It is easier for Italian and Spanish clubs to sign South Americans as they don't have the same restrictions we do, also they have better weather and a history of bringing them over. With Di Santo though we have been able to overcome the nationality issue because he has an Italian passport already.

Chelsea Boss Grant: Abramovich Decides Transfers
EskWeston replied to TrueChelseaBlue's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Absolutely, i would be very supsrised if we signed a winger in January. I think we will go for a striker and a midfield playmaker and maby a young signing or 2 like this Argentine kid we have aparently snapped up. -

We need another winger in General, but what we do need is a top top class winger, we need the sort of wingers of the likes of Duff and Robben who are going to cause nightmares. I don't think SWP and Malouda especially have that quality. -
Yes another "shock" that one
-
Yes but because of the ACN we are unlikely to sign many players from Africa. Which is a shame because there are some outstanding players comming out from there at the moment including the young man we have just had on trial.
-
What an excellant draw, as good as we could have hoped for really. Tough luck on the red teams though who all have tough draws....
-
F**k me, i would even want to think about the reaction had Mikel or Essien done that!!!! They probably would have been strung up outside the FA by their balls.....
-
True, but if you were to put down your best starting 11 not many people would include Kalou in it.
-
Mikel and Essien are huge losses as well as Drogba and it will be hard to cope without them all but not impossible, especially if we strnegthen during January which i believe we will.

He sent Mikel into the bloody boarding for Christ sake, Crouch would have snapped like a twig if someone would have done that to him. -
Abramovich Clears Chelsea Debt
EskWeston replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
At the end of the day why should he? He bought the club to run it how he wants to.... He has brought to us the best in terms of players and training facilities ect.. and has now completely cleared our debt. FIFA ect.. should be kissing our ass for being such a big club running without any debt. -
Exactly the point (Except for Belletti who i think is first choice RB) Why is Kalou anymore first choice than Babel for example....
-
The only thing that slightly concerns me is that the Chilean league looks a very poor standard and may mean that he will find very very hard to make the huge jump. On the other hand he has been playing at youth level for Argentina which is a very high standard so i guess only time will tell but he certainly looks like comming

Audax Italia's Argentine youngster Franco Di Santo is excited about his move to Chelsea. Di Santo's Chilean club confirmed the deal this week and he said: "Playing in Europe is something I have been dreaming of. I'm very proud to begin my European career at such a prestigious club as Chelsea." Di Santo is moving to the Blues in January for £2.5 million and has agreed a contract through to 2012. HELL NO!!!! We should not even be considering someone as awful as this guy. Aparently our only requirement for a striker is "He must be tall"....

Abramovich Clears Chelsea Debt
EskWeston replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Nice one Roman, we are now the only top 4 club to be free of debt Lovely to stick 2 fingers up at the people who still think Roman is going to walk away, well they are more hopeful than anything else really. -
True, which again is very annoying, especially considering ours was second string as well. If you believe the media it is only us that has a "squad" of players every other team has a starting 11 and that it, the rest of their squad is "Second String" or "Reserves"
-
Well we are going to go through a tough time now with the injuries and then the ACN and should we be able to keep in touch with the league leaders after that then we stand an excellant chance..
-
And the ref was surrounded by Liverpool players. Good on the lub for doing this, with all the evidence it will make it hard for the FA to not do something about it. It makes me sick that we get punished for every slight incident but every other team gets away with it.

EskWeston replied to TrueChelseaBlue's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I would agree a wingerm a creative midfielder and a striker is needed to improve our squad, but all 3 must be of the highest quality because we have enough squad players in those positions. There have been plenty of players touted as potential targets for us especially in the midfield and striker positions. -
Especially as January is a very very tough time to sign players. Would it really be a big deal to bring him over on a free and see if he can work with us?

Well Jose said that Sheva and Ballack were NOT forced on him, and in reality which manager in the world at that time would not have taken them? Again i am sure that all owners and board memebers recommend players all of the time also. I really wouldn't read to much into these stupid stories as they have no basis in fact at all. If we sign any players i am sure it will be a case of everyone sitting down and working out what type of players we need and then what players fit that bill, and then are they good enough. -
Lampard Eager To Join The 100 Club At Chelsea
EskWeston replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Oh for christs sake!! As if Frank is the only player to score deflected shots...... Utter twats -
ONLY a Liverpoo player and especially ONLY against Chelsea would you get a player who did a tackle like that lanky f**ker did and all of a sudden become the hard done by party, you couldn't show anywhere leading up to that foul where Mikel did anything wrong.
