  1. Higuain or Morata shitting his pants in front of goal? Higuain or Giroud waiting for crosses that never come over and over again? Higuain or Hazard getting visibly frustrated having to play up top with 8 players surrounding him in the box? Pretty easy choice, really. The January market is hellish. As evidenced by the fact that not one of our rivals have done any business yet.
  2. Rumor I'm seeing ion Twitter is that he's come down with a "fever."
  3. Okay, this is hilarious. 😂 Can certainly see why you may say this but I think he's far better than Pato, Etoo, and Falcao was at the time we loaned him. Just can't imagine him being an utter embarrassment like Morata is.
  4. If we don't get a Higuain at this point, watching Morata, Giroud, and the false 9 limp through the rest of the season struggling to score will be the death of me. For fucks sake, Arsenal appear to be in turmoil and we can end their season essentially if we beat them this weekend. Spuds will be without the striker that utterly carries them for ages and their next best scorer for weeks. This is the perfect time to capitalize on the situation and bringing in a goal scorer.
  5. I know we're all weary due to being burned by Morata, but Higuain's CV is light years better than his. In every big team he's been been apart of that was actually well set up (which Milan is not right now since they're rebuilding) he's scored at a ridiculously good rate. Unless he were to come massively overweight I simply cannot imagine him being worse than Morata. Think about all of the easy chances and 1v1's with keepers Morata has missed. Think about how all the bigger, more aggressive CB's just closely Mark Morata and he can't deal with it, gets frustrated, and then gets a needless booking for yelling at the ref. I feel like that's happened about 6 times. Higuain has always been a killer in the final third. Just trying to look on the bright side here.
  6. Assuming Sarri just doesn't fancy him (which has been clear) I'd sell and then throw whatever it takes at Leicester for Chilwell before City make their move for him.
  7. Giroud was never considered as a direct and immediate replacement for Morata. He was brought in to rotate and compete with him. Higuain would come in as the undisputed #1 option.
  8. If we're going to do anything with ANY striker I wish we'd do so early this week so we don't have to play the bloody false 9 against Arsenal, a match we have to win.
  9. From the 5 or so videos I've watched of his he looks about the same as Jorginho in terms of mobility. Certainly more athletic than Cesc but like Jorginho, he is susceptible if the ball is turned over quickly in midfield.
  10. Fucking hell. I thought they had a murderous schedule coming up? They should comfortably win all these. We must beat Arsenal next weekend.
  11. If we bring in a striker who actually scores goals I think we hold on and finish to 4. No chance if we don't.
  12. Get ready for a huge United wankfest all week long.
  13. Just like against us the other day Spuds' three best players almost nonexistent so far. Now with the legs and physicality of Sissoko off I think United will dominate the middle of the park and see this one out.
  14. I feel gross as fuck for saying this, but COME ON SPUDS! Spuds are better than us right now so I don't care about them being above us. We have to focus solely on 4th spot from here on out. Keeping as much distance between us, Arse, and United is the most important thing. We definitely want Spuds winning today.
  15. Think he's completely burnt out. As far as him not having any impact on our attack, I don't blame him at all. We saw with Napoli that he was excellent at the "Fabregas pass" over the top. He tries it repeatedly here (as we saw yesterday) but since we aren't playing with someone who naturally makes those runs up top they're useless. I think he's the biggest beneficiary of the possible incomings of Paredes and Higuain. One plays exactly like he does so he can be rested frequently and the other is the picture perfect forward that plays to his strengths. Sad and frustrated to see so many Chelsea fans on social media having a go at him. Members of the media who don't pay close enough attention as well. Yes, his form has dropped lately but there's a reason why. And it's not ability.
  16. Arse would be demoralized as fuck if we were to win this. We can effectively bury their top 4 hopes. Their fans are already depressed and angry because they can't afford to make any purchases this month. Losing this will send them over the edge.
  17. Simply having a striker that opposing defenses respect and are fearful of would be a huge difference. For our players likewise. For the past few months I bet you even small teams are delighted to see us line up with Morata. He's soft as hell and has zero confidence. They know he can be physically bullied and his game goes to hell if he misses an easy chance. Giroud, bless him, tries like hell but our team doesn't play to his best attributes (crosses). On the other hand, our players are probably demoralized having a void up top where attacks go to die. Having a striker that you are confident can score is invaluable. If this is the best we can do in January then do it. A CL place is essential this season.
  18. I'd have Luiz before everyone 5-10 on your list tbh. No CB out there can do what he does on the ball consistently.
  19. Not often you see Toni struggle physically but he got manhandled by Rondon today. Not really his fault because Rondon probably outweighs him massively. Hard to watch, though.
  20. For the love of fucking God, can we please buy a striker before the next match. PLEASE!!!!
  21. Seriously, how many times have we seen Alonso just fumble over the ball from a standing position!? Very Bakayoko-like.
  22. Alonso. My word. School boy on the ball, man. Fucking hell.
  23. Embarrassing overall half. It would be understandable to be rattled by a top quality opponent. This shit keeps happening against teams we are supposed to be vastly superior to. Wolves, West Ham, Southampton, Newcastle, Leicester. In every single one of these matches we should've been completely out of sight by halftime but they up their tempo, up their intensity and we simply cannot handle it. It then makes our lack of goal scorers even more glaring.
  24. Exact same thing happens against every bad team. We dominate early, give the other team hope, and then when they have their tails up they bully us and we get rattled. Combine that with the numerous average players who are out of form and we struggle to get a hold back on the match.
