I’d prefer Wilf to Auba, tbf. But exactly like Mitrović and Toney, Zaha is the face and most important player for his club and there are just a few days left in the window. He’s irreplaceable for them at this moment in time.
-
Don’t think it’s going to happen, mate. Despite the rumors all summer I’m thinking we have never truly been in for a starting midfielder. Otherwise we would’ve snapped up one of the many who have moved clubs this summer.
-
Wolves again looks impressive. Quality all over the pitch.
-
I really like the look of this Zacharyan kid we’re heavily linked with. Despite being a teenager he looks good enough to come here and contribute in the first team now. Already playing at one of the bigger Russian clubs so has experience. Wonder what the plan is for him. Looks too good to drop into our youth setup.
-
We have a free run at him this summer and it’s one of those cases where a top talent dreams of playing for Chelsea. If we waited and he had another great season there would’ve been many other big clubs after him. Most notably PSG. And then with a bidding war he would’ve cost even more than this already high price we’re paying.

€100m for a guy who wasn’t even dominant in a poor league, playing for the most dominant team in said league. Antony was t even as good for Ajax as Ziyech was! They’re basically buying the Brazilian Saint-Maximin. Someone with crazy skill and is great to watch at times but without impressive end product. For 100m. Insanity.
-
Going to be a huge bust for the price they’re going to pay. Also, does the primarily play on the right side where they already have Sancho?
-
Neither would be possible with a handful of days left in the window. Impossible to replace them for their clubs.
-
He’s priceless to Fulham and a fan favorite. They lose him and they go down. No chance. Even if we offered £80m they’d probably say no.
-
I see Leeds got smacked back down to Earth after we made them look like prime Klopp Liverpool last weekend. 😒😒😒
-
Welp. Quite the pleasent surprise to come back to after I switched my tv off when Conor was sent off.
-
The thing I don’t understand is how so many of these players don’t look ready for a new season. I’ll mention Havertz and Mount again. Both have been USELESS so far through 4 games. I really just do not see a solution to our woeful attack. Any improvement is going to have to come from us shoring up other areas once Kova, Kante, and Fofana come in. And then hope Reece in his actual position helps things.
-
Completely in control of the game, pressing well, not allowing Leicester a sniff. Then that. We’re now below a horrendous United side and will be 8 (EIGHT!!!) points behind Arsenal after just 4 matches played.
-
Unreal. Horror show from Gallagher on and off the ball. An embarrassing start to the season. We’re in big trouble.
-
Playing directly into a poor teams hands again by moving the ball at walking pace.
-
A knee hair offside. Fuck the fuck off.
-
If Havertz and Mount don't look considerably better today then they absolutely must be dropped for our next game or more.
-
The Leicester XI is really, really poor looking. No Maddison at all, Ndidi on the bench, Soyuncu on the bench, Fofana not in the team for obvious reasons. Absolutely ZERO excuses for anything less than 3 points at home here. Especially after that horror show in Leeds. But as shit as their team looks, they may try to catch us out by pressing all over the pitch. We better be ready.

RLC at wingback again…

I just wonder if there’s some striker we’re considering as a last minute emergency signing if Auba doesn’t happen. There’s no chance another PL club would sell us their key striker with a few days left in the window or on deadline day itself. I’ve seen lots of our fans on Twitter and elsewhere saying we should go for Toney or Mitrović. But those two are the talisman of their teams and are key to their PL survival. There’s not a chance in the world that either would sell at this point regardless of price. So we’d have to look abroad and probably to a smaller, less wealthy club who need money. I just have no clue who we’d try for.
-
Sending Chalobah to Leipzig would be very good. Establishing a good relationship with that club will be very beneficial for us because they’re one of those converter belts of great talent. Could come in handy if Nkunku has another great season and we move for him next summer. As for Gordon and Auba, it feels quite likely now that neither of those moves are happening. But we absolutely need an attacker before the window shuts. It’s desperation time now so I think we may have to do something desperate. What that is I don’t know. But we aren’t achieving anything without more goals.
-
I agree. I think they’re in serious trouble if they sell him this late in the window. Not because he puts up big numbers but just because of the energy and effort he brings which Lamps clearly loves. Don’t see this one happening unless we send them one of our prized young players like Broja or Gallagher on loan as part of the deal. Which would be stupid on our part.
-
Sounds like he’s saying that it’s getting to the point in the window that if anything is going to happen it needs to happen ASAP before it’s too late to sell an important player.
-
Think we’ll have done as well as we possibly could have this summer reshaping our defense if Fofana comes in. Two players in Cucu and Fofana who know what the PL is all about, are young, and should be here for many years. And then Koulibaly who is vastly experienced and will be more than fine once he’s fully up to speed. Would’ve been nice to sign a quality backup to Reece to put the cherry on top but we can make do with the (hopefully rare) Azpi or RLC appearance there if needed. Sterling, Koulibaly, Cucurella, and Fofana as senior signings that all go straight into the first XI is a fantastic summer. We add 1 more signing who can get us goals and it’s one of our best ever windows. And that’s not even mentioning all these young talents we’re signing for the future. We’d all have loved the club to get a jump start in the midfield rebuild that will be needed very soon but we can’t expect Boehly to spend £350m in a single window. The fact that we haven’t gone all out for some of these midfielders that have been linked says to me that Declan Rice is still the one we’re waiting for. He will be next summer’s Fofana saga where we bid multiple times and eventually sign.
-
Imagine what Leicester will demand if we put in another shocker against them tomorrow. 🫣 They may then demand £100m since we’ll be desperate.
