  1. The market was forever changed when United made it okay to pay whatever it takes for Pogba. Now big clubs know it's okay. People have to accept this reality. Even fucking Liverpool and Everton are spending huge now.
  2. VVD, Bakayoko, Alex Sandro, and Lukaku. That would be one hell of a summer. Cherry on top of the cake if we signed anyone else.
  3. I would sure hope so. A midfield pairing of Baka and Kante would leave us with the same issues we had last season. Desperately needing to bring on Cesc to pick out a decisive pass. We need to play 3-5-2.
  4. That's a fuck load of money, Jesus Christ! Sky Italia, though
  5. Bakayoko, Kante, Cesc midfield 3...
  6. Really hope that's a new quote and not a misinterpretation of the "substantial" offer quote he made the other day. Our summer business would be insane if we managed to sign Alex Sandro, Lukaku, and Bakayoko. Anyone else on top of those 3 would be a bonus. I wonder if we'd even bother to get a Moses upgrade/cover or we'd just slide Azpi over and use Andreas/Aké as a CB? Anyways, PLEASE let this happen!
  7. If true (and it's a big IF) we're willing to pay an absolutely massive fee for a left back, why not make a serious play for Verratti? Seems obvious that he wants to leave PSG. Unless he utterly refuses to go anywhere but Barca, I guess. But Neymar aside, do Barca ever spend ludicrous amounts on single players? He'll likely cost about 80m coming from a mega-rich club like PSG. Can Barca do that? Like Alex Sandro, Verratti is a top class player at the perfect age who Conte will of course know very well. Perfectly fits the profile of a Chelsea player.
  8. You knew the instant you read that hilarious reasoning for him wanting out that this story was bullshit. "I'm mad at my teammates for not helping me score more goals. I'm leaving!" As if he's a spoiled little child not getting his way.
  9. And the most ridiculous transfer rumor of the summer so far is born. Right there with people actually believing Cristiano will leave Madrid.
  10. Beautiful shirts. Love them. Even the Spud shirts look great.
  11. Both Salah and Mané play on the RW, so I wonder if Klopp will move Mane to striker? Think he's a great signing for Liverpool and Klopp will have a nice big selection of attackers to choose from. Like City, Liverpool's attack wasn't the problem. If those two clubs can sort their defenses this summer then this coming season will be a bloodbath at the top. Any one of the big clubs can win the league.
  12. Still insane that Mo Salah will cost that much. I know he's done well at Roma, but £35m+?! Guess that's the going rate for a good player these days.
  13. Hmm. Didn't realize he's as old as he is. Thought he was 31-32 not 34. Still, on a free or for very cheap he'd be a good signing for anyone for only a single season. I would think he's nailed on for City since they have no fullbacks, he'd walk right in the side, and of course Pep being there. No brainer.
  14. Our fans are going to be savage on Twitter if the club announce a 35 year old backup keeper who will be lucky to play a handful of games as our first signing. This should be fun to watch!
  15. Honeslty wouldn't be surprised if that old, stubborn fool Wenger just kept him and let him go for free next summer than sell him to a direct rival. Same with Sanchez.
  16. So what, does an agent phone up Jim White and say "hey, Jim, Chelsea are now interested in Ox. Tell everyone."
  17. I've long been curious how these outlets find out about clubs "joining the race" to sign such and such player. Is there a que around the back of the Emirates where Klopp and Pep were standing? Now Conte's back there, too? Like, how the hell could they possibly know? No club official would tell them secretly, surely?
  18. Good, solid player but I'm not sure he makes a whole lot,of sense for us. Not from his perspective, anyways. He'd have a similar situation here to the role he's got at Arsenal which is that he wouldn't be an automatic starter. That's the whole reason he wants out. Much as I'd dislike seeing him there, Liverpool makes the most sense.
  19. I just can't see us bringing in another expensive CB that'll push Cahill out of the team. Unless Conte is cold blooded and benches the player who was captain in a title winning side and was a mostly solid 7 out of 10 guy. Would be really harsh on him, tbf. If we want to become an elite side we need an upgrade on him, though. Or maybe if we can land Alex Sandro + Bakayoko itll provide more protection for him and we won't need to replace him at all.
  20. Knowing our board, if we fail to sign Sandro, rather than going after the next best target we'll wait until the deadline and panic buy someone not nearly as good. If we can't get him we need to throw that money at Mendy, Walker, Semedo. Someone top class.
  21. I would hope we aren't a club that will be held to ransom by Diego Costa. Either we get a fee we think is satisfactory or I hope we keep him. Conte was able to talk him off the edge so to speak in January. Maybe he can do it again. Unless we're just desperate as hell to see the back of him, £26m is derisory for one of the world's best strikers. He's worth double that at least in today's market.
  22. For that money they can have a signed photo of Diego Costa.
  23. Who knows. Hopefully it's a "pay a bit more" rejection and not a "not for sale at any price" rejection.
  24. Hasn't this been known for days now? Anyways, that's crazy money for them to turn down for a fullback. Especially for a club like Juve who, until last summer, had a reputation as a cheap club. Always low balling other clubs for their players. Hope we don't give up and can turn his head.
