a definitive answer today/tomorrow. If we can’t settle it by then we’ll have a little bit of time to go for Toney I guess.
  3. If his wages weren’t so massive you’d almost call it a steal if he can hit the heights he did two seasons ago.
  4. I wonder what the price could be if we do buy him. More than the €65m the Saudi club offered? The same? Less but with another player in addition to Lukaku going the other way? If we got him for just the €65m and end up paying less for Osimhen than Spuds did for Solanke it would be pretty hilarious.
  5. We may have such a ridiculous number of attacking mods that we may not even miss them at this point.
  6. Neto, Felix, Nkunku, Palmer, Madueke, Sancho, Estevão, and Paez. KDH may also be counted as an AM depending on the game he’s playing in. Even with both Sterling and Mudryk gone that’s far too many. Unless the club are already planning for loan deals of Estevão and Paez which would be pretty surprising.
  7. We are going to regret taking Sancho so much in the future I feel. And not because I don’t think he could potentially be very solid still. He can be. But because we’re just creating a massive and unnecessary headache for ourselves next summer when we’re going to have a million AM’s and no space for many of them. Such a dumb idea.
  8. Agree. If we saw breaking news that Toney was joining someone like Fulham or West Ham or Wolves id say "yeah, thats probably his level." A step up from Brentford in terms of club size but not somewhere with UCL ambitions.
  9. Ivan Toney is someone I’d have to see performing in our team before I believe he’s good enough. Because at the moment he looks like one of the countless strikers we’ve seen light it up for a small club and then become extremely underwhelming when they take a massive step up. If we’re talking purely about his skill set he probably does fit a Maresca side better than Osimhen. But is he good enough quality wise? Man, that’s tough to say…
  10. The Osimhen saga is boring as hell now. One day one reporter says he prefers PSG, the next someone else says he prefers Saudi, and then the next day Chelsea. May as well just not pay any attention at all until Friday.
  11. Italian vs Italian crime. Di Marzio vs Fabrizio. Who will be proved right?
  12. Imagine going from Real Madrid to Bournemouth. I know he wasn’t actually playing in Madrid but still. Hopefully Kepa does really well so they or someone else buy him for good next summer.
  13. Yeah, Carney and Trev are the ones I was thinking. If we get to deadline day we may panic and sell them for WAY below what they’re worth. Carney I could see another big club wanting to take a chance on. His talent and potential are huge and I could see him becoming a top player if he starts playing every match for someone. Be sad to see him go but we have literally no space for him after the business we’ve done this summer.
  14. Closer we get to Friday the more desperate we’ll get in trying to move some of the out of favor players. We could be forced to do pretty shit deals.
  15. So Chiesa being linked to Liverpool now. Would suck to see a player I love go to a club I hate but I really don’t think he’d have much of an impact there. The prime Chiesa pre-injury would’ve been insane at Liverpool but he’s not quite the same these days and will be more of a depth signing/backup. Also see that City may loan out Matheus Nunes. City have been so dominant in recent years that it’s totally overlooked how they’ve had some seriously expensive flops. Grealish, Phillips, Nunes etc. Never really gets mentioned because the rest of their team is so good.
  16. I thought they were good with PSR now after dealing with us and also selling Douglas Luiz. Idk.
  17. Villa selling their super sub, potential future star young striker to a direct top 4 rival with mere days remaining (or even on deadline day itself) seems incredibly unlikely and straight up idiotic on their part. If we pulled the trigger 3 weeks or so ago when we were heavily linked they would’ve done it. Think that ship has sailed. Until we see Ivan Toney give his final answer on whether he’ll go to Saudi or not I can’t escape the idea that we’ll go for him this week.
  18. At this point I bet we’re going to get some striker this week that makes all of us go “where the fuck did that come from?!” just like when we suddenly went for Neto and Felix completely out of nowhere. I just hope said striker isn’t an unproven kid. Osimhen seems to be 100% money motivated going by the reporting these last 24 hours.
  19. Yeah, what does that even mean? We have to pay him off or something?
  20. I mean, yeah, ideally you’d love 2 great keepers from a supporters POV. But I’m just wondering how it would work in practice. If Allison extends it seems silly to have 2 top 5 keepers on one roster.
  21. Mamar to Liverpool done. A week or two ago when this rumor started I thought it was a brilliant, forward thinking move for Liverpool. Allison would play one final season and then ride off into the Saudi sunset and they’d have the ready made replacement all sewn up. But then two days ago Allison came out and said he was very happy at Liverpool and wants to stay for many more years. So how does this move make any sense? They going to have 2 world class keepers at once with one riding the bench every week?
  22. Imagine how difficult it’ll be to shift Sancho on if he came here and flopped like he has at United. Especially if we did one of our customary 6-7 year contracts. Even if we DID need a winger and weren’t already stacked in attacking midfield he’d be someone I’d avoid. The fact that in the last 2 weeks we’ve signed 2 and already had Palmer, Nkunku, and Madueke makes it even sillier to be going after him. And on the off chance Sancho came here and looked like the Dortmund version again what happens next summer when the two South American gems come over and all 3 AM positions are stacked with 2 quality players in each of them? All of whom are in their early to mid 20’s. There would be zero pathway to our first team. Clearlake cannot do this. They have to think about the problems it would cause in the future.
  23. What a waste that would be if he decides to take it eventually. Prime of his career thrown down the drain.
