Hazard looked burnt out and not really at it today. That was a game where we should've really been out of sight. Got into so many dangerous positions but we're very wasteful. Also must be said that we looked completely different when Cesc came on. We look far more dangerous going forward with him in the team.
-
What's Conte waiting for here? Need to change ASAP.
-
Cesc is needed in order to get the ball to our attacking players quicker.
-
Wow! Terrible keeping but good accuracy from Alonso.
-
Desperately need the focal point and cutting edge precision of Cesc and Morata. This front 3 isn't effective against a parked bus.
-
Really need to up the tempo. We grind to a halt in the final third because we're too slow and allow them to get their entire team back.
-
Really annoying and almost pathetic that we (the big club playing at home) are the ones getting pressed high and struggling against it by a team in poor form.
-
Hopefully Baka is as composed and risk-free as he was midweek. Midfield may be Southamptons best area so with only 2 in there for us we need both he and Kante to be on top of their game.
-
Only one change, then. Strange that Rüdiger is rotated for Cahill.
-
Zaha is brilliant. Will certainly be back at a big club very soon. My guess is Spuds who he'd be annoyingly good for.
-
Definitely wouldn't mind seeing the same team again. Meaning Rüdiger starts instead of Cahill again, too.
-
Honestly, we shouldn't be replacing them at all but rather adding to them. As Willian has shown this season, he's the perfect super sub or occasional starter. Whether or not he's happy with this role is another question. Pedro has always been a rotational player rather than a nailed on starter both here and at Barca so I'm sure he won't have any issues. We need loads of top quality options like City and the other elite European sides have. If we truly had ambition and if Roman is seriously annoyed to see us miles off a title challenge we'd be adding rather than replacing.
-
Yeah, he looks to have a similar style as Mahrez on the ball when dribbling but doesn't quite have the end product in terms of goals. Definitely has the end product when it comes to assists, though. I'd be glad to have him but there are perhaps better fits for us. Can certainly see why Arsenal are/were after him. Would be a perfect fit in their team. If Sanchez is off next month you'd imagine they'll try again. Alexis looks like his head is completely gone so he's surely off.

The main things I'm noticing when watching Lemar's highlights on YouTube are that he seems very one footed (left) and occupies the same space on the pitch that Hazard does (also left). Now obviously players of this ability can likely play anywhere across the attacking positions but it's something to consider. One of Eden's most dangerous moves is cutting in from the left and shooting. Likewise, Lemar looks great at putting the ball in with his favored left foot. So what's the idea if both are in the side? Im sure Conte could figure it out but I just think it makes more sense to get Mahrez who's used to playing on the right.
-
Along with Hazard and Coutinho, Mahrez is one of the 3 best on the ball in the league. Skips past players with ease. He's the sort of player we need on our right side. I think he would compliment Hazard brilliantly when we start with the 3-4-3. Imagine being a defending team and having to go against both of them. Our attack would be insanely dangerous. If we were playing 3-5-2 on another day Mahrez could come on against tired legs and completely tear teams apart. Come on, it's gotta happen. Leicester to Chelsea connection is strong! Then we can bring in Vardy in the summer as our second striker. 😂
-
Rather have him than Lemar, tbh. Won't cost an astronomical fee and would need no settling in period at all as he's been excelling in the PL for a while now. On fire in recent games.
-
They're apparently getting completely hammered by Leicester currently. So you know they'll give us their best game this season at the weekend.
-
This is true, but maybe (hopefully) this season has been a wake up call to Roman and the higher-ups in the club that we can no longer compete with City if we're somewhat tight with money. We're fighting with two clubs now in the league with infinite resources and who have shown that they'll pay literally whatever it takes to bring in the players they want. We don't have to go crazy every summer and spend £200m, but if Roman wants Chelsea to compete on all fronts going forward he has to give us the squad to do so. Can't leave us depending on 2-3 players to pull us through every match.
-
Clean sheet gone with the last touch of the game. Fuck off.
-
Please take Eden out now before one of these idiots injure him.
-
Alonso's crosses today 👍🏼
-
Our most dominant half of the season and probably the best football we've played since the first meeting with Atleti. Could've scored a couple more as well. Bakayoko showing what he can do if he just keeps it simple and stays calm. Not rushing, not over complicating it. Basically playing exactly like Matic.
-
This could either go unexpectedly well or be horribly annoying.
-
Conte just doesn't think much of Bats at all, does he? Even without Morata he won't select him. When chasing a goal last weekend he chose not to bring him on. We're buying someone next month, surely.
-
Like seeing the Pep Guardiola-like front 3 but without Cesc in there I don't see them getting much service. This might be a struggle. 😕
