Even with Ander Herrera their midfield doesn't worry me at all. Not until they have a proper, top class DM rather than Fellaini or an old Carrick coming off of a terrible season. Should be amusing watching the United fans try to big Herrera up as a "world class" player who's suddenly better than Fabregas.
-
Could've sworn that Guillem Balague or some other Spanish football "expert" said that he had a pretty mediocre season. Can't say I heard much about him this past season.
-
Cowards, Term? Come on.We could get Ricardo Rodriguez for just over half of that who's MUCH better than Shaw is currently.
-
I'm going to laugh next season when Luis comfortably outperforms him and cost half the price. Good, young player but in no way is he worth that kind of money.
-
Luke fucking Shaw for more than Hazard, Oscar, Fabregas, Diego Costa... Unbelievable. Unreal. Desperate from United.
-
Hindsight has nothing to do with it. It's common sense for everyone but Del Bosque, apparently.Xavi is past it and Silva does basically the same job as Iniesta which makes him redundant. They could've used a more aggressive and attack minded Cesc or Mata in there.
-
Should've had a second assist to Mata but the shot was well blocked. Really should've started from the first match instead of either Xavi or Silva.
-
Our defense was just as good as Atleti's last season and will be better this coming season when we sign their two best defensive players.
-
Yeah, that's the way I've been saying it.The commentator today Derek Rae I think it was said something like "you may have heard his name pronounced in a few different ways, but it's actually pronounced like brow-nuh." And I agree about Alexi Lalas. He's shit. McManaman is probably the only scouse I actually enjoy listening to.
-
Disappointed to learn today that his name is pronounced "de Brown-uh." All this time I've been pronouncing it "de Broyn."
-
He'd benefit from playing with Matic, Fabregas, Hazard, Willian, and Costa too. We'll have the lions share of possession in most matches next season so Kroos would be awesome in a 3 man midfield.
-
He probably wouldn't look great there because he'd be surrounded by shit midfield partners like Fellaini, Carrick, and Cleverly.Don't get why people keep calling him overrated. Don't see people comparing him to or saying he's on the same level as players like Vidal. He's just a very solid, tidy creative midfielder.
-
Why's your twitter blocked? You have some stalkers, Barb?
-
He's only overrated if you're thinking about him as the main man in midfield. If he's got top class players next to and in front of him to compliment him (Matic & Cesc for instance) he's excellent.Dirt cheap when compared to other midfielders too.
-
Everything running through him here for Germany once again. Just effortlessly sits deep and dictates the tempo like a puppeteer pulling the strings. *sigh* I still want him here so badly.
-
He just seems like the kind of player that Real Madrid would ditch or force out in order to bring in the flashy, galactico like Suarez. Just like they forced Özil out for the flavor of the month Isco. Coincidentally, I could see Benzema going to Arsenal just like Özil did. Hope not because I think he'd be lethal in that side.
-
If he was 5 years younger I'd say sure, you need high quality depth for rotation and challenging on multiple fronts. Not only is he nearly 30 but he plays in a position that is the last place we need to buy players in. Puzzling if true.
-
Why? Just why...
-
Who besides Khedira? Alonso just renewed and Isco & Illara have been there a year. Their midfield is packed.
-
Seems like a pretty stupid move for him to go to Madrid. Doesn't really feel valued and important at Bayern so you go to a side who already has Modric, Alonso, Illaramendi, Khedira, and Isco in midfield? Even if they flog Khedira off Kroos won't displace Xabi I wouldn't think. A Kroos/Modric partnership wouldn't be defensively solid enough. Think this would be just like the Isco transfer where everyone thought he'd be a direct Özil replacement and be a big player for them and then he warms the bench most of the time.
-
If what you say is true (and it most likely is) then what's the point of keeping Lukaku? Why would he even want to come back?May as well cash in on him and keep Ba and Torres as backups.
-
You've clearly not watched him much with that statement. He was EASILY better than Costa in his Napoli days when he was the main man. It was genuinely hard to separate him and Falcao as the 2 best pure strikers in the world a couple of years ago. Anyways, I'd be happy if we signed Costa but over the moon with Cavani. Not happening but I can dream. Think Costa will score around 20 league goals for us next season. Cavani would score many more I think, though.
-
Cavani is better than Costa. When he actually plays as the main striker he's one of the 2-3 best in the world.
-
Sure, he may not have a 100% conversion rate but just look at the work he does. Drops deep in midfield to help out, drops back and defends where a fullback should be, and then still has the energy and hunger to play as a pure striker.
-
His movement, the runs he makes, and the work rate he has where he helps all over the pitch is second to none among strikers. Truly the PERFECT José center forward. We'd win the PL and CL with him leading our line. If it were up to me we'd break the bank for him. Don't care if it's £50m or £60m he'd be worth it. We have the cash.
