They sort of lost their edge after Zlatan left, their best player in Verratti wants out, and they were overtaken by Monaco in the league. We'll surely be offering Sandro huge wages, so unless PSG offered him considerably more I don't see why he'd go there instead of here.

So basically, as good as Marcos Alonso was for us going forward last season, Alex Sandro is just at a whole other level. At the same time he's also elite defensively.

Yep. Imagine if Kante or Bakayoko pick up a lengthy injury. We'd be right back to a midfield that includes Cesc which means any good team will dominate us in the middle of the pitch. We certainly need more than one signing there.

Playing at CB robs him of the opportunity to do what he's best at, though, which is bombing down the flank and putting in good crosses. I'm sure he'd do an admirable job as an emergency CB but surely his future isn't there.

Wonder what would be going through Alonso's head if we made this signing. Coming off a great season where he started just about every match and having only been here a year. Going from a nailed on regular to a bench player overnight. I'll feel bad for him to be honest.

Comes down to one question for me- does selling him there make it more difficult to win the league? Yes, it does. So don't do it! Will Matic be the vital cog that takes them to another level? No. But adding him to their midfield and completely freeing Pogba of defensive duties may indeed do that. A midfield 3 of Pogba, Herrera, and Matic could be excellent. Only way I'd be okay with it is if we brought in Verratti. And that ain't happening.

Still stick to my opinion that it's super dumb to sell a very solid player to a direct rival, no matter how good the money is. A lot of Chelsea fans will be thinking "finally, we've got rid of a bang average player," but ask yourself why Mourinho would be eager to sign him again? He obviously thinks he can make a big difference. From our point of view, I can't help but think it would be a huge risk to enter the season whilst simply replacing Mayic with Bakayoko and having essentially the same midfield options as last season. We need more options in midfield! Kante, Bakayoko, and Cesc with Chalobah is not enough for 4 competitions. If we sell Matic I think we'll need 2 new midfield signings.

When he's holding that blue shirt i'll get excited. Until then I'll remain calm so I won't get let down if it doesn't happen.

Already seeing people around Twitter and other places comparing him to Yaya Toure. Just because he's big, strong, black, and a midfielder doesn't mean he's comparable in terms of his actual game. Prime Yaya was totally unique. Had all the physical tools to dominate yet could also score 20 goals in a season. Bakayoko isn't a goal threat at all right now. The main thing he does do similarly to Yaya is that he's able to carry the ball and surge forward like an 18 wheeler. Watch him on YouTube and you see him burst forward with great ball control and shrug off 2-3 players in the process.

Extremely shortsighted and plain stupid if we sell him there. Essentially completing Mourinho's midfield for him and significantly improving their squad. He should be kept unless he forces his way out or we receive an acceptable bid from a foreign club. Think he'd 100% be a hit at United and we'd seriously regret it.

John Stones just went for £50m and he isn't nearly as good as a healthy VVD who's only a bit older. Not only is VVD super comfortable and elegant on the ball, but he's also dominant physically. He's got world class potential. I'd much prefer us spending crazy money for a sure thing like VVD than around the same for Koulibaly who would be a massive risk. What's 60-70m if he gives us 8-10 years of to class service? He's a can't miss target for me. Hope he doesn't go to a rival if a move here doesn't work out because he's a beast.
