  1. I'm a fan of his game but in either Conte's 3-4-3 or the supposed 4-2-4 he's rumored to want to try next season James wouldn't really have a place. He doesn't offer what Hazard, Pedro, or Willian do. He's more of an Özil type. A luxury player who has many trade offs I'm not sure Conte would put up with. We need an attacking signing with high work rate, pace, and power. In other words, Alexis Sanchez.
  2. Perfect advert for Conte to show the board why we need investment and that a couple of these players could do with a loan. Much as we all love Zouma, he simply isn't good enough technically or mentally to be a regular here yet. He needs to go somewhere and play every week. He's got everything physically but that isn't enough at this level. Kenedy isn't Chelsea quality at all, really. Batshuayi shows glimpses of class but has the first touch of an elephant. What's up with Belgian strikers and poor first touch? The ball bounces off his feet like a brick wall. On a positive note, Chalobah continues to look the real deal. Excellent passing range on display there.
  3. Funny to see Eden's name in there alongside all our fringe players. Maybe he's got some nice, juicy bonuses in his contract and lobbied Conte to play him.
  4. The logic is, he's young, very quick, extremely skillful, probably very affordable in relative terms, and has shown that he can cut it in this league. All of the other Leicester players are old and nearly past it. I think Mahrez can take another step up. He hasn't peaked yet and on the way down like the others. Again, I'll reiterate that he's not my first choice or even the best choice. Just an option to consider. I'll put it this way, if we signed him would I be upset or very underwhelmed? No. Would I be over the moon and certain he'll take us to another level? No, but I'd be more than okay with him here.
  5. I think we just rate Mahrez a bit differently. You seem to feel that he's an average player who had a freak, one off great season whilst I think he can reach a similar level again if he plays for a better side. I think everyone at Leicester until Claudio was finally sacked was in hangover mode from last season. We've seen everyone who was unbelievable last season (Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Vardy, Mahrez) drop dramatically this season. What's to say Kante wouldn't have struggled a bit this season had he stayed there? I have a feeling that if Mahrez moves to a big club (be it us, Spuds, Arsenal etc) he'll reach a very high level again. He'll have confidence back and be surrounded by a MUCH higher standard of player and coaches. You're certainly correct that he isn't a A-list, superstar signing that'll elevate the club's status or anything. I'm just saying...could be a good fallback option if other targets fall through. Not saying he should be our priority or #1 choice.
  6. I love Pedro, but Mahrez was insane last season and on a completely different level. While I agree that Mahrez wouldn't be a large upgrade on what we already have, I still think he'd be a great signing if the likes of Sanchez and Bernardo aren't possible. Like Hazard, he has the ability to dribble past a defender (or 2 or 3) at will. He's a nightmare to mark. That's super valuable for a side that'll be up against a lot of parked buses next season. Mahrez could be great value for £25-30m when compared to the likes of Sanchez/Bernardo/James etc who would be minimum £50m probably.
  7. Not only does he seem like the exact opposite of a Mourinho player, but he also plays in a position they already have many players in. Makes no sense for United to buy him for any reason other than as a Galactico, PR signing because he's a big name. They have Mata, Mkhitaryan, Martial, Lingard, Rashford, and even Fellaini who all play in those positions behind the striker. Honestly, I wouldn't even worry much if he went there since he's not the sort of player they need. Don't think he really elevates them a level.
  8. Hope Mourinho makes this the most boring, anti climactic snooze fest and steals a late goal to spoil the party.
  9. Or maybe because he's scored about 50 goals in the last two seasons? Anyways, unlike any other striker we would bring in, we wouldn't have to worry about a potential settling in period with Lukaku so that's another huge positive. He knows what PL football is all about and the demands that are placed on a player. For example, we just saw the Bundesliga player of the year Mkhitaryan struggle mightily in his first season in England and he was unstoppable in Germany last season. When you're spending mega money on a striker you can't afford a poor season from him. Unless United come in with an offer that we'd be stupid to pay, I think Lukaku is as good as ours at this point. Think he's desperate to return "home," and prove that he's earned his way back to Chelsea.
  10. Whichever players we bring in, let's hope they were personally asked for by Conte. No more "board" signings.
  11. If the club actually do this and allow Conte to spend on the level of the two Manchester's we'll win the league again.
  12. That's true, but making them relive that sort of nightmare would be too much I think. Though, we did them a favor and gave them Cech so perhaps we have some good will in the bank.
  13. Sanchez is probably impossible for us. Their fans would riot in the streets of Wenger sold him to Chelsea. Bernardo has to be our top choice but we'll likely have tons of competition from around Europe. Mahrez is the perfect fallback option.
  14. Like, imagine Mahrez on our right flank on one of our lightning counters. Ridiculous. We've all been crying out for another super skillful, great in tight spaces player like Hazard all season. Mahrez is easily obtainable, would probably jump at the chance to sign with us, and is PL proven for whatever that's worth. Probably wouldn't cost more than £30m either.
  15. When he's in the mood like he was at some points today against City he's unstoppable 1 on 1 just like Hazard. Honeslty, I'd have him here for a decent fee. His value surely isn't crazy like it would've been last summer. Hope he doesn't end up at one of our London rivals as is rumored. Think he'd be fantastic at a big club where he's not the sole creative spark.
  16. This is what's annoying as fuck. Can't fault or slate them for playing like this when they need to and the games matter. To set up solely to defend with 10 behind the ball and packing the box in a match that's meaningless to them is pathetic.
  17. May need to get one on the break since this lot have a double decker parked in their box.
  18. Hopefully the combination of poor weather and this match being meaningless to them will make this easier. No Kante against the physical West Brom may be something they can exploit, though.
  19. Would be super hype if the club announced a new contract for Conte on Saturday after we win the title. A nice, big fuck off to Inter!
  20. I must say, he looks fucking electric and almost unstoppable in this video. I knew he was very skillful for a striker but in these highlights he could pass as an excellent wide player.
  21. I'm guessing that something in the Adidas contract prevents us from unveiling/wearing the new Nike ones before the end of the season like we usually do?
  22. Why on earth would Conte leave the (soon to be) champions in the biggest league for a completely irrelevant, nearly midtable, faded star like Inter? A club who has zero chance of overtaking Juve any time soon. Not happening.
  23. Really shouldn't be a one or the other situation. We should be after both Lukaku and Morata. We can't have a massive drop off in quality between our main striker and the other options. That's a big thing that separates really good sides to the great ones. If we want to compete on all fronts next season we'll need a big squad packed with quality. In the PL alone, imagine lining up against the small teams using both Lukaku & Morata up top. Lukaku on his own is nearly unstoppable against those sides in an average Everton team. Surrounded by top class players here and with a strike partner like Morata could be lethal and we'd see the return of 6-0 or 7-0 type scores we saw in Mou's first spell.
  24. Perfectly put. When you think about it, Cesc is one of our most irreplaceable players. You just can't find players that can read games, pass, and control matches like he does. Theres absolutely no way we should even consider selling him unless Cesc himself demands it. And even then it has to be abroad. Will play huge part for us in Europe and the league next season.
  25. We all know Pulis is a low key Chelsea fan. Do us a favor on Friday, mate, and play a weakened side!
