Gonna guess that we'll go with 3-4-3 for an extra attacker here rather than 3-5-2. Fabregas and Kante in the middle with Pedro starting instead of Baka.

Think he'd benefit greatly from playing with a complimentary second striker. Like if they manage to sign their long term target Griezmann. Him being the lone striker at a huge club with all that pressure exposes his many flaws.

Being almost universally slated on RedCafe. Has been a lot this season. Many already proclaiming him a bust and saying they'd gladly see the back of him in the summer if he carries on like this. Bit harsh on him but they knew exactly the player they were getting. Needs great service or he's useless. When he gets good service (against shit teams) he'll score. Not a top level footballer, but a top level goal scorer. I think he'd have been great for the United of old where they had terrific wingers who can deliver amazing crosses. Who knows, maybe if they spend another coup,e hundred million on top class wide players he'll kill it for them. Hopefully not since it's amazing to see José melting down again.

Perfected the same heading technique as CR7 and must surely have modeled that part of his game after him in training. Seems to hang in the air for an age and then puts it precisely where it needs to be.

We have the same issues against the small teams almost every game. We have so little genuine attacking quality that we're easy as hell to defend. If Hazard, Cesc, or Morata don't create a moment of magic we are shit. Every one of our rivals at the top end of the table go against these small teams and dominate. They'll score 4 or 5 and just simply overwhelm them with attacking quality. We, on the other hand, make it easy for teams like Brighton to sit back, defend, and gain confidence.

Zappa seems clearly suited to a counter attacking style where he can run onto the ball in space. When a team is camped in their own half for 99% of the time like Everton were and he has to square up his marker and beat him with a dribble he's nearly useless as we saw. Think we can honestly say he was a panic buy. Came completely out of nowhere once we realized we couldn't get a world class wingback. Guess we couldn't get as lucky as we got when we panic bought Alonso last year.

Watch Liverpool still be shite defensively even after adding him. 😂

I'd be genuinely delighted if we went and signed Vardy as our rotation striker next summer. He'd be picture perfect for us when Morata doesn't start. He may be the wrong side of 30 but he doesn't look like slowing down at all anytime soon. Crazy pace and tenacious workrate. Great finisher. Ideal for Conte. Imagine bringing him on against tired legs with Cesc feeding him over and over again. He'd be a terror for any side to see coming on.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure our club will be willing to spend any significant amount of money halfway through the season. They're probably content with what we have. I would be shocked if we brought in anyone top quality. Probably another decent, but not great addition like Zappacosta level.

We need one starting quality attacking player in January. The club must see this.

Don't know why people are saying it was drab or boring. We were sending wave after wave of attack, dominated the midfield and should've scored 2-3. It was one of our best attacking performances of the season in terms of asserting our dominance. Everton seemed to have 8 players in their box and 2 players on the line in addition to the keeper at all times. No way through.

We have literally zero game hanging attacking subs. And we have too many average players in wide areas.

Even more dominant than Hudersfield but couldn't break down the double decker bus. Pathetic from Everton.

I'd probably sacrifice Willian for Cesc. We need his eye to break down their defense. Willian didn't play poorly but it's just so congested around their box that we can't break down that final barrier.

Everton look totally toothless but I feel like if we don't score first and demoralize them a bit they'll score with one of their only attacks.

It's got to the point where I'm actually hoping Batshuayi doesn't start tomorrow. We have to go with the false 9 against that slow and old Everton defense. If they start with Williams and Jagielka then Hazard, Pedro, and Willian should rip them apart.

Just don't get how sides can be this awful at the back for years. Like, you would think Klopp in particular would have strengthened his defense. Liverpool have been laughably bad there since Brendan Rodgers was in charge and haven't looked any better.

Yeah, after making that post I did a bit of YouTube research. The way he's talked about recently I figured he was a teenager who just burst on to the scene and had super potential. Didn't know he was in his mid twenties. Watching his highlights, he looks to be Fabregas-like. Excellent long range passing and creative eye. Can certainly see why so many big clubs are eyeing him. With RLC coming back next summer I'm just not sure we'll be in the market for another midfielder.
