Either would be great. But I thought Bayern already had their usual tap up tactics going with Wirtz like they do with every German super talent. Feels like a nailed on Bayern signing at some point.
-
Wonder if the true reason he’s so adamant that he wants to leave for a direct rival will ever come to light. Or if he’ll just keep it private and say the usual, generic “I just wanted a fresh start” bullshit once he’s holding up that United shirt.
-
DD Fofana seemed like a puzzling buy the moment it emerged we were after him. Like some people at the club thought they were unearthing some gem that would turn into a worldie or something.
-
How do Rice and Rodri mesh together, btw? The both play in the same area and have similar roles in their teams. Personally, I think him going to City is better for us and other rivals. I don’t think he really moves the needle for them at all. Essentially swapping our Gündogan in their best XI for Rice is a step back. Whereas he’s a massive upgrade and game changer for Arse’s midfield.
-
Arse will be desperate to save face after chasing Rice HARD for months now. If we haven’t already sorted Caicedo I think we’ll miss out now. Us playing the patient game with him will probably bite us in the ass here. Better go to Inter and offer £80m or more for Barella.
-
The deal isn’t in jealousy or anything but isn’t it a bit strange that we’re still apparently haggling with Villareal over the payment structure for Jackson? We can’t pay a small fee like £30m in one lump sum? Usually when you hear about payment structure it’s for massive and hugely complicated deals like Enzo.
-
Getting £60-65m for Mount in the last year of his contract is INSANE. Even crazier than the £65-70m we’re getting for Havertz. Two players that weren’t even set to start for us and we’re going to receive ~ £120m combined for them.
-
Maybe, but I don’t see it. I think they massively overperformed and will come back down to earth. They’ll eventually spend their way to being a consistent top 4 threat but I still think it’s too early.
-
True, but I have them pinned already as the club that takes a big step back from last season. I don’t think they’ll be near the top 4 come the end. They had so many bang average players who have been shit for years suddenly playing out of their skin at the same time. I don’t see Almiron, Joelinton, and the rest of them playing to a superhuman level again. ‘Increased expectations, pressure, and the huge fixture list with UCL football will knock them back a level. Still a top 8 side but not top 4.

Osimhen is going nowhere with De Laurentiis in charge. His only possible way out any time soon is when Mbappe leaves PSG for Madrid next summer and PSG need to make a flashy new signing to appease their supporters. They’ll be the only ones insane enough to pay Napoli’s silly asking price. I like Osimhen but don’t think he’s in that prime Kane/Benzema/Haaland/Lewandowski level of super elite #9’s. Great finisher and front man but not a fantastic all around footballer. And for £100m or more you want someone who offers you everything.

If Milan were open to selling Tonali we should’ve been all over him as the second midfielder in addition to Caicedo. He is tailor made for the PL with his tenacity and ball playing ability.
-
We need an unexpected Ornstein bomb about a player nobody thought we were after but who we’ve secretly been working on behind the scenes. Come on, give us some exciting incoming transfer news today!
-
Wonder if we’ll be after an additional attacking player after Jackson at this point. Felix, Havertz, Mount, Ziyech all out. Hopefully Pulisic as well. My thinking all along has been that Mudryk, Nkunku, Sterling, and Madueke was enough but perhaps another creative type who can also chip in with goals should come in.
-
If all these outgoing deals are sorted this week hopefully we see the incomings start to pour in next week. Get an idea of what Poch is planning.
-
I’ll easily get over the losses of Mount, Jorginho, Kova, and Mendy. All very solid players for us but I don’t see any of them making us regret letting them go. But for some strange reason I feel like we’ll regret selling Kai to Arse specifically. If he was going to Bayern I wouldn’t be bothered in the least. But the thought of him realizing his potential in that shirt rubs me the wrong way. Great price we’re getting, nice to get his massive wage off the books, but makes me feel uneasy.
-
I wonder if we can step up to a different bracket of player now that we’re receiving so much extra cash for our unwanted players. Maybe we really can go after the likes of Tonali & Barella instead of Onana & Lavia.
-
Seeing the salt from supposedly unbiased football journalists is almost as satisfying as actually getting rid of the deadwood. They’re desperate to find some sort of shady business connection.
-
I’m gonna keep mine as Kante permanently. Out of nostalgia.

Can’t see a 22 year old English player going to Saudi Arabia. His career may have been derailed by injury but he could still easily find a PL club who’d take a punt on him if he agreed to significantly lower his wages. What an insane career trajectory for CHO, though. From golden boy prospect with super potential, having us battle Bayern to keep him, giving him a massive wage to get him to stay, then goes out on loan and basically disappears. It’s sad. While it would be great for Chelsea if we can sell him for some silly money to Saudi, on a human level I hope he can find a smaller PL club and become a solid player again.
-
Plus there’s now talk heating up about Arse selling Partey to a Saudi club. The Arse supporters will be silent about that I guess… 🤷♂️
-
If Caicedo could be had for £70m then 5-6 clubs would have already been in for him. He’s going to cost at least £80m if Rice is £100m or more. Brighton aren’t mugs.
-
Get Caicedo done quickly ffs, so we can then blitz Lavia before Arse get fed up with West Ham and switch to him first.
-
If Rice didn’t seem so determined to go to Arse like it seems he is I could absolutely see us hijacking that move with a fee West ham would accept instantly. But I don’t think Rice would come here after the season we’ve just had combined with his best mate leaving. Playing Champions League football seems to be his top priority this coming season.
-
Sure has gone quiet on the Caicedo front. Especially since we’ve apparently been working on the deal for weeks.
-
GNev whining as he’s about to watch his club become a state owned plaything. 🤣🤣🤣 Which he said he was okay with just the other day.
