  1. If he can get the games at Wigan and do well then he well worth being given a go in our first team next season. This is a very important loan for Scott though, could even be make or break for his future at Chelsea.
  2. Without a doubt. The last thing you want is your own player to put up and score against you....
  3. A loan move to Wigan is an excellant move for Sinclair. It is his chance to play Premiership football on a regular basis. It is fantastic that we are now finally getting Premiership loan deals for our young players, this is the next level for them where they can show they can do it at this level. Hopefully he can get the games he needs there. Quite a big move for him also considering his loan moves in the Championship have not been a massive success. Shame we couldn't get Bertrand in a Premiership club also, although i am sure we are looking at getting Jack Cork into one.
  4. Drogba still has a lot to offer us. Hopefully he can have another top season playing with 2 up front this season. He had his best season when Jose was mainly playing the diamond and he was partnered by Sheva.
  5. Di Santo has the benefit of the ACN, if he can score goals and put in good performances at Blackburn once Drogba and Kalou dissapear for the ACN then Di Santo has the chance to come back and stake a claim. Time will tell but i think Di Santo definately has the quality to be a top player for us in the future.
  6. This one should be interesting. No doubt both teams will want to win this, with a week to prepare and get themselves ready i am feeling confident we can get one over on the Mancs in this game.
  7. Excellant news that we are giving him a new contract. Ryan Bertrand has also signed a new deal, so we are still looking to bring these lads in. If Carvalho is staying then we maybe should consider a loan for Mancienne, but it HAS to be to a premiership club. If we can get these lads playing on a regular basis in the premier league then that IS a good move for them.
  8. Blimey a draw against Reading and things have gone wrong. We beat 4 teams in the states using the diamond including AC and Inter Milan! Plus i very much doubt that Carlo is only planning using the Diamond. The reason he has been using it now is because the players do not know it as well as the 4-3-3 so they need the practice in using it, and what better time than pre season.... As BlueLion said, don't be suprised to see us use a different formation against the Mancs...
  9. The most important thing for Di Santo now is that he gets the games. If he gets the games it will do him the world of good. He has the quality to do very well, and to be playing on a regular basis in the premier league is great for him.
  10. Continuity in management is a key point in being able to bring through the youngsters.
  11. Dissapointed if true. Really wanted him to have a crack this season. However if it is happening i hope he gets the games he needs. If he gets his head down works hard and bangs the goals in for Blackburn then it could turn things around for him come next season. I do believe with his quality given the playing time he can become an excellant striker, so lets see.
  12. What a rubbish story...... Mikel and Essien are 2 quality players!!! Incidently, 2 quality players we are going to lose to the ACN....
  13. Yes, but i would still class Mikel as an exceptional talent and you won't get many like him comming through. I agree that you have to give these lads games. For example i would have given Bertrand the back up to Ash job this season, but Ancelotti just comming in decided to not take the risk. I would have played Stoch and Di Santo much more last season - again Hiddink and Scolari needed to get the results so decided to not take the risk. At the same time we have to be realistic. At 21 Mancienne isn't a lost cause, i believe he will become a first team regular in a couple of years. And i believe we WILL start bringing some very talented players through.
  14. Yes but not all cases can be the same... Are you saying that Mancienne isn't ever going to be a first team regular now? Of course not. Some players will be exceptional talents and break in at a earlier age, but we have to be realistic and know that 9 times out of 10 it is going to be a longer process to get these players playing on a regular basis for our first team.
  15. You think that a youngster breaking through should be a regular starter, "starting" 25+ games a season before they are 23?? Mancienne is 21, so he needs to dislodge Carvalho, Ivanovic and Alex in 2 years? Once a player is in the squad it is going to take time for them to dislodge the players ahead of them, especially considering those players are World Class players. And also, does it matter. Having the players in the squad is the key point. Barca's academy has been long established at the level it is at. Like i said, we will see more and more players developed by the club comming through as time goes on.
  16. The question is though, what counts? Does Mancienne count? He is part of the first team as things stand, and was for the end of last season also... Can we expect a young player to be a regular STARTER any earlier than say 23/24?? Plenty of ones to come through: Kakuta, Bruma, Mellis, Borini ect.....
  17. It is obvious we shouldn't be signing any more 30 year olds. It is difficult though because if Ancelotti see's Pirlo as pivitol to the way he wants us to play then Ancelotti will see it as an important signing. For me though i would rather we stayed clear.
  18. Cant see a deal happening for Ribery myself... Especially with the formation, where will he play?
  19. Despite a bit of sloppyness, which is more than likely a hangover from the US tour i thought we did pretty well. Results mean Jack at this stage of the season, even though everyone wants to win. Ancelotti had another look at players in certain positions which is what he would have wanted. It was great seeing us push for the win right to the death in a pre season friendly, the team showed great character.
  20. Producing the young talent takes time. It is not an easy process. In Frank Arnesens first seaon we had Mancienne, Cork, Bertrand, Hutchinson and Sinclair playing in the youth team. All of them are knocking on the door of the first team now, not to mention Stoch. That is fairly impressive in reality. At the end of the day it is ultimately down to the manager to play these young lads, and because of our manager rotation policy that has proved very very difficult to do. Our academy is producing the players, that is for sure, there are a number of players with massive potential. It is easy to knock our youth policy but when Roman took over our academy was very very poor indeed. You will see in the future players of a higher level. Our new batch of U18's are a very talented group and this is what we will see more of, less being brought in (only 1 this summer) and more being produced.
  21. Would LOVE to see us sign Aguero!!!! Still a lot of talk about us signing players. Although Pirlo is still the most mentioned....... plus we have a squad of nearly 30 now which is clearly way too big. Plenty of movement to come still me thinks.
  22. Forget being the next Messi or Crespo. He is going to be the first Franco Di Santo He has a mixture of ability, skillful on the ball, can hold up the ball, good in the air and has a great eye for goal. We need to get him playing semi-regular to get his confidence up and a chance to show he can play a bigger role for us.
  23. As i have said quite a few times now, as it looks like we are playing with 2 strikers Di Santo should be staying for sure. He can become a quality player and we have to allow him to do that at Chelsea.
  24. For a first loan it would be very difficult to get a Premiership loan. Like Mancienne, Bertrand and Cork ect.. a Championship loan move is more likely.
  25. We need to find a good loan move for Hutchinson this season. He has yet to have that move due to his injuries and he would certainly thrive on a loan move. Sam is a good lad and reminds me in many ways of JT. Mancienne we all know about now. This is where the club need to pull their finger out when it comes to bringing our youngsters through. Mancienne has had good loan spells now and has done all that has been asked of him, we need to now be doing all we can to integrate him into the first team. No-one expects (or shouldn't anyway) him to be a regular. But we need to use him properly as a squad player and let him grow within the team.
