Hazard feels like he’s has basically retired. I haven’t seen a single link or rumor about him all summer. What a sad decline for a Chelsea legend. It’s as if he finally achieved his dream of making it to Real Madrid and then kinda gave up trying.
-
Still not one reliable or worthwhile source has said we’ve abandoned the Caicedo chase. Until Romano, Ornstein, Law, or Nizaar report it then just assume we’re still pushing. That being said, if we don’t end up getting Caicedo I think we can 100% kiss top 4 hopes goodbye. Perhaps even top 6. We will be much better than last season but still nowhere near good enough with just Enzo as our only top midfielder. Caicedo makes every other unit on the pitch better. We absolutely NEED to get him at this point.

Aren’t Brentford asking for like 35-40m for Raya? Why tf would Arse spend that much when they have Ramsdale? And why would a keeper that may be better than Ramsdale want to go to a club that has a set in stone #1 who Arse fans argued was the best keeper in the league last season?

I see the rumors that Ousmane Dembele could leave Barca and go to PSG. If that happens I can see them turning to Kudus to replace him. We should’ve wrapped that up a week ago if we are really interested.
-
As I said yesterday, pretty much all opposition fans think because we had a nightmare last season that it erased everything we’ve done for the past 2 decades. Even tiny clubs who have achieved nothing like Brighton are talking shit about us.
-
Tomorrow will tell us a lot. If the reliable English journalists like Ornstein or Law tell us this new kid is going on loan then Caicedo is still coming.
-
While I don’t really rate ANY of the moves United have made thus far you have to hand it to them for at least going out and getting all of Ten Hag’s #1 choice targets. First choice keeper, first choice midfielder, and first choice striker (they were never getting Kane). Now they’re instantly moving on to Amrabat. Meanwhile, we’ve made a grand total of 1 senior signing intended for the first XI this summer in Nico Jackson. Nkunku was signed in January. We finished 12th, the next season starts in about 2 weeks, and we have no midfield right now.

You could’ve scored those 3 goals, Vesper! 🤣🤣🤣 I really don’t want to sound like a hater because I haven’t even watched him match to match. But highlight reels on YouTube are supposed to make even average players look like beasts and I’ve watched numerous highlight videos of him and he just looks like a run of the mill striker at a small club. That striker we’re linked with from Montpellier, Elye Wahi looks MUCH more impressive to my eye than Hojlund does. And they’re the same age!
-
He’s not even one of those young strikers who was scoring a silly number of goals and banging in worldie after worldie from outside of the box. He’s not a striker who dribbles past defenders for fun. He’s not particularly good in the air. I just don’t see this super talent that he’s hyped up to be.
-
€85m for Hojlund!!! 🤣🤣🤣
-
Hopefully we get clarification immediately after we sign this kid one way or another whether he’s going straight on loan or staying. If we get word he’s staying then the Caicedo deal is dead. Signing a 19 year old Lavia to be the primary defensive midfield shield who has played in the PL and knows what it entails is already super risky. Signing a 19 year old to be the primary defensive shield for your team when he’s coming from a small French team would be utterly bonkers. And I cannot imagine Poch has this idea in mind. He was just stressing that he needs someone experienced in midfield. This kid CANNOT be our Caicedo alternative, surely.
-
70m for Hojlund vs 30m for Jackson. I’ve said here numerous times but I don’t think Hojlund looks all that impressive. Yes, he very young, but I’d have Jackson based on what we’ve seen so far.
-
We need someone to reassure us that Caicedo is still on 😭😭😭
-
Tbf, this kid at least is a completely different profile than any of the other youngsters we’ve bought.
-
I have a feeling this is our Caicedo alternative, guys. Or at least an insurance signing that we’ll keep here in addition to Caicedo.
-
Just watched video of him. Looks like almost a carbon copy of Everton’s Onana. Super tall yet very athletic and mobile DM who loves a crunching slide tackle. Does indeed look like someone who could become interesting with some more refinement but not someone who is ready to step into the Chelsea team.
-
When we bought Strasbourg I figured the plan was to uncover inexpensive gems and develop them there with an eye to turn those inexpensive gems into Chelsea players, thus saving us money. I did NOT expect us to spend £20m+ sums for loan players. That’s the kind of money that small PL teams spend for their marquee signings!
-
God help us if this kid is the Caicedo alternative. I’m seeing now that we’ve agreed a deal of over £20m for him and that’s pretty pricey for someone who would go straight to Strasbourg, isn’t it?
-
Signing more players for our feeder club than our primary one… 🤦♂️
-
I was just thinking to myself, isn’t it strange that City have gone totally quiet when it comes to their midfield since they matched that £90m second bid for Declan Rice? Then there was that report weeks ago from Ornstein that they were after Gabri Veiga just like we were. So clearly they want someone. Could they be waiting in the wings for us to finally agree a fee formCaicedo only to match it and steal him from under our noses? He’s as good or better than Rice so I’m not sure why they’d fancy one but not the other. Man, I hope we settle this saga soon…
-
Mitoma will 100% be the next Brighton player all the big clubs will be after next summer. And if Brighton have another great season De Zerbi will probably get a job at a massive club as well.
-
Yeah, from what I’m reading on Twitter he’s looking very good already in his first start back. We HAVE to try one last almighty push to convince Brighton within the next few days. One last massive offer. This is a signing that totally elevates our team.
-
Nathan Gissing doesn’t know anything, even if what he says there ends up true.
-
Enzo had a poor season? Okay, that confirms that you’re trolling.
-
You sound like one of those opposition fans who think all our players are shit. Have we not seen James and Chilly be some of the most dangerous wide players in the league? We’ve watched it with our own eyes. That isn’t theoretical. We watched Enzo instantly become one of the best chance creators statistically in the league when he arrived.
