Yeahhhh... A midfield 2 that includes Fabregas will struggle against even bottom half PL teams. Can't see how it's going to work in the CL against a midfield 3 away from home. It's like we've handicapped ourselves before the game has even kicked off.

Even without Kante, this team should have more than enough to beat Roma. If we just go out here and surrender possession and play like scared pussies we'll lose this.

Also can't afford morale and confidence to be low for the weekend when United visit.

Hopefully Kante's hamstring isn't at risk for aggregation and he's as close to 100% as he can be so he's not risking a long term injury by playing tomorrow. We need to be extra cautious and careful with him just like we did with Hazard.

Hopefully Morata comes out and clarifies. Otherwise, what the fuck... This kind of thing seems to always happen to us.

If Kane stays fit for the entire remainder of the season I think they could legitimately win the league (if City come back down to earth, I guess.) No chance at winning the CL.

He's just really loose and sketchy on the ball. Conte has said it numerous times and I agree - good off the ball, needs to improve dramatically on it. It's when he tries to play a skillful pass whilst being rushed that he struggles. When he keeps it simple and has time he's fine.

Think Bakayoko is the one player who will benefit most from Kante returning. He was once again good at winning the ball and making interceptions today but he's really quite poor on the ball or when he's got to make a quick decision. Kante is much more polished in his development than Baka is and takes the burden off him. Rüdiger continued to prove that he's miles better than Cahill. He's strong, fast, athletic, and great in the air. He also knows when to just put the ball out of play unlike Cahill who thinks he's David Luiz and tries terribly to play out. Morata was good everywhere but finishing today. Could've and should've had 2 assists and 2 goals today. We aren't yet ruthless enough in front of goal like the 3 teams ahead of us are. Need to speed things up in the final third to make it much harder for opponents to defend against.

This has all the hallmarks of a game where we get chance after chance, don't score, and then the opponent scores a fluke goal to win 1-0. We have to pick up the tempo and get the ball to Hazard when he can run on to the ball. This whole 1st half we get the ball in the final third and are at walking pace. It allowed them to get their entire team behind the ball.

We have no ideas when we get it around their box. Just get it wide, smack in a cross, and hope Morata can head it in.

You see every other big team go to these little sides and force the issue. We play so slowly and predictably that we make it so easy for them.

Alonso has been absolutely useless for weeks now. Just awful again so far.

Been saying this exact same thing all week. This midfield 2 just screams to opponents, "press these two and counter!" Cesc should really only ever play in a more advanced attacking role or as part of a midfield 3. Strange and frustrating that Conte doesn't seem to realize this.

We especially need Morata and Hazard to be very aggressive. The two players who a side like Bournemouth should not be able to live with. If we play slow and lazy like we did against Palace and most of Watford then it plays right in to their hands.

Oh, wow. Cahill actually got benched. That's a pleasant surprise. Nice to see Zappa starting in the PL but I'm still not liking the Baka/Cesc midfield 2. We should've started with 3 in midfield so that we can completely control the middle of the pitch. With this midfield pairing we're unbelievably exposed to counter attacks.
