Never thought I'd see the day where little, penny pinching Spuds would make one of the most expensive transfers in PL history. If this is just the start of their business this summer they'll finally be a serious title threat. Imagine being and Arsenal fan right now, though. Hearing you have a total summer budget of £45m and seeing Spuds (fucking Spuds of all clubs) spending more than your entire budget on a single player. 😂😂😂 I mean really, what's going on at Arsenal? They worked for a decade essentially to move stadiums in order to compete financially. Spuds do the same thing and yet they can now go out and spend 60m on a single player while Arse claim to be broke. Gotta love it!

Arse fans have been screaming in desperation for a wide player for ages, I think. Whenever I watch ArseFanTV they're always saying it. But yeah, attacking is the least of their problems. Anyways, I find what Juventus have done kinda strange. They already had a very solid midfield and have now brought in both Ramsey and Rabiot, two players who fill essentially the exact same role. Be interesting to see how they keep all of them happy.

Insulting, laughable offer from Arse. If I were Palace I would take that as a huge sign of disrespect and refuse to ever do business with them for unsettling him. But, if Arse do manage to somehow get Zaha I'd be gutted. I've wanted him here for a while. Would hate seeing one of my favorite non-Chelsea players go to that disgusting club.

I think everything is done in regards to Frank himself. Just everything else that's being sorted. I bet the announcement will be Monday.

I wouldn't mind giving Baka another chance to become a rotational option. Look at Sissoko for Spuds. Everyone laughed at him and thought he was a clown. He was labelled a massive bust of a signing by Spuds. Remember when Eric Dier was the next hot thing for both Spuds and England? Sissoko came in for the injured Dier if I recall correctly, was given massive incidence, and is now one of the first names on their team sheet. Dier was nearly irrelevant for them last season. Maybe if Baka feels the "love," gains confidence, and plays alongside players to mask his deficiencies he can be a valuable member of the squad. When we need a super physical team for a particular opponent a midfield 3 containing him may prove useful, who knows.

Would seem strange with Lamps coming in to retain Kova. You would think he'd want to integrate Mount but maybe he'll go on loan again? When RLC returns we'll have he, Barkley, and Kova all gunning for that AM spot. Where would Mount find playing time? I would've preferred we just let Kovacic go and use Mount as a direct replacement. He couldn't be worse in terms of output and the manager would know his game inside and out.
-
Very talented young player, though. Love him in our side if we didn't have Reece coming in. Both United and Spuds on the verge of making very good signings. Ndombele and Wan-Bissaka. That Spuds midfield 3 is going to be insane. Super athleticism and extremely dynamic.

Will be particularly interesting to me how he gets on with players who he played alongside here and others he knows well. The likes of Willian, Luiz, Azpi. Must be kinda awkward to have authority over people who were once your equals. Likewise, I wonder if there will be authority issues if Lamps drops these players. That's one of the big risks in appointing someone so young and fresh. Earning respect is much more difficult, especially at a club like ours where player power has run rampant. Thankfully, Frank is an absolute legend here so that kind of stuff shouldn't get out of hand like it did previously.
-
Hopefully we get some clarity from the club on the transfer ban situation as soon as Lamps is appointed. Best to just get it out of the way immedietly rather than string the supporters along all summer wondering what's going on.
-
Hope Frank doesn't play it safe by starting the seasons with Willian and Pedro as our starting wingers. As was mentioned, this season will essentially be a "free hit" where we surely won't be competing near the top of the table so there's no point in using the same stake, average attack. This season's should be all about bedding in young players and establishing a set way of playing. Take the risk of starting Pulisic from opening match and letting him earn his place right away. Seeing a front 3 of Giroud, Pedro, and Willian for the first couple of months as Lampard gets his feet under him would be so lame.
-
On the one hand I can't see Frank fancying him. The club would also be questionable bringing him back. But on the other hand, our options are not exactly great, are they? Unless we go full on youth revolution with Tammy I can't see who will be our main man. Counting on 33 year old, slow as a tortoise Giroud as our primary striker over a 50+ game season sounds like a recipe to finish 10th again.

Announce Mourinho with JT as his assistant. 😎😅
-
At least it was done quickly. No fucking about for months like with Conte.
-
Yeah, I expect United to have a significantly improved side next season. Whether Olé Gunnar is up to the task of taking them to the top I don't know. Spuds will surely add to their squad this summer. Lampard getting a Hazard-less Chelsea team with no new additions to 4th spot would be one of the most ridiculous achievements ever.
-
So much for that announcement today like all the media people said.
-
Guys, we aren't sniffing top 4 without transfers. Regardless of which manager we appoint. Just reconcile that with yourselves now. This will be a tough season where I think we'd do very well to finish 6th. We'll be competing with Arse, Leicester, Wolves, Everton and Wet Spam in that 6th-10th area. This season will be all about developing young players and establishing a style and identity under Lampard. It's a write off in terms of competing for any of the major trophies. We'll be a cup team this year.
-
My immediete thought in regards to Lamps is how he's going to setup the midfield. Wonder if he'll fancy Jorginho and if so, in what role? I really don't want him sold.
-
Looks like all the journo's have been tipped off. Goodbye Sarri, hello Lamps within the next couple of days.
-
We're fucked in other words. If RLC, CHO, and Reece James were all 100% fit, Bakayoko, Michy and Zouma came back and rose to new heights, and Mount followed Lamps here to take Kovacic's place I suppose we could be optimistic at least. But with three of those injured long term it's very difficult to summon any optimism heading into the season. Its going to be absolutely brutal watching all our rivals signing players we would've been after. Seeing the likes of United, Arse, and even Spuds who never spend buy great players is going to suck.
-
The meltdowns even amongst our fans would be so hilarious if Mou returns again. I need it in my life! I must see it!
-
Jose in. 🙃 Be nice to see him wind every other manager up again.
-
Hope whatever happens, happens soon. Get the speculation over with. Let the new manager start to put things in place ASAP.
-
Unpopular opinion, but I think Rafa is a better manager than say Allegri or Blanc and obviously Lamps at this early stage in his career. No chance we're looking at him but I think he'd be decent.
-
Knowing us it'll drag on the whole summer. Remember last summer how long it took to sort the Conte situation? Everyone knew he was off from the day the season ended and yet it took ages. And remember the summer before that when we waited and waited and waited to sign a striker and then put in that embarrassing last second bid for Lukaku after he had already decided to go to United? This time we'll probably fuck about for a month and then have a panic appointment with Blanc or something. 😂
-
Can't really blame him for wanting to jump to Juve. Unless Conte is backed with a couple hundred million Sarri will walk to the title. They'll have another deep run in the CL. He'll be managing a club that many top players desire and can likely cherry pick the best Italian talent whenever he sees fit. For a manager who just won his first trophy he's probably got the hunger to win more and views the Italian league as a triumph he came so close to achieving but coming up short. Look at the man he's replacing. Allegri is an above average manager who coasted to title after title. Sarri can enhance his legacy significantly there. Why stay here and fight for 6th?
